We are staying for 2 nights in the Quarteirasol hotel in Quarteira.
We visited Portugal already 2 weeks last year so we know what we can expect concerning service, food and accomodation.
Unfortunately this hotel is not worth a 4 star ranking.
We are used to travel every month to 4 or 5 star ranking hotels but this one is only worth a 2 star ranking.
We have a standard room that is small but also extremely dark. When the curtains are closed and all the lights are on, it is still very dark that you can barely see something. (the photo is when the curtains are open but the view is really bad). Only the bathroom is bright enough but here the Windows cannot be opened so it is not possible to get some fresh air in the bathroom. This is really annoying.
The hotel has the clean reward but the rooms are not clean enough to receive such a 'clean reward'.
The room is definitely not a place to relax since it is really depressing.
You better only sleep in the room but the room is not a nice place to relax.
We contacted the hotel by mail in advance but we did not receive an answer so this is also poor customer service.
I only write a review when a place is very good or bad and unfortunately in this case, I do not recommend this.

Pillows and mattresses are comfy.
Electric wires are not safe and there are not enough plugs in the rooms, e.g. there was one available for all mobiles and laptops.
Breakfast layout was strange and you had to walk around to find things. The coffee was below average.

The hotel is less than 5 minutes to the beach. Is opposite bus and taxi station.
The breakfast is very good. The reception staff and housekeepers easy to talk to if you need something. The housekeeper lady spoke English and Spanish wich was a pleasant surprise ( some hotels the reception staff cannot speak a foreign language).
The room was a good size with ocean view.
Unfortunately the breakfast staff is very young and they don't speak other languages. I managed to find everything around myself but is nice to communicate when you need to.

Be careful with this hotel. Rooms do NOT reflect the pictures on the web site. You are looking at abandoned buildings and have a parcial sea view. The Reception is not helpful to find a solution

Stayed her for 4 days. Location is not bad. We are one minute walk to the beach. Staff are very friendly. Breakfast is very nice and a lovely choice of breakfast. Rooms are ok. Beds comfortable, TV, hair dryer and fridge. It is in a good location for us. Short stroll to Vilamora. .. as a lot of holidays tourists from vilamora make their way down here for the more reasonable prices of food and drink. A quarteira hotel is worth checking out.... I will be back!
