Where do I start? One of the worse hotels I have ever stayed at…
We were here for two weeks, 5adults and 2 babies. Three rooms between us all three different levels…
Extremely rude and stuck up receptionists, as we had very bad stay here and kept coming to them as the housekeepers are extremely lazy and having problems every single day. With them not changing our 6month old babies cot sheets as they had accidents which as expected as they are babies and very common to happen. And once they upset their dinner onto the double bed, or had accidents through their nappies or even be sick. The housekeepers would either on many occasions change the position of the duvet or put a pillow over the dirty marks to look like they change it. This is unacceptable the management did not care nor did the very rude receptionist saying ‘ why you bringing it down here, you have to speak to them’. One there’s a language barrier as they CANT speak English nor we can speak SPANISH. We offered to them if they can get the sheets for us so we can change it ourselves to save them a job as this was absolutely ridiculous.
Took them 10days to finally change our sheets and when it stated in black and white they get changed every three days. What do the housekeepers actually do when they can’t do their actual jobs every day?
Two out of the group have done housekeeping roles in their lifetime and understand how much pressure they are in, there’s no excuse to come from them. Receptionist needs to be retrained and how to deal with customer service and communication. We got spoken to in a disgusting way, no paying customer should have got treated that way.
The management is useless, did not care one bit.
The swimming pools, the children one and the main one was absolutely freezing but it says online winter months it’s heated??? Another false statement.
The food buffet is just so terrible, same food every single day. No taste, flavour or seasoning. And it was cold all the time…
My partner is a chef he could easily do a better job than all the chefs in that kitchen.
It was disgusting!!! There main ingredient was garlic it was too much and very overpowering. Don’t they know how to cook properly?
You got juice and coffee in the morning for breakfast but when it comes to evening you are expected to pay for any drink? I think that so so wrong.
You’re paying for it, so you should get drinks in the evening too.
The staff in the dining area, some of them especially the older lady is extremely rude to the other staff. Literally arguing to one another in full room, did not care one bit.
Bar area was ok I guess but the middle doors should be shut when people are constantly smoking and coming indoors and it smelt horrible. When you got two young babies, and you don’t want them inhaling that disgusting full of chemicals of smoke into their lungs.
Such a bad experience here, we will NOT be returning to this shocking hotel.
So many people have complained about this hotel when we were there, the queue everyday at reception about complaints. Don’t the managers or higher positions do anything about this? Or let it go over their heads?
Something seriously need sorting about this.
Sort your staff out !!

Hotel is over priced and rooms are filthy. I would not recommend, gives 2 star hotel vibes. The bathroom and bedding were not clean or comfy. This place houses more youth and hence it’s always noisy. The balcony’s door was even broken and everything was very dusty. The lift seemed like it would crash anytime. Please don’t stay here unless you really have no other option.

Not LGBT friendly.
Myself and my Boyfriend stayed at Catalonia for our Anniversary. We enjoyed the large pool, selection of food, cleanliness and ease of access throughout the hotel. However, the majority of staff there are not LGBT friendly. They made their opinions and judgements very clear to us.
The dining staff in their restaurant repeatedly asked us “have you paid, have you paid” as we were leaving. On one occasion we were chased out by a lady to “make sure you’ve paid”. Although we had already charged to the room.
Their restaurant have a “dress code” which we completely understand and can respect. On one night we went down for dinner and were denied entry due to the fact I was wearing a vest top. I went back to my room and changed and was allowed in. I was then very annoyed to find 4 men walking round wearing a vest top. Over the next few days there were more and more men wearing vest tops that I was denied entry for wearing.
One night I was going down to the pool and found myself stuck in the lift. I used the emergency phone inside the lift which contacted the front desk. They assured me someone was on their way to help me. I was waiting 30 minutes and had no response. I then heard people outside trying to get the doors open for around 5 minutes and they weren’t answering me. They then went off so I used the phone again and the lady at the desk said “they can’t find the lift” even though I heard people trying to get the doors open. Another 15 minutes or so had passed and someone came to open the doors. I then had to jump out of the broken lift (pictured).
Inside our room (308), in the corner by the air con, the paint was peeling off of the walls and the air con was discoloured a tar yellow. Unfortunately we did not get a picture of this.
We will not be staying here again.

10 out of 10 for a 3 star hotel. Nice relaxed atmosphere around the place. The staff are brilliant and very friendly throughout the hotel. You always get a nice welcome each day. My room was perfect with a brilliant view. The pool area is nice and the pool is warm. Good location to everything else in las Americas. A lovely stay and will return.

If I could give zero stars I would. Don’t know where to start. When we first arrived there was somebody at reception complaining that her sheets hadn’t been changed for five days and the cleaners hadn’t been in. We heard this a lot throughout our stay. We were given a room on the main road, which was more like a motorway. The balcony was not only extremely noisy but it smelt of drains and bins (there was a whole row of bins to the right of the balcony). I asked to be moved and we were moved the next day to a room with a pool view. The second night my daughter got food poisoning (we hadn’t eaten anywhere else other than the hotel). She was really unwell throughout the night. She barely ate anything else for the rest of the holiday. The next morning I photographed mould on the bread in the restaurant. I also barely ate anything as I’m vegetarian and choice was pretty non existent (chips, salad and vegetables). Whatever vegetables had been served in the evening were put back out for breakfast the next day. Sprouts, cauliflower, etc on the breakfast buffet?? Lights hanging out of the ceiling in restaurant, no hand gel. Drinks included with breakfast but not evening meal and very poor choice of drinks. Water pouring from ceiling in one of the corridors. Pool supposed to be heated but was freezing cold to the point where it actually took your breath away. Barely anybody went in the pool it was that cold. Woke up at 3am one morning to find cockroaches in the bathroom. Went down to reception and maintenance were sent to the room. The maintenance guy asked me for my shoe to hit the cockroaches, which I refused to give him. He took his own shoe off and hit them with that. I asked him if that was all he was going to do as that would not solve the problem going forward and did the hotel not have a spray? The guy said “no spray” and left. I eventually persuaded the hotel to spray the room. The next morning at 10.15am I was told the pest control were on their way. They eventually turned up at around 4pm and sprayed the room. We were given no advice as to when we could return to the room so we showered at the pool area (freezing cold shower). Sunbeds supposed to be put away at 6pm but the (rude and arrogant) lifeguard starts putting them away around 3.30pm, throwing them into pile so if you’re trying to relax forget it. The hotel is very shabby and dirty. Lots of Spanish guests in the hotel, who are favoured over the British guests. Lots of people complaining every day about various issues, usually the lack of maid service. AVOID THIS HOTEL.
* Note to hotel - if you’re going to respond to this review with one of your standard responses that fails to address any of the issues I’ve raised, please don’t. It just reinforces the impression that you do not care about any of your guests.
