This is a lovely place. Contrary to some reviews, we found the staff so helpful and friendly. Nor were we asked for a security deposit!! Apartments have all you need, including an iron, microwave and clothes horse for drying clothes. There are three pools, a paddling pool, and then a proper pool, neither of which are too deep, plus a heated indoor swimming pool, complete with jacuzzi. Heaven. To walk to the old town is about 15 minutes downhill, but watch out as the pavements are really uneven and bumpy. No level paths anywhere. We used Uber and Bolt to get around as so cheap. Good supermarket in Albufeira Terrace shopping centre. But also the local supermarket at the end of the road to the apartment complex is well stocked, well run and very clean. The little cafe beside is also excellent value and delicious food. All in all Pateo Apartments may be classed as three stars, but it punches above its weight.

We went as a group of ten ladies for a hen party, and we’d read quite a few reviews that made us dread the reception we’d receive upon arrival but the staff couldn’t have been more friendly. We arrived earlier than anticipated so our rooms weren’t ready, but we were directed to a luggage storage room and advised that we could wait at the pool bar. They did take a £100 deposit from each of us but we got this back with absolutely no issues at the end of the holiday. I would go back here in a heartbeat, lovely clean spacious rooms, friendly staff, plenty of sunbeds around the pool and affordable (and strong) drinks. Food was also good prices and very tasty.

Avoid avoid..... Turned up early hours to find we had to hand over 100 euros in cash per person. We were 7 ladies celebrating 50th birthday. There was no flexibility to discuss in the morning with manger. Disappointed as the place was lovely. Rooms very basic but ok. 20 min walk from the atmosphere. Bars. And beach. 7 euros for taxi.

Great place. Nobody asked for a deposit as stated in one of the reviews. Check in was fast and before 3pm as the flat was ready. We had a ground floor apartment. Lots of space inside, kitchen is fully equipped, including microwave, toaster, coffe maker, fridge and cooker with pans and pots. Everything you need to cook any meals. Dryer outside on the patio, extra blankets, towels, soap, bath wash and shower gel, hair dryer and bidet. Cleaning service coming every 2 days. Indoor pool and jacuzzi were warm and clean. Small internal shop with goodies, free parking space. We picked self catering option but you may choose eating in. Great place, I would highly recommend, great value for money, lovely service. There was some work to improve exteriors and to make it nice for the summer.

Got ill from the jacuzzi. Pool bar was fab. Apartments spacious. Contains residential flats with roaming dogs and cats in the gardens, take that as a bonus if you will. 10-year-old son was met with intensely disproving stares by permanent residents whilst he was playing in the pool. Territorial vibes from the permanent residence there towards holiday makers.
