Spacious rooms with ocean views. Staff super helpful and friendly. Rooms clean but a little dated. Washer room but no washing machine in our 1 bed apartment. Little kitchenette with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Just back from a 10 day stay at the almar, we had booked the premium suite and it was great, much bigger than the photos showed. We had mentioned in our initial email that it was a special wedding anniversary, and when we got into the room there was a bottle of champagne 🍾 nice touch. Also after a few days we mentioned that there was no shade at all on the balcony and within half an hour there was a house maid at the door with an umbrella for us. The weather was great, much hotter than we expected and the private pool was great for cooling down in. Very friendly staff and the room was cleaned and beds made every day. Would definitely recommend even though only self catering there is plenty of nice places nearby to eat and just a short walk down to the old town where there is an abundance of restaurants and bars. Select few members of staff treated myself and 3 other friends extremely poorly upon arrival. Forced to pay €150 each deposit straight away without any prior warning, the €150 was decided by judging us, as when spoke to other guests their deposit was as low as €20. Shoved in rooms in what appeared to be a makeshift basement level. Room never got cleaned once, no fresh towels. The only upside of this hotel was it being in a half decent location near the beach and the woman who worked the bar & breakfast area being lovely. Would not rush back to this hotel.

For the price, it's a quaint little hotel with great views of Albufeira and the beach with good value. We booked the Deluxe suite with the private pool/patio. The pool was too cold for the season unfortunately but it was still nice to be able to lay out in the sun. The bed was comfortable and the room was nice overall. The location is very walkable to the beach and Old Town. There are great food options around too. The staff are very welcoming and will make recommendations upon request. Overall, I'd recommend and would stay again for the view alone!
