Stayed 3 nights in a Superior Sea View Room (highly recommend). Was pleasantly surprised with the service, location and beautiful ocean views. Loved sitting on our balcony and listening to the waves throughout the day and night. Very secure location to the property. Free parking. Access to a beautiful beach you can walk each morning or evening for the sunset. The bartender poolside was very pleasant and talented in making delightful cocktails (try a pitcher of the sparkling white sangria as you enjoy the pool). The breakfast buffet had a great variety each morning. Dinner was very good too (maybe a bit pricey, but good to try one night on your stay). The staff were very helpful and always so kind. It may be a little dated in some of it's interior, but you can certainly overlook with the lovely ocean views, great beach, price and excellent service by the staff. I will return if/when we return to this area again. Also, try out the Mediterraneamente Pizzeria down the street from Pestana - excellent dinner and service!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Pestana Praia. The staff were amazing. The breakfast was fab especially the fruit, cheese, bread and the omelette. It was a magical experience for us. Thank you so much.

Wonderful hotel! It kept the old architectural features and all spaces are comfortable. Cozy rooms, delicious and varied breakfast. Roms with sea view were amazing. Staff iis really nice and always happy!! I’ll definitely be back!!

This is definitely NOT a 5 star hotel. 2 stars maximum. The hotel is old (1968 build), the beds are very old and hard, the towels are old, but the worst part is the air conditioning that does not work. We complained numerous times about the A/C and it wasn't fixed until halfway into our 5 night stay, and even when it would start working, it would cut off again. Given that it was 80F / 27C outdoors, it was just too hot to sleep properly and we had a horrible rest. The staff was friendly and tried to show effort in helping, but it was clear that the A/C system is just extremely old, ineffective and not fit for use. The hotel needs to be gutted and refurbished into a 5 star, but in it's current state it is 2 star. The 1970's carpeting and furniture definitely do not help. I wish we stayed elsewhere. If you read other recent reviews, you will see complaints about the air conditioning as well. Terrible.

This is a Lovely hotel, lovely and polite, friendly staff members. The atmosphere is quite luxurious. An all round wonderful hotel, I would definitely recommend staying in this hotel.
