Brilliant for kids, the entertainment team are fantastic and really made the experience! There is a lovely range of activities for both children and adults, the staff and other guests seem to all be friendly and respectful of one another. The food was good and there are really good local restaurants too. Rooms are a little tired but overall clean and suit their purpose. Great shuttle to the old town/beach and easy walk into the strip/bars & restaurants

Not overly impressed the hotel is very nice, our room is OK apart from the balcony view we look on to a caged fire escape, very up hill, loads of restaurants not many shops. Weather is expected to be high winds rain and may be flooding. Hotel is very clean they are always cleaning. Food is OK.

This would have been our second visit to this hotel and the first time would have been 5star all the way, but the hotel Cleanliness has gone downhill, especially the maid service, so has the food isn’t as nice as the previous year. I do want to say the staff are very friendly and polite. The hotel rooms are very nice and spacious. Great location to all things. Fantastic little eatery on the corner of the street!!!

General manager was rude and disrespectful to his guests. Makes up his own rules which are not stated anywhere in the hotel. Had no consideration for his passing guests and as you can see from his replies to other reviews similar to mine he is not concerned about bad reviews or people's concerns which is worrying at best. My mum was unwell and we were waiting for our airport taxi. She laid her head down on the sofa indoors and he woke her up saying it was not allowed. There was only one other guest sat down indoors who said the general manger was unacceptable and rude. Broken grates on the floor by the pool have not been fixed in 6 days after being reported which are sharp and can cause injury. Fire escape door latches are broken and not fixed in 3 days. We like well presented and well cooked food. Not fast food. We got bored in 2 days, same food and some was very over cooked and not nice. Watery pasta sauce, lasagne was disgusting. I understand the 2 drink max for alcohol drinks but soft drinks when we are a large group is a bit silly. Wouldn't also fill our own cool mugs. They would rather waste money on plastic and paper cups, not very eco green is it... Rooms were not cleaned very well. After heavy dirty rain or balcony was not cleaned at all, very disappointed. Also we had to go 24 hours without hand soap refill which for a COVID conscious hotel is disgraceful and disgusting. Entertainment team do their best but evenings are very ropey. More interested in the French guests. There is a free shuttle bus to the beach which is good and the driver is very considerate. Definitely not a 4 star 3 star at best. If you are currently staying here go to the pizza pasta restaurant outside hotel or the steak house with bull outside, very good food at good prices.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Sol Albufeira, and it was by far the worst hotel experience I've ever had. From the moment I arrived, the staff were unfriendly and shockingly rude, particularly the manager. Their severe lack of basic interpersonal skills and courtesy was nothing short of appalling. I’ve never encountered such an unwelcoming atmosphere in all my travels. As someone who stays in hotels nearly every week, I expect a certain level of customer service, and this hotel fell woefully short. The behavior of the staff was disturbing and, quite frankly, disgusting. It was so bad that I decided to cut my visit short and leave within an hour of arriving. If you value being treated with even the slightest bit of respect, I would strongly advise you to avoid Sol Albufeira. This hotel is a prime example of how not to run a hospitality business.
