We stayed in Apartment #5 at Playa Palmeras for a week. Overall, we were surprised that TUI has graded this hotel as 4*.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The beds were comfortable and the fresh salads each day were lovely.
However, there were several issues that were unexpected
• The curtains in our room were filthy.
• Our apartment was on the side of a busy road. As a light sleeper, the traffic noise made it difficult for me to sleep. However its not the hotel’s fault
• Drinks were served in small plastic cups, and you are required to pay a €1 deposit refunded at checkout.
• There was no entertainment provided during the entire week.
• After checking out, there were no shower facilities despite our flight not being until 7pm.
• There was no proper luggage storage; our cases were left at reception all day.
• The hotel is located on a hill, which may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.
• The shower needs careful attention when in use, as if you leave it running while soaping up, the bathroom can easily flood.
While the staff and some aspects of the stay were positive, the overall experience did not feel in line with a 4* rating. We stayed in Apartment #5 at Playa Palmeras for a week. Overall, we were surprised that TUI has graded this hotel as 4*.

We’ve just returned from a fantastic stay at Plaza Palmeras in Lanzarote, and we’re already talking about going back! The whole experience was incredibly enjoyable and made for a perfect holiday.
Our room was spacious, tidy, and very comfortable throughout our stay. The housekeeping team deserves real credit—our room was maintained daily, always spotless, and restocked with everything we needed. Their attention to detail made a big difference.
The food on offer was consistently tasty, with plenty of options at each meal. Whether you’re a picky eater or someone who likes to try a bit of everything, there was always something enjoyable available.
My only small gripe is that the dishes could occasionally feel a little similar from day to day, and a touch more variety would have taken it from great to exceptional. Still, the overall quality was very good and we never left a meal disappointed.
A special shout-out absolutely has to go to Sam, the entertainer. He brought so much energy, enthusiasm, and positivity every single day. His commitment to keeping guests engaged and smiling made a huge impact on our experience. Sam genuinely raises the atmosphere of the whole place — he definitely deserves a raise!
Plaza Palmeras offered everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday: comfortable rooms, good food, a friendly atmosphere, and top-notch entertainment. We’d definitely stay again without hesitation!

Definitely not 4star as sold as. Beds comfortable, rooms tired, outdated and needs some TLC. Location is great, plenty of sunbeds. Food is only ok. Everything is cold. Even if you’re there first. Snack’s advertised in the afternoon are, 1 bowl of peanuts, 1 bowel of crisps, some small pastries and about a dozen ham and cheese sandwiches.

Great location but sadly the hotel is aged and in need of some repair and decoration. Food was good and had a reasonable variety. Staff were generally pleasant but some need a lesson in customer services. Sam did his best to entertain people but without him there was very little else to do and the outside pool bar area was uncomfortable with plastic seating. We were All Inclusive and drinks were plentiful but cheap local stuff and we didn't like the small plastic cup idea or the €1 deposit for them. Plenty of sun loungers and they are well spread out around a decent pool area. More of a 2 star hotel but if decorated an slightly modernised it would rate as the advertised 3 star hotel. We just needed to relax and the hotel served this purpose but highly unlikely we'd return again.
