Lake Buena Vista Resort Village: A Failing Resort Unworthy of Your Stay
When booking a vacation, you expect a smooth experience, a comfortable stay, and a staff that values its guests. Unfortunately, Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa failed to meet even the most basic expectations, leaving us frustrated and regretful. This resort, which once may have been a respectable option, has clearly been left to decay—both in its physical state and its customer service. If you’re considering this place for your next trip, think again.
The problems began the moment we arrived. Despite having a confirmed reservation for a specific accommodation, we were given a completely different unit—one with fewer bedrooms, bathrooms, and beds than we had booked and paid for. When we brought this issue to the front desk, rather than receiving any solution, we were met with a front desk associate that wanted to charge us additional to get our original booking. After a great deal of unnecessary hassle and arguing, they finally agreed to move us, but the situation somehow got worse.
Our “upgraded” room was located on a floor that had significant water damage. Industrial-sized dehumidifiers were running constantly.
Other places are cheaper and better with less stains on the carpet.

We stayed here several years ago (7 or 8?) and were excited to return. However we were really disappointed. The suites haven't been updated and the furniture is aged and tired looking. The grounds are also due for a refresh.
The people working here are great and friendly and the location is really convenient. The suites are spacious (we rented a 3 bedroom to share between 4 adults and 2 teens). But that's all the good things I can say about the place.
Our bathroom fan sounds like a plane is taking off and there is rust and mold on the blinds on the shower window. Who even puts blinds in a shower window??
The bed is the worst - my husband and I can feel every move each other make during the night.
One of the doors leading into our building is broken and the access cards don't work on it. You have to either physically force the doors open (how's that for great security?) or wait for someone to let you in. It's been like this for several days that we know about but there's no notice on the door so ppl are stranded outside waiting for the kindness of strangers and left thinking their access cards don't work.
When we checked in we were warned not to put the access cards anywhere near our cell phones and definitely don't take them through the security at Disney or they'd stop working. The technology the cards use is fragile and should have been updated years ago.
For the first 2 days of our stay, there were bags of garbage at the end of our hall right near our suit door.
The pool bar is supposed to be open until 9pm each night but I've never seen it open yet. Granted we're usually out during the day but we've gone down for a soak in the hot tub both times around 7:30/8pm and it's already been locked up.

Location is good, there is lots of shopping near by but that’s about the extent of the quality here. The rooms are dated and ours had clearly not been well cleaned, if cleaned at all. There was chip crumbs on the carpet still and the sheets were too small for the bed and had rolled up off it before we had even arrived, in addition to stains. The plates had crusty food on them still and the jacuzzi spat dirt and mould out and created a ring of dirt leaving me to decide against having a soak. The receptionists were neither polite nor helpful, the only people that were friendly at all were guest services (who work for a separate entity) and the gardeners. When you’re trying to get into your room, it will take on average 20 tries to get in and sometimes your key just won’t work at all. Receptions solution was to give us a stack of keys, which made no difference since the lock was the problem and several other guests commented on their inability to get into their rooms as well. The carpet stunk and there were hairs all over the bathroom counter still. We ended up cutting our stay there short by 3 days. It was quite disappointing as this was my first trip to Orlando from Canada and it put such a sour note on my time I wouldn’t bother returning.

Overall we had a lovely stay at this hotel during a 2 week family holiday. 13 of us in total across 3 rooms. The rooms did feel slightly dated but had what we needed and was specious. One room had no coffee machine nor kettle which was quickly rectified. The oven’s were in need of a deep clean and the seals wear coming loose. There was some thick dust in parts but mostly clean. The pool area was really good for the kids and close to a designer out let. Hotel tried to make us attend a presentation for a time share scheme and the calls were a little annoying. Safety wise one of the rooms had some draws fall on my 2 year old niece as the unit was not secure. Overall though was a good location from Disney and universal. Slightly closer to Disney.
