The only real advantage of this hotel is its location—everything else falls short. You’re better off staying elsewhere in the area. This is nowhere near a 5-star experience. Right now, there’s major construction at the pool, making it noisy and unpleasant.
Instead of hiring security personnel (or using a combination of cameras and staff) to monitor entrances to the beach and garden, the hotel takes a cheap and inconvenient approach: they keep all doors to the outdoor areas locked and force guests through a maze of gates—three just to reach the beach. This does nothing to prevent unauthorized access, as anyone can easily slip in behind a guest. Proper security staff would solve this issue, but it’s clear no one considered the guest experience when designing this system.
Poor planning extends to the main entrance. If you park outside, there’s no pedestrian shortcut—you have to walk all the way around the vehicle access route to reach the main door.
The balconies have great potential, but they’re furnished with uncomfortable chairs and a tiny table, making them practically unusable. I would have loved to sit outside and read, but the setup just isn’t inviting.
The bathroom design is frustrating—there’s no plug for hair tools near the mirror, only a shaver outlet. And the mirror lighting? Terrible. Who designed this?
The breakfast room is a disappointment. It has no view, looks like a cafeteria, and lacks a relaxing atmosphere. Some staff members aren’t properly trained, leading to long waits—even for a simple coffee. A self-service coffee machine would easily fix this, but they seem more concerned with cutting costs than ensuring guest satisfaction. A recurring theme here.
Lastly, the attitude of some staff members leaves much to be desired. When checking out, all I got was a bland “OK, bye.” Not exactly the level of service you expect from a supposedly high-end hotel.
Overall, this place suffers from a lack of thoughtful design, poor service, and cost-cutting measures that directly impact guest comfort. Would not recommend.

Just returned today after 5 lovely days. What can I say, beds so comfortable, rooms spacious and have everything you need. Staff very helpful and always there when you need them. Food, as always with buffet style, could have been hotter but something for everyone, best buffet style at a hotel I've been to. A little out of the way and quite a long way to walk to places but used bolt, taxi service, that was fast and not expensive.

Wonderful Stay at VidaMar Hotel!
Our family had an absolutely fantastic time at Vida Mar Hotel in Algarve! We stayed for two days and nights, and everything about our visit exceeded expectations.
The pool area was a highlight for us, offering a relaxing and family-friendly atmosphere. Our child had a blast, and my wife and I loved the serene surroundings. The on-site restaurant was equally impressive, serving delicious food with attentive service.
One of the standout moments for me was the amazing massage I received. The spa team was incredibly professional, and the experience was both relaxing and rejuvenating.
VidaMar Hotel is a perfect destination for anyone looking to unwind and enjoy quality time with loved ones. We can’t wait to return!

We loved our stay here in December. We wanted a complete break before the New Year and enjoyed it. Service was good but not quite 5* only because there was no call for anyone to go above and beyond. Breakfast was a little too same every day and the one dinner we had was not what we had hoped for. Choice was not great in our opinion

Beautiful hotel, modernly finished rooms, helpful and nice staff. The hotel is located in a very good and beautiful location. There are many palm trees around the hotel, which add a nice atmosphere. The drinks in the bars are delicious as well as the food itself. There is a huge swimming pool. I highly recommend this hotel for a family vacation!
