Huge resort with great staff and only 10 mins from airport. Regular planes overhead but can't say they bothered us.
Advertised as 5 star but only just 4 star in most areas. Bathrooms need updating. Rooms adequate but clean. Royal level worth paying more for with regards to food service and pool options but pool area only open for towel change/drinks at 11am. Far too late. No rush for sunbeds & plenty available. Dolce Vita restaurant was lovely.
Food is fine but self service hotplate food always luke warm. Mugs in room don't fit under coffee maker so totally pointless.
Numerous cockroaches in bathroom first night so moved to a lake view room, but so many midges outside we couldn't use the balcony.
Would we return? No. Resort much too big for us, minibar chargeable if you want it restocked - even though all inclusive, Royal level isn't adults only and we'd prefer places to walk to as it's a resort with nothing to do nearby. Staff outshone the resort

I needed a relaxing getaway while working remotely, and Barceló Tenerife was the perfect place for it. The staff was wonderful across the board, but I especially want to commend the gentleman at Breeze Bar who served me every time—he was phenomenal! I loved the variety of free daily activities, along with the opportunity to go on excursions. The spa was absolutely perfect, and the food was excellent. I can't wait to return soon with my husband!
Two suggestions that could enhance the resort experience:
- Cleaning of public areas: I noticed quite a bit of dust and spiderwebs, particularly in my room, common areas, and at Buffet Drago.
- Service at Buffet Drago during dinner: I came across other reviews mentioning slow service during dinner, and I experienced it myself. Having worked in the service industry, I completely understand that dinner is the busiest time. I even saw what seemed to be the manager and bar staff stepping in to help, which shows great teamwork. However, it might help to have additional staff scheduled during the dinner rush to improve service efficiency.

Stayed here for 6 nights, absolutely lovely staff very attentive and knowledgeable about the resort. Enterainment was very good, particularly the Barry White tribute and the Freddie Mercury tribute. Luca was fantastic, always friendly and informative. Jamel was very efficient and served us promptly. The rooms were nice and spacious, and toiletries were high quality. Breakfast and lunch are very good but dinner could do with some focus. The heated pool is fantastic, however it did get quite windy. 5/5 ⭐️

Brilliant hotel, initially it felt like a maze but once we figured out where to go it was fun. Lots of walking around inside the hotel. The food was nice and they had themed nights at Drogo.
Every night there would be some show and evenings fun masterclasses on local themes including making barraquito coffee, aqua gym in the pools, wine tasting, bingo, kayaking etc. There was an acrobatic performance one night.
The animation team is incredible!!
The Barcelo app imo is a very nice thing they have, it also lets you order from housekeeping or booking dinner breakfast inside the hotel.
I think on the website all inclusive can be defined better(does not include the ala carte hotels).
The staff was friendly and helpful.
Metered taxis from the TFS airport is approx 20euro.
The area is quiet and far from the heavily tourist areas like costa adeje.

We stayed here for a few days in March 2025 for our babymoon and had a lovely time! Just wanted to relax, eat and do nothing:)
Positives:
- the resort is beautifully designed! Lots of pools and therefore lots of quite places around the pools to relax.
- the room was very nice and spacious! The bed very big and comfortable with lots of pillows. Each balcony has a nice view! Big bathroom with bath and big towels! Overall very good!!
- enough bars through the resort where you can get drinks all day long. We stayed all-inclusive and therefore had all the drinks all-inclusive too. We enjoyed the cocktails, mocktails, soda’s, wine and beers. They weren’t shy with their serving portions and good service!
- many activities during the day and entertainment at night around the resort, or you could book excursions through them.
- big pool towels, which you can easily swap for new ones
Some points of improvement:
- the food at the buffet restaurant wasn’t anything special.. we didn’t have the royal level or tried any of the a la carte restaurants so couldn’t tell you how they are. But the buffet was quite average. Don’t go here if you are looking for good food during your stay. Some of the foods weren’t tasty or any good and there were not that many options. Every night they have a different theme but it’s just a very small section, the rest is every night pretty much the same. Although did find some nice things every meal (breakfast, lunch, dinner). And the chefs made sure nothing went empty and was filled up quickly during the meal times.
- Also the snacks; very poor. Wasn’t any good and everyday the same junkfood
- reserving pool beds….. there are signs everywhere throughout the resort that you are not allowed to reserve the sunbeds but many people did. And we were only in low season, there were plenty of beds available anyway… but sometimes the good ones were left ‘empty’ for a few hours during the day because people left their stuff on it. Disappointing that the staff didn’t do anything, even when they have this rule and the signs say so.
- just one of the pools is heated 🙈 so it was more busy at that pool to swim at. But not everyone mind I guess
- keep in mind that airplanes fly over all day because the airport is obviously close by.
