This place beautiful and still a work in progress. I think they opened a bit prematurely because they didn’t want to loose on the season. There are still areas that are under development and staff still being trained. With that said, there was a pool guy (who was Asian) taking care of the pool as far as food, drinks, opening umbrellas, collecting towels, etc. I hate to write something bad, but he needs a lot of training and or put him in another position. The poor guy was a mess. Brought out wrong food, lost tickets, didn’t understand the menu or what we were ordering had to point and spell
It out for him because he literally had no idea what we were talking about. The restaurant food was amazing!! What great flavors and staff there. Honestly, aside from it not being fully functional and the pool guy, this was perfect. Steps to a beautiful beach with caves and amenities. I would love to come back to this hotel when it’s fully opened. The pools are great and there is a small kids pool so it’s super family friendly. Spectacular views from the roof top bar are a plus!

I recently enjoyed a fantastic five-day stay at this beautifully refurbished hotel with my three sisters. We booked two double rooms, but upon arrival, we were delighted to be upgraded. Even better, the rooms were connected by an internal door, making sharing belongings incredibly convenient. The hotel's modern decor and high-quality services created a luxurious atmosphere. The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. We took full advantage of both the indoor and outdoor pools, which were excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and would gladly return.
I'd also like to commend the hotel for their exceptional handling of a country-wide power outage during our visit. Thanks to their generator, we retained power, and they were even able to serve us dinner, unlike many other hotels in the area.
The hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes from the old town. We used Bolt for transport, which cost just €3-5 each way. Split between the four of us, this worked out to around £1 per person, making it a very affordable option.

We had an amazing stay at Kimpton Atlántico Algarve to celebrate my birthday. The hotel is excellent – our room was beautiful, spotless, and had a stunning beach view. The decor is elegant, the place is peaceful, and the healthy breakfast was delicious.
The staff were lovely and attentive, and they surprised me with an early birthday treat and a beautiful letter from the manager – such a thoughtful gesture! We’re extremely satisfied and would definitely come back.

This concludes our 4 nights stay at Kimpton in Albufeira. Half board. EDIT! Check your bills (after dinner) before signing anything, during check-out we had a massive bill from things we never ordered.
Check-in was very easy, the people working at front desk speak very well english and provide all the informations needed. If you register as a IHG Member you can benefit of a check-out at 1500h instead of 1200h free of charge.
-As for the rooms, they are big, look very stylish and have all you need. Negatives, the toilets need to be changed they are still probably from before the renovations since they don’t even have a soft close system and they basically don’t match the aesthetics of the room at all. You can hear room above you very well if they step around etc the noise cancellation is pretty non existenst. The towels are pretty new so they shed a lot. Amenities were not refilled after the room got cleaned.
- gym was pretty big and well equipped, we enjoyed it a lot
- sauna was not in operation yet so a bit of a let down
- outdoor pool are nice, 2 big ones and one for children
- beach acces via stairs 5 min very convenient
So now comes to what needs to be said the most. The service in the restaurant is really bad. There are only a few people who speak english very well, the others mostly pretend to speak it well and get your order wrong several times. During breakfast service, there is a buffet and a small a la carte menu where you order your eggs, juices, coffee, tea etc. During our 4 days, we basically got our order wrong 3/4 days. Out of those 3 days we were served by the same guy. Rui on the other hand is very experienced, speaks english very well, is quick. I would recommend you guys to just order with him and not with the chubby young dark skinned man.
After all the food tastes very good, for dinner i can recommend all the dishes and the deserts are to die for.
To sum it up, it’s a hotel which has a lot of potential, they just have to improve their service a lot, speed things up and hire qualified people instead of people with no service background at all.
I hope to see better reviews coming after the hotel opens all of it restaurants and amenities.

Everything is top notch at this refurbished hotel. Every member of staff were professional knowledgeable and helpful. Only thing I would say is maybe the restaurant needs to expand the menu. I'm sure this will be addressed. Well done everyone. We will be back.
