Whether or not you need to hire a car in Tenerife depends on what you plan to do during your stay, as well as where you choose to spend your holiday. If you want to stay in your resort for the duration of your trip, you’ll find that there’s little need for a car. However, if you plan to explore the island a little - say, for example, you want to travel from one side of Tenerife to the other to visit Santa cruz - hiring a car would be beneficial.
There are a wide range of car hire companies in Tenerife, some of which you can pre-book online. This means you can pick up your motor at the airport.
