We've been repeat customers for a few years now. The location is fantastic being so close to two of the Disney World parks. The price is usually fair and the rooms are small but nice enough. This trip we decided to upgrade to a grand suite to give the family the extra room. I would always recommend staying at a Disney property over the Swan or Dolphin because they do it just a little bit better. But again, the location for the price was the appeal. But unfortunately I feel like it's time to part ways.
We extended our Disney stay by a couple of days so we transferred from a different resort to the Dolphin. To our regret, the Dolphin lost our luggage, resulting in my family going to the parks while I tried to find our belongings. I explained to them that I could see the luggage was at the right location (thanks to airpods), but the bell service didn't seem to care or want to take a second look.
I requested that the concierge make note of our situation so that we could at least have proof that it happened. He offered us a $50 credit (which we took because at least it was something). The credit ended up coming off our our deposit and never showed up on our receipt (this concern was mentioned but I was assured that it was not the case). After a couple of hours trying to find anyone that would help (thanks to the bell manager at the Swan), I was instructed to go to my room and await the return of our lost items.
After another wait, I phoned bell service to check on the status. I was informed that the luggage was delivered to the wrong resort (again, not true as we could see the location via the air tags) and that I would have my items shortly. This was finally true. I tipped my bell man and thanked him for reuniting our suitcases with us.
I understand that mistakes happen. But when they do, it's how the situation is handled that reflects on the establishment. The Dolphin handled this so unbelievably poorly and that is the reason for this review.
Stick with Disney resorts. They haven't failed us yet.

Reviewing while laying in my room fresh after a 10pm fire detector went off in my room because we took showers? Fire alarm started screaming while showering my small kids. I was laying in bed dealing with a massive migraine from sun activity at the park. Once it started going off I called concierge and couldn't get ANYONE on the phone. Had tried calling back several times and nobody answered. The worst part was having to go through a robot phone service instead of talking with a person. Shouted emergency at the thing and had to answer more questions before it dialed security which rang with no answer. Had to get everyone dressed, go downstairs speak to a front desk manager who told me it shouldn't and wouldn't happen again. He sent security to my room to clear the alarm they were waiting for me when I got back. From their lips, this is the issue in all rooms they told me not to take a hot shower? That the humidity probably set it off and it would probably happen again if we showered again.
What a joke. I have stayed at hundreds of hotels and never experienced such a thing before. God forbid there was a legitimate emergency and was unable to get anyone on the phone. Note to any family of four. Don't take consecutive showers and if you do take refreshing cold showers. I can't even be upset they didn't even offer to switch my room if it would have just happened again somewhere else.
Aside from this, was actually having a decent time and thought the hotel was a decently located spot on the grounds with pretty good access. The inability to get through to anyone was a major negative to me and the fact maintenance/ security told me this was a recurring issue is even more disturbing.

We love the gift shop here—the staff is always so friendly and welcoming! This is one of our favorite hotels, not just for its great atmosphere but also for the super convenient transportation to the parks and the Disney Boardwalk. It makes getting around so easy and stress-free. Always a fantastic stay, and we can’t wait to return!

I was very disappointed in my experience at the dolphin this weekend. The parking lot and valet was full, so we had no choice but to park at the neighboring hotel Swan and carry our bags over from their lot. The room was in a dusty corner next to an emergency exit stairwell, quite away from the main elevator. The room itself was clean enough, but the fixtures were certainly not. The shower curtains were tattered, the walls were oxidized, and the bedsheets had questionable stains on them. I expected a lot more from this resort as it advertises itself to be a deluxe resort. In my opinion, you’re mainly paying for the convenient location when you stay here. Also the $50 resort fee and additional $38 in parking is ridiculous especially for what we got in our stay here. Our stay was very much not worth the money we paid. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again, nor would I recommend it to anyone.

Hotel is very nice but for the price, I felt it lacking in the luxury you'd expect at this price point. Beds were reasonably comfortable, pillows need replacing. The rugs are worn and dated. Rooms are a nice size, no microwave.
The location is great for Epcot or Hollywood Studios. The resort fee is high and I did see what it provided for all the extra money.
Wouldn't choose to stay again
