On Valentine's night we booked the 'Timeless Romance' meal in The One restaurant.
The food was outstanding, the attention to detail and the wonderful staff made it a night to remember. Each of the 5 courses was served on stylish plates.
My husband opted for the wine pairings menu and the wines were absolutely delicious, I know because I had a sip of each glass.
After the meal we went into the bar where there was a man and woman who sang beautifully, her singing and his guitar playing made the evening complete. The drinks served were perfect and the accompanying bowl of nuts and chips were divine.
The bar and restaurant overlook the cliffs and the ocean, there is an indoor and outdoor bar, the outdoor bar has flaming braziers to keep people warm.
In this hotel every little attention to detail is given.
The location, with the hotel built into the cliffs is world class. It was a privilege to spend an evening at The Tivoli.
If I were asked for 1 thing which stands out above all about The Tivoli Hotel I would say that it is the staff, they are lovely people.

We traveled all over Portugal and stayed in various hotels, but this was by far the best place we experienced. The rooms matched the photos perfectly, and the staff were friendly and incredible. The location is phenomenal, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. We can’t comment on the restaurant for dinner since we didn’t eat there, The bartender Samuel makes some of the most amazing drinks, He truly is a mixologist. Ricardo if I got the name correct was The Porter & was extremely helpful with giving us advice on locations to try and even handing us an umbrella when it was drizzling, this place really makes you feel like home. You definitely have to give it a shot. Thanks team
See you soon.

I'll start out by saying that this hotel's location is perfectly central for exploring so much of the Algarve. The view from the nearby cliff was wonderful. It's a quick walk into town and the free parking was an easy bonus for us. However we were rather disappointed with many aspects of the resort overall.
This may have been a 5 star hotel at one point in time but things seem rather outdated now. The original room we were given was not clean and we had to ask to be moved to a less nice room that was luckily at least much cleaner but the staff did not even apologize for the problem.
My partner and I both work in the hospitality industry and we found the service at both the front desk and the bar/restaurants to be lacking. We both understand that working in hospitality can at times be stressful but we found much of the staff to be rather apathetic.
We realized that booking during the off season might result in some of the amenities being closed but we were sad to not find out until we got there that the rooftop bar was completely closed. The pool was open the first day of our stay but then was abruptly closed the next which was a disappointment with the weather being very nice still. It would have been nice to have a heads up or a discount on our stay due to the lack of amenities.
TLDR: Great location but lacking in comfort, customer service and off season amenities. Probably a better deal during high season but if you're looking for luxury, I'd look elsewhere.

I just spent 3 wonderful nights/days at Tivoli Carvoeiro and loved every minute of it. From the front desk help to the restaurant, bar and doormen workers, everyone was very pleasant, professional and practiced attention to detail which I value immensely.
The room was very spacious, the bed extremely comfortable and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in hotels of this category.
The view of the hotel is breathtaking and one never gets tired of seeing it. I truly recommend this hotel for a romantic stay or for a solo adventure.

The 4 stars are mostly for location, which is breathtakingly scenic and has all best restaurants and beaches within walking distance.
Most staff are friendly and nice.
Always book sea facing rooms here as rooms on opposite side face garage and inner streets.
