Our stay here has been wonderful, we enjoyed La Comedie the most of all the restaurants. What made it especially excellent were our waiters Jose Hernandez & Juan Velazquez. We had a lot of food restrictions in our group and they went above and beyond with every dish for us, I really am so grateful for this experience and their expertise. Thank you both for making this a memorable trip with some amazing food!

Family of 13 went for a week in September,
Pros:
Lovely large clean rooms
Great water pressure and hot water
Beautiful clean spotless grounds
No problem getting loungers or seats anywhere (probably the time of year)
Friendly, helpful and wonderful staff
Great selection at Buffet, for non Gluten Free.
The other restaurants had a good but limited GF menu and all food arrived at the same time. So we all ate at the same time.
None of the GF got sick which is wonderful
Enjoyed the restaurants that we visited
Especially the Tokyo
The young fellow who was at premium in palace was so helpful and wonderful, the manager in the buffet who helped our gf group at breakfast tried his best, and our waiter Misael Hernandez and crew were great (the rest of the names I have lost, sorry)
Premium lounge was nice
Highly recommend for families the kids had a blast.
Beach was cleaned very quickly when needed
Cons:
Check in was slow, but the fellow who helped us when it was our turn was wonderful
Coffee bar needed, please!
Gluten Free service at buffet was painfully slow. Not a lot of selection for kids who are GF, ie gf pizza or chicken nuggets, wings etc. Found ordering room service actually meant that we all ate together.
You app needs help, very useless

We stayed a week as a family at Maya beach and overall had some good times but I am not sure if we would return after our first experience. I will start with the positives but will also highlight the BIG negatives of the resort.
The good -
The beach is beautiful (yes seaweed at times BUT resort cleans), it is great having access to 4 resorts, the poolside hammocks are a great place to relax. The pools are great and well loved by our children. Gardens are beautiful. There were a number of staff who made our stay much better. When you receive a staff member who smiles and is friendly they stand out in this hotel.
SAMANTHA MATUS from activities is a ray of sunshine 🌞 she made great conversation, she was interested and engaged with us whenever we went to hire sport equipment and my boys and I felt so welcome by her. Regina in premium level was always friendly, smiling and happy to help. housekeeping made us smile everyday with them arranging my sons teddies in different positions on the pillows and bed - it became a fun game between my son and housekeeping.
Helen in room service - is delightful, efficient but with a big smile and very sweet.
There were other wait staff and service staff in the main buffet, spa, activity stations that also were respectful and did There jobs well and with a smile
.As a premium guest the daily access to the hydrotherapy at the spa was a highlight.
The BAD
Unfortunately friendly staff in this resort is not guaranteed. Particularly in our resort poolbar and poolside restaurant.
My husband is Latino and we are english speaking (but speak a little spanish and make an effort always).
Some staff treat you with no common courtesy, like dirt on their shoe. Sad but true and it really starts to dull the shine on your holiday. By the last few days we were looking forward to leaving. For example, One morning when asking at bar for water in spanish (Buenos dias, dos aguas por favor) he went to fridge, turned to talk to other staff, grabbed water bottles stretched arm and slammed them on the bar without looking at us. We were shocked by numerous situations like this .
We understand that not all guests are easy BUT here it doesn't matter, even if polite staff can be RUDE.
My son also accidentally left a bag and ball at the grill and despite all our efforts it was never returned to us - sadly it had sentimental value. We expected honesty and trust at a 5 star resort.
Interestingly the staff at Colonial poolside restaurant and bar were more welcoming- so seems like it it might be a management issue at Maya beach.
We are not regular resort holiday people but have been to many different resorts in our lifetime and never experienced such polar opposites in staff service. It's sad because our family loves and respects mexican cultura and have found the people so friendly in many parts of the country

We have had nothing but amazing service while we were here at the Beach Buffet. Our server Selene Zurita always went above and beyond to make sure our family had everything we needed and is so incredible friendly! My son has a food allergy and she was amazing at making sure he was taken care of. My family will 100% be back again because her service was the best I’ve received on the whole resort!!

I am amazed how beautiful is that hotel.
Each detail of this place is very friendly to everyone spending time on vacation.
Also service unbelievable helpful, smiling and nice. One of them is Irene, working at the pool bar. Always smiling, very fast preparing unbelievable tasty drinks.
Don’t think twice if you’re choosing the place for relax. I just came back and ready to go there even tomorrow.
