We went last night as a large family. They were able to accommodate everything. The chef did a great job! Very impressive. Our waitresses Lucia and Virginia were fantastic and very attentive. They had several tables to serve and kept up with everything with wonderful cheerful demeanor! Great place!!!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Tokyo restaurant, and I must say, the service provided by Cristina and Lucia was outstanding. From the moment we sat down, both waiters were warm, attentive, and went above and beyond to make sure our experience was perfect.
Cristina was quick to offer helpful suggestions from the menu and made us feel like valued guests. Lucia's attention to detail was remarkable—she ensured every aspect of our meal was exactly as we wanted, checking in regularly but never being intrusive.
Together, Cristina and Lucia created a seamless dining experience. Their professionalism, coupled with their friendly demeanor, made our visit truly special. I can't recommend this restaurant enough, thanks to their exceptional service!

At the restaurant Capitan Morgan our server Franklin Canche was amazing! He was very attentive and brought us everything we needed. He also had a welcoming smile on his face. Will definitely hope to cross paths with him again :)
Georgina at Buffet Caribe is literally the most amazing person ever!!!! We had her multiple times throughout the trip at the buffet and every time we saw her it made our day. She remembered us throughout the trip and made us feel very welcome every time. We always tried to sit in her section because of how fantastic she is as a person. Would definitely recommend trying to get her as your server !!!

We visited this resort back in August of 2024. The surroundings are more modern looking outside, it is NOT a romantic type of resort.
+ The sheets were nice, crispy, had no smell
+ Nice beach, no rocks and not much seaweed. The water was lukewarm even during rain - very pleasant.
+ Staff was nice and accommodating
+ Water bottles were constantly replaced inside the room
+ The rooms didn’t smell moldy or wet
+ Ivan was our frequent server at the buffet and did an amazing job!
+ The sunsets are the most beautiful, especially from the top of Barcelo Maya Palace!
- The water slide at the kids area was nearly broken, but it wasn’t closed for repair
- The water park and some other activities were not a part of the package, cost extra
- All buffets had the same food, but we ate only in 1 particular (don’t remember the name). The cooks definitely were more experienced there
- Some servers at the buffet were not very attentive, didn’t clear the dishes nor offered drinks. Not a big deal, but compared to, for example, Ivan, didn’t really want to do this job.
Overall, I’d give this resort a 4.5 stars.

We went to Tokyo restaurant to celebrate our wedding. It was the best experience I have ever had in my life. Carlos gave a spectacular show and the food was the best we have ever had. Our servers Jeromina & Noemi were amazing, and went above and beyond for our group. We now want to come everyday until we leave! If you are coming to Barcelona Maya resorts, the Tokyo restaurant is my recommendation for everyone visiting.
