Hola Señorita Carmen y mi amigo Javi.
My family and I stayed at the Melia Hotel in Benidorm in December for 8 days. It was absolutely amazing.
We were worried because we had read some bad reviews, but I can't fault anything.
The rooms were amazing with amazing views. My family stayed on the 17th, 18th and 23rd floors and every single room was perfect. The rooms were cleaned daily and chocolates and cookies left, which my boys loved.
We stayed half board and had breakfast and dinner each day and the food was great. Never had an issue with queues and we always found something to eat (my family were 2 pensioners, my wife and me and my 3 kids (22, 10 and 6)) we always got something and always loved it
A special mention to the chef at dinner, Jimo. Tu bein Hombre, mi amigo!
Swimming pool was great, kids really enjoyed it, great size for lengths and races haha.
We used the level lounge every day. Was fantastic. Beer and Wine was served daily from 11am until 7pm. Between 5pm and 7pm the premium (branded) drinks are available. Also has snacks and lite bites available throughout the day.
The staff in the lounge are amazing Senorita Carmen and mi amigo Javi. Always happy to help and stop for a chat and a laugh.
(Que tengas una Feliz Navidad)
Overall the hotel was great, I wouldn't take notice of any of the other reviews that seem to say this place is only 1 star worth. We loved everything when we stayed here and will hopefully be back next year!
(Would also like to give a special mention to the girls in the kids club, most of the other kids were Spanish, most days my boys were the only Scottish boys there but they always made them feel welcome and made extra special efforts to make them enjoy themselves!)
This place was awesome and we will be back!
Que tengas una buen dia amigos!

Flies on food not covered up!
Lift number 2 had fresh blood on its wall for 3 days until I told reception...so they're not being cleaned every day.
Only 1 chair on the balcony...got another 3days later after complaining twice daily!
Not enough cups at breakfast.. people walking round looking and staff not very interested.
On the other hand...
Reception staff were very helpful and polite.
The main area of the hotel looks lovely with all the greenery.
Lifts were all working as far as I know.
Pool is large but area not big enough for all the sunbeds.

We always come to benidorm every year this year being twice, christmas for the first time. We booked Melia under the impression it was great. Aesthetically the exterior of the building looks incredible, as you walk inside the plants and surroundings were so lovely. Checked in, upon entering our rooms it was like we was somewhere else, no where near 4* more 2* rooms, dirty furniture, very cramped spaces, needs a massive clean and upgrade really. If you have a food allergy (not intolerance an actual allergy) then do not bother here, they have poorly labelled food if labelled. The food is just about warm, and people constantly mixing fish with meat which is not ideal if you get severe anaphylaxis reaction with fish (which we do). The staff prefer Spanish people to the British. Overall not the best hotel and definitely not a 4*.

Went for a coffee after visiting the newly opened lidle shop. At first we were ignored, once we were served all was good and when asking for hot water ( for me to take medications) the var man was very obliging...would be interested in staying at some point in the future.

We came for a friends birthday 11 ladies. The hotel was absolutely beautiful, clean, friendly staff, great terrace bar ! Pool is beautiful too and no problems with getting a sun bed. The area itself is great - far enough from the strip so not to hear the partying but close enough to walk or a short taxi ride to the night life! The night life is brilliant. Look, it’s not luxoury but it’s certainly not bad at all it’s so much fun ! We were so worried about pick pockets and mugging and dodgy people in the clubs but saw none of that. Honestly had the best time !!
