We were here and it was Perfect. The Rooms were clean, modern, comfortable and well maintained. We had 3 Bedrooms with each bedroom having its own Bathroom which was great. The garden was big and we had our very own Whirlpool. The Breakfast was very good. It was a very big Buffet and a little Menu which was a great addition to the Buffet. And besides the rooms was everything clean and also well maintained. However the restaurants in the Resort are good but very very expensive. You have a free shuttle that drives you everywhere in the Resort.
North London Calling
Not even one star for this location. We arrived Saturday night to an ant infestation, there was food left uncovered and my kids three young kids and myself were screaming. I had to tidy up after travelling from the USA to London to Tenerife. I called housekeeping and reception the entire night and nobody came. I had to go to the local supermarket instead of unpacking and enjoying my family who I hadn’t seen for a year and clean up this ant infestation myself. When I had finished this i then explored the apartment to find there is a portent disgusting sewage smell lingering around all of the bathroom and the bedrooms. Even my 6 year old is complaining about this. I have tried to call reception but they are too busy checking in guests to help me. I am on day three of my stay and still in the room that stinks with sewage. I am annoyed I have a night flight home from this place. I can’t wait to leave.

Las Terrazas de Abama Suites is a beautiful hotel, with lovely views of the golf course, sea and La Gomera island. The apartments are comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. We self-catered for a week and found the apartment’s kitchen facilities to be everything we needed. They even gave us a free upgrade to a two-bed apartment, which was fantastic.
Location-wise it’s not within walking distance of much, so you’ll either need your own transport or to rely on taxis, tours and transfers (the latter is what we did). There is a small shop on-site, which fills the gaps but you couldn’t do a full week’s food shop there.
We stayed there the first week of March 2025, and had mixed weather, but two of the three pools are heated so we were able to swim every day and the pools weren’t at all crowded. The indoor gym is well-equipped, with amazing views over the sea, and also wasn’t busy at all when I used it. There’s also a free shuttle down to the local beach, which is a great perk.
Finally, the food - this section is more specific to vegan travellers. My partner and I are both vegan, and we chose to stay here because of the opportunity to self-cater in a comfortable hotel environment, and it fulfilled that completely. We didn’t use the on-site restaurants for lunch or dinner (which are really your only options if you don’t have a car or self-cater), so I can’t comment on those but they didn’t have many enticing vegan options on their published menus.
We went for the room rate which includes breakfast, but if you’re self-catering I’d probably say you could provide the same things for yourself. The breakfast spread is great for people without dietary requirements/preferences, and if you eat dairy and eggs then you also have good options, but for vegans it’s quite limited. There weren’t any vegan options on the a la carte menu, and in the buffet the options are fruit, salad, bread, cereal, and non-dairy milks. On request, in lieu of the menu items they provided grilled vegetables, baked beans and avocado, to go with the buffet options. The staff were helpful and always provided an option, but compared to some more vegan-friendly hotels I’ve stayed at the options here were more limited.
In summary, I’d definitely recommend staying in this beautiful hotel. I’d be very happy to stay again, but as a vegan (fully appreciate that’s my own choice!) I’d probably 100% self-cater next time.

Our experience at this hotel was truly exceptional! The serene and well-maintained pools provided a perfect, private escape for relaxation, contributing to the overall luxury of the stay. Surrounded by lush palm trees and vibrant flowers, the views were breathtaking, making every moment feel like paradise. The dining options were diverse and delicious, offering something new to enjoy each day. While the golf course added to the scenic beauty of the property, the well-equipped tennis and padel courts made it easy to stay active.
