We have just come back from 10 days in this wonderful hotel we’ve been coming here for over 10 years and it’s always been the same great staff and the food is always exceptional with the buffet breakfast and snacks in the downstairs cafe? The bar is always well stocked and Louis is a great bartender. This year I brought my sister and Brother in law for four days and they were very impressed with the hotel and as requested the hotel gave me the rooms I requested 407 and 408 which I tend to like .

Bare bones of a hotel. Perhaps it was because I visited in low season, but it felt as if everything was pared back. Coffee pods and water after the first night is no longer complimentary. Food was average at best.
That said, the location is fantastic. Right on the beach. I’m not a fan of the balcony design as it partly obstructs the view. Looking past this, the view is indeed stunning. The beach is clean, with gorgeous golden sands and turquoise waters. Locals walk their happy dogs on the beach in the mornings, very cute.
The room I stayed in was clean and the bed was comfortable. The waterfall shower head was not working and I was stuck with just handheld. That said, the water pressure and temperature was decent. No utensils apart from cups. Internet was spotty. Service was ok. 6/10.

Great short break here, hotel, staff, facilities and location are brilliant. Rooms cleaned daily, overall the hotel was clean, airy and welcoming. Right on the beach too with sunbeds available at reasonable price for a whole day. Beach towels available for a deposit which you get back at the end of the holiday.
Food was ok, lots of choice, we were on b&b.
Great location for getting around plenty of local bars and restaurants close by.
Unfortunately the weather was not good so cut break short.

Absolutely loved our holiday at the Sol e Mar. The staff from Reception to dining room staff and the cleaning ladies absolutely brilliant. We came for a week for my Daughters birthday and we have really enjoyed staying at this lovely hotel. Brilliant team and thank you for looking after us so well. We are 2 couples touring All of Portugal, we stayed at multiple beautiful locations and the people have been wonderful. Unfortunately when we arrived to Sol e Mar everything changed . I will start by stating the positive , the hotel is in a perfect location right on the beach with a beautiful view. The staff was very pleasant and helpful . Now ill explain the problem with this hotel ;the manager and the cleanliness and hygiene of the rooms . When we arrived at our rooms there was a horrible odor all over the room coming from the bathroom , it smelled like sewage . We had two rooms , both rooms smelled equally terrible. The bathtubs were full of mold on the floor and ceiling. We immediately went to the front desk and expressed our dissatisfaction, we were told there was nothing they could do to just open the sliding door to let air in . When you were in the bathroom you cold here the rumbling noises coming from the sewage We stayed 2 days, both days we asked if there was something they could do , they sprayed air freshener but obviously this did not correct the root cause , sewage fumes coming up to the rooms . They never offered to change our rooms , which leads us to believe this was not unique to our rooms . On our last day the manager , Luis , was available, we asked to speak to him to express our concerns and dissatisfaction. He was rude, did not want to listen and yelled back at us to report it to the booking agency . I showed him the pictures of the unsanitary conditions, he walked away .We loved Portugal and the 6 other hotels we stayed at , it is unfortunate that we experienced this terrible service at this hotel . I encourage you to visit Albufeira but stay away from Sole e Mar .
