We’ve just returned from a stay at Blue Sea Costa Teguise Gardens and it was an experience to say the least. If you're considering this hotel, I strongly suggest you lower your expectations. The rooms are very outdated, no AC, and the mattresses are sat off the floor on what to be looked like ironing boards.
The hotels main problem is it attracts a very specific type of clientele. Picture groups of people and family's straight out of a Jeremy Kyle show—loud, rude, swearing around children abusing the all-inclusive drinks all day and completely uncaring about anyone around them. It made the whole atmosphere unbearable at times and for that reason we spent every day on trips out or to the beach away from the hotel.
As for the food, although it was edible. It was a bland, unappetising mess—chips and bread were the only things you could reliably count on. Everything else was just slop. We don’t mind basic food, but this was below even that standard.
If you’re booking this at a very very cheap price, you might be able to tolerate it, but DO NOT book through a holiday company or travel agent that hikes up the price. We paid nearly £1900 for 5 nights here, and it wasn’t worth a quarter of that. It was a complete rip-off.
On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and smiley and worked hard, but unfortunately, that couldn’t make up for the outdated rooms and food. Definitely not a place we will be returning to. It would be classed as a 2 star in the UK.

There’s no specific reason for the 4 star but didn’t think a 5 star rating was required because it wasn’t the best of the best.
Me and my partner wanted a get away over new year without the kids and this came up the lowest priced. Which was then all inclusive! Not something we were looking for ideally.
From the outside and in some places it could be taken as a 4 star (I’ve stayed in some dives). The reception was clean, the staff were lovely and the cleaners cleaned up every other day. Never felt like our belongings were at any risk too.
The food wasn’t the best but I’m actually very fussy. It was toast for breakfast and chips and bread for dinner. I never fancied anything other than that. There were a few things my partner went for but personally I wouldn’t touch. We decided to eat out each night though because of the food. It was just a batter choice.
We didn’t take advantage of the all inclusive alcohol as we’re not huge drinkers but had some coca-cola or sprite in the day.
The Entertainment wasn’t amazing. Felt sort of like a low budget hotel entertainment. We only watched a little on 2 of the nights. It was a little disturbing when the drag act took their clothes off while changing out of their makeup. Felt a little like ‘WTF did we just watch!’
The Pool area was okay. Sun loungers were unlocked around 10am but should definitely be earlier as people are waiting around and the sun is out. People just want to chill out! The pool seemed quite clean. Normally, I speak to a lot of people round the pool area but it felt very much like no one wanted to speak to each other. Another guest also made the same comment to me.
The area is quite nice. It’s out of the way of all the hustle and bustle of the square, but not too far of a walk. If you can find the short cut paths down to the beach/square. They are stoney paths.
Would probably return again if it was a really good deal but not paying a lot of money.

Service overall was very good. Samara and Eli on Reception were fantastic, nothing was too much for them, very professional. Hamza barman of a night was very efficient and friendly. Our maid Pepi was lovely, would always knock the door 1st. She did a great job, room was always spotless.

I write this review as I currently bask in glorious Lanzarote sunshine, from the comfort and tranquility from my own terrace, here at blue sea Costa Teguise Gardens; I have one more day until I go home - but couldn't wait until I get home to place a review!
I'm here as a solo traveler celebrating my 40th birthday, which was on the 10th of January. As I come to the end of my three night break, I would just like to convey how grateful I am to enjoy some winter sun at such a terrific location.
The hotel:
I have found that this hotel is very pleasant, a relatively small and humble complex which suits me absolutely perfectly. My room in particular is a right treat: I have one of the corner rooms of the complex, so my personal terrace wraps around some of the perimeter and it is massive! I do not have to battle with the hustle and bustle of the pool area - which is quite busy, if you like to be social. The shower is fantastic, and the cleaning staff have done a wonderful job on the presentation and tidiness. Muchas gracias to the cleaners!
The staff:
I have never known such a welcoming, and smiley community of employees in any of my travels to date. I was welcomed by Miguel on arrival, and he was fantastic how he explained the timings for food, and how to initially find my room. What a lovely man - thank you sir. Also special mention to the two ladies working the reception on the day of my birthday (forgive me, I don't know your names) but your smiles were infectious, you were both polite and professional - and your wonderful gesture of a bottle of fizz send to my room has absolutely made my weekend. You have helped me make wonderful memories: gracias mi chicas! 🥰
The food:
I will get straight to the point: I have found the food here to be absolutely brilliant! There appears to be quite a mixture of reviews about the food here, but I'm sure this is down to expectations. I have enjoyed a mixture of cuisines, loads of lovely fresh veg, an assortment of meats, and I have not had to cook or wash up once myself. What is there not to be grateful for! The chefs are friendly (gorgeous crepes this morning at breakfast!), and the team that go around and clean up all the plates and cutlery work tirelessly but are always smiling and will always say hola! What a fantastic team they are, and already credit to Blue Sea.
Summary:
I very rarely treat myself to a holiday away - but coming out here to Lanzarote and staying here for three nights has been nothing short of bliss.
As and when I do travel to Lanzarote again (now my favorite place on earth) I will absolutely be sure to book back at the Blue Sea Costa Teguise Gardens.
Gracias equipo, ¡ha sido mágico! 🥳

We stayed here on a 4 day trip, 2 adults, Thursday - Monday
We arrived a bit later than expected due to a flight delay. On arrival the reception staff were helpful and efficient. The young lady on the desk checked us in, gave us our wrist bands and our room key and showed us a map to our room. She explained meal times and the fact that we needed a euro deposit for a plastic cup.
We walked to our room which was up on the third floor. We opened the door and it was hot and a bit stuffy but it had been a hot day so we just opened the sliding door to the balcony and the windows.. and looked for the air con - which there isn't - and panic set in a bit because it was really really hot.. however with the bedroom windows wide open there was a lovely breeze throughout.. however every now and then there is a bit of a whiff of sewer.. but it goes as quickly as it comes and isn't a huge deal
We went to the bar and got a drink and then decided to call it a night as we had a long day travelling.
Breakfast on Friday morning was not great at all. We were down for breakfast as soon as it opened and most of the food was cold. We quickly discovered that as the food was cycled what was coming out was hot.. so first piece of advice.. don't go for your meal as soon as it opens as the food won't be hot.
The sunbeds are locked until 10 - however they are unlocked about 9.45 or so.. but in lieu of sunbeds being reserved the chairs from the pool bar are moved into the spots people want and then exchanged for sunbeds when they're unlocked.
We were a bit late to the party on the Friday morning but there was loads of space for us to put a couple beds - this may not be the case during peak season but given we are just out of season it wasn't a problem.
Lunch on Friday was the best meal we have had so far... however the lamb chops that were freshly cooked on Friday lunch time have since featured Friday evening at dinner in a sauce, and then they appeared AGAIN Saturday lunch time looking worse for wear again in a different sauce.. the same thing with the pork ribs that were first featured Friday lunch and again Friday dinner and Saturday lunch - all in different forms.. other guests had complained to reception about the quality of the food and were told that there are restaurants a short walk from the hotel if they didn't like the food.
The evening entertainment is twice a week on Sunday and Thursday - again this may be because we are just out of season but on the evenings in between there is bingo, but this is paid at €5 each.
Breakfast is hit or miss.. sausages that are a little too pink inside for our liking and pancakes on one day..
The pool bar looks nothing like pictures that appear on the booking sites.. they serve a couple cocktails but there is nothing saying about them, we had to ask.. the snacks are rolls made from the ones that were out for breakfast and a few pastries, also from breakfast - and once they're gone they're gone.
The other pictures that the hotel provide to the booking sites are also questionable.. and a bit dated. The seats by the pool bar are not those shown, the booking site also shows a sauna and hot tub.. they're not here.. another booking site also showed a squash court.. which isn't here.
The garden part of the hotels name is not quite as good looking as the pictures show. And while we appreciate that hotels have to upsell themselves, some of the pictures being used are just misleading.
We managed to get this hotel free using rewards from a booking site - however if I had paid for the hotel I would be really upset.. it was just a weekend away for my wife and I but there is nothing for children here..
Sorry to say we won't be returning.
