I have stayed here many times. This will be the last. They no longer allow dining at any restaurants outside of Sunscape. Previously we enjoyed the buffet at the sister property next door. The front desk staff was only interested in getting us to upgrade and have a timeshare presentation to be able to use the additional restaurants. It is now $10 per day per person to use the pier. Service at the restaurants was very poor. Multiple times we had to ask to receive water or Coke. One dining experience we had to go to the bar to get our own drinks because they were never brought after multiple requests. Menu selections are very limited and don't change much throughout the week. Even with the menu selections being limited often times menu items were not available because they had run out. Our incoming flight was delayed and we had to check in a day late. Sunscape refused a refund of the one day even though I called to tell them about our flight issue. Management denied our request for a refund for one day. We put in two requests to have our toilet fixed and our refrigerator fixed. We finally were able to get them to come after 10:00 p.m. to look at both. The toilet was never fixed. It continually ran unless we jiggled the handle and it squealed every time it was filling up. The refrigerator needed to be replaced because it wasn't keeping our drinks cold. They finally brought a replacement after 11:00 p.m. They do have a nice beach and the rooms are peacefully quiet. To bad that the customer service and support are lacking.

I've been visiting Cozumel to dive for over 20 years and have stayed at most of the major resorts. Shortly after we arrived (day 1), I contracted the flu. By the second day, I had a fever of 102. My wife asked the front desk if there would be a discount if we cut our trip short by 6 days. They asked her to fill out a form and said they would submit it for a refund. So, we packed up, checked out, and left. After getting home, we found out the management declined any refund. Apparently, they prefer spreading illness to all their other gusts. I've never been so sick in my entire life and wouldn't wish it on any people trying to enjoy their vacations. I can't imagine why they would want to submit their guests to anything like it.
As far as the grounds. They are very pretty with a lot of landscape. However, there are not enough beach chairs. Every morning guests take their towels, and/or some items and stake out the chairs. Even though half of them are not using them. So, if you show up on the beach past 9AM you're not getting a chair. And this was not during peak.
If you're a diver, there's nowhere to wash/dry your gear. At least I didn't see anything. The more expensive rooms have balconies, but they are shaded.
The food was surprisingly good. Breakfast was buffet style, but lunch and dinner were served from a menu. I would have given a 4* if not for the false hope we were given on a refund.

First, location is beautiful. However, I’m given this resort 2 stars because of the service with the exception of 3 waiters/servers (Antonio) they treated us very well, but The food was awful. I believe it has been the worst I’ve had at an all inclusive resorts. For days, they had the same menu. It never changed. It got boring really quick. One day we ordered food, it took over an hour to get our food. In addition, it is not very kid friendly like other all inclusive hotels. The beds were not comfortable at all. The air conditioner was always leaking which my child fell (from the water dripping) but thankfully didn’t get hurt. We told them about it, but maintenance said to keep the temp. at 23 degrees C (73 degrees F) so it would not leak. It’s a hot/humid place, really.

Our family of 6 just got back from our stay ant the Sunscape Sabor. The resort is older and run down. The food was ok. Breakfast was a buffet style but most of the food was left over food repurposed from the night before along with some eggs. There are 2 restaurants on the resort and they keep almost the same menu each night but you don't need a reservation. Some of the staff was attentive and worked hard and some of the staff didn't pay attention and spent more time on their phones than they did assisting guests. The beach has a wonderful view but there is seaweed and it smells. The staff rakes the seaweed right back into the water each morning so it is a never ending cycle. The entry into the water is rocky and water shoes are almost a must. If you are hoping for a nice sandy shallow entry you won't find that here. The snorkeling in front of the resort is good due to the rocks and you will see many various species of fish. The weather and snorkeling made up for the rest of the things. This is definitely not a 4 star resort.

This resort used to be a great place to stay. It is now a bait and switch. We paid for 8 days all inclusive. No buffet, 2 restaurants. They upgraded us to the new resort THEY OWN next door for an additional $700. Not what we were expecting since we stayed here before.
