Let us start well, the staff was kind and helpful. The location of the hotel is nice and in no time you are at a (quiet )beach. The hotel itself is clean but the rooms feel dated and could use an upgrade/ update. The food is not great ( large quantities kitchen), but don't expect a ( top) restaurant experience. I would recommend this hotel for those on a budget or those who just need a bunk to sleep.

Excellent hotel for the money you pay for it. You get even more than you would get anywhere else in Europe for the same price. All staff is really helpful and attentive. Overall hotel is very clean, quiet and its location is good. You will always find a free parking space nearby. Food is wonderfully tasty. We are going to this hotel already 3rd year in a row and we will definitely come back there again!

Had a week's stay in a third floor excellence room which had a good sea view (308). We enjoyed our stay and the room was spotless and well maintained. Room was nice and quiet, blocking out most noises. We stayed half board. Food was generally quite varied and decent quality. Beer prices reasonable. Our room had air con, I gather some do not. Truffle chocolates on our pillows each evening and free bubbly for my birthday was a nice surprise (we didn't mention anything but had some cards). Location is good, the old sea front of caleta is great - fab restaurants/bars but quiet. My main grumble would be that the pool was very deep, only a small amount of it was less than 1.5m. The hotel reception booked a car for us one day which was about £70, drove up to the volcano which was probably the highlight for us.

I stayed at this hotel in October 2022 and I was quite impressed with it since I returned this year in October 2024 with my adult son. I chose a lower priced room due to budgets. Unfortunately there were a couple of issues with the room and so I spoke to some of the staff who didn’t really resolve our issues but eventually I spoke to one of the senior members of staff called Julie. Julie worked really hard to resolve our issue, despite having a very busy schedule and under the constraints of being fully booked up., Julie was professional (spoke great English) and she offered us a variety of options. We eventually changed rooms after a day or two and she gave us really lovely accommodation which was a big upgrade. She really went above and beyond and is credit to Hovima Hotels - thanks Julie you made our holiday really special. I highly recommend trying HOVIMA Jardin Caleta - the feel of staying there is more like a four to five star in terms of cleanliness and staff friendliness and professionalism. Rooms are clean. Sofa beds could do with an upgrade. They are OK for young children. But not suitable for an adult. Staff are helpful and welcoming. Food in restaurant plentiful. Its mainly local food. If you like beige food then the pool snack bar I'd open from 11am to 6pm serving, pizza,chips,hot dogs and chips. There are family restaurants in the area.
