Spacious apartment, good outside space, good sized kitchen washing machine, fridge freezer filter coffee machine, staff are very good and helpful, the apartment was clean. The negatives are the apartment does need some updates and repairs of outside spaces, the sun loungers need replacing, the complex is closed to the strip so it can be loud until the early hours. Would I stay again possibly but maybe out of season when the big clubs are closed

Just home after a 4 night break in Smy, had a lovely stay, met with Flavia on reception on arrival who was very friendly & welcoming, as it was too early for check in we were able to put our bags in a storage room and head out in the sun. The appartment was beautiful, very spacious, well equipped & clean, any requests that we had were dealt with promptly. It was an added bonus that the swimming pool was open and had lots of sun loungers to avail of. TV had a lot of film channels in English, good for a lazy night in.

I would not recommend this hotel.
On the first day we arrived, they were over an hour late in allowing us to get into our apartment. Firstly, they said our room had maintenance issues that were being fixed; next, they said it was still being cleaned from the previous guests. The staff had extremely poor customer service and were often cold, rude and unhelpful. One member of staff being the exception, he was called Allan. He was always kind, helpful and very friendly.
Our bathroom sink drain was blocked and unsanitary.
There were ants all around the apartment, especially in the bathroom and kitchen. This was disappointing for a self-catering apartment as we had no other option but to use these facilities. I think this might have been an issue due to a lack of cleaning.
Housekeeping only came to our room one time. After persistently asking for fresh bedding. During this visit, they made only 2 out of the 3 beds and swept the floor. This was 5 days into our one-week stay. Fresh sheets were not provided, nor did they enter the bathroom. We had to ask for toilet paper and fresh towels for this reason. As previously mentioned, 5 days into our stay, we had accumulated a large amount of rubbish which we had to stack up in and outside our apartment, further adding to the uncleanliness.
Since three people were staying in the room, we had to use the ‘sofa bed’. The sofa bed consisted of a pull-out sofa with no mattress a bottom sheet that was too small, a top sheet that was left folded on top of the bed, and it did not include a pillow. It was expected that we would use the sofa cushion as a pillow. A pillow was still not provided 6 days into our stay, after asking for one.
After speaking to other guests of this hotel, they informed us that housekeeping hadn’t been to their apartment once. They had to use the same towels and buy their own toilet roll as reception had ‘run out’. Upon reflection, I think our apartment was only cleaned to due persistently asking.
The pool area was not the cleanest but better than the apartments. However, for the number of apartments in this complex, the pool area was not nearly big enough to accommodate the guests staying there. As a result, groups of people had to lay on the ground tiles to use the pool area.
As for location, these apartments are a 5-minute walk from the new town and about a 10-minute drive from the old town. we used Uber most nights as it was only around 5 euros.
Lastly, on arrival at this hotel, we had to pay a €300 deposit. We originally paid this in cash. As three young girls running low on cash, we asked if we could exchange our cash for a card deposit. We were told no with no explanation.
As you can imagine, this was very disappointing. We were young girls who had saved up a lot of money all year to go on holiday together, and this was not the experience we had hoped for.

Reading the bad reviews we expected the worse . Actually we had a nice appartement, the kitchen had all the necessary utilities. Everything was clean except the bed cover was smelly so we asked for clean one from the reception and they did it immediately. They asked for a deposit of 200 euros which is logical in case you break something. We stayed 7 days and we got all our deposit back with no problem. There was students making noise and talking loud during the day but after 22.00 it was almost quit. The rules are quit normal , of course you have to take your trush out yourself, it's an appartement it's not a hotel room , and you have even the cleaning utilities there. We had nothing to complain about to be honest, we had great week there without any issue. Also the staff at the reception were very friendly. I really recommend this hotel it's close to the beach, to the market, restaurants..

My second visit to SMY. I noted there have been a lot of upgrades since my last visit (Nov. 2023) Flavia at reception was a fantastic example of 5* treatment in a 3* hotel. Nothing was a problem for her. We were treated like family and I really look forward to seeing her on my bext visit!! Wonderful person!!
