I'm a travel agent and travel a lot with my job.
Other reviews are correct it's more of a basic 3*, rather than a 4*. I believe the rating is from the old rating, where the ratings were based on what they offer a customer, which have now changed since TripAdvisor.
Back in the day, you can see that this was a really good hotel. But very little has been done to it since, with its up keep and moderation.
✈️If you like your holidays based on staying at your hotel on an all inclusive. I don't think this is the hotel for you. The facilities are nothing compared to modern day 4* all inclusive hotels,
✈️If you are someone who just uses the hotel as a base. This is great, as the kitchen is basic but enough for what you need and a large supermarket and fast food options just a short walk away. Beach and old town Albufeira is about a 10minute walk down hill.
TIP) For about six Euros all day use, there is the tourist train. Pick up a short walk away and it's good for getting around. Takes you to the beach area and another 4 points. Great if you are trying to save time if on a short trip.

We are here now and have 4 nights in total at this hotel. Honestly it’s not as bad as some of the reviews make it out to be, you get what you pay for it’s a cheap getaway. It definitely isn’t a 4 star 3 star at most. Rooms are dated and worn but still very good to stay in. Location is great everything is within walking distance from the hotel. Staff were lovely when checking us in. Would I stay again for another cheap getaway? Yes.

Big, massive hotel, great room size. Good English breakfast and cereal. However, the pictures online are far from reality on the ground.
The room I was in with my partner had a single bed, and we were made to understand that this is how all the rooms are. We requested that the bed arrangement should be changed to a double size.
The TV remote wasn't working, which made it a bit of a challenge to either switch the TV on or off. We could only have it either way when we were in bed.
The room intercom is not working; you have to go to the reception to pass your message.
If you are not careful, if you close the sliding door behind you on the balcony, hotel staff would have to let you back into your room, depending on the time of the lockout.
The outside pool was quiet, probably due to the period we visited, but the indoor pool was busy, as the kids and adults enjoyed the indoor splash.
As hotel guests, it was also a surprise for me to have to pay €8 to use the gym. Aside from that, should there be an emergency in the gym, there are no clear directions to the emergency exit from the gym.
In my opinion, the rating I would give the facility out of 5 is 3.5.

NASTY NASTY NASTY! MOUSE POOP AND COCKROACHES! DO NOT STAY HERE!
I booked this hotel on booking.com and have never been catfishes this hard. The photos make this place out to be luxurious. Man were the photos wrong. It was dirty and gross inside the lobby, smelled like cigarette smoke and mold as soon as you walked in, the hallways also had the same smell, many of the features were broken and left unrepairared. The room is where it got real nasty, MOUSE POOP on the bathroom countertop, and dead cockrouches in the corners of the bathroom left for the guests to look at I guess, the beds have staining and signs of bed bugs. I immediately grabbed my stuff and asked to check out, the hotel has refused to refund me! DO NOT STAY HERE. Worst customer service I have ever recieved in my life. I advised all of my friends and family coming to Portugal to stay away from this hotel.

Rooms are very basic but the hotel is large with a lot in it. The gym is €8 per use which is pretty annoying although the women stated it’s an outside company, I would expect a hotel that is 4 stars to offer a gym included in the price. The tattoo studio offers photos with no price and no one around to speak to. The indoor pool is brilliant and great for winter. The outdoor pool was quiet but it was not warm weather.
Had Santa’s grotto for the children & music playing in the bar area.
The room had everything we needed for a 3 night stay with a store in the hotel which was good.
I assume in summer this hotel could be great even more than the 3 star I am giving due to seeing a lot of stuff for children and a pool bar that is closed for the season. We did not pay a lot of money to come here so I would say it’s great value.
