We stayed here for the second time now and overall it is a good Hotel at a great location but there are however some issues. First is smoking and vaping. The Hotel created a smoking area on the entrance of on the pool side on both sides and the two entrances there. You have no choice as to walk through it and there seems to be an illusion that smoke does not enter the building as the two doors there open. The same applies at the corona bar where sport activities are given. You sport there and a few meters from you people are allowed to smoke and thus you sport while breathing in smoke. The most annoying is the balcony of your own room. It is impossible to sit there without smoke coming your way from balconies around you. We have not been able sit outside their any of the 3 weeks without you having to go inside because of this. This smoke also enters the building and can be clearly smelled in the hallway. The hotel following the law, however some common sense would (look at the sisters hotel Park waves next door created a smoking area). Sustainability is used as a marketing tool but that goes a bit further then what is done now. second hand smoking kills and that needs to be taken a bit more serious as done now.
Second issue is the room and in particular the bathrooms. They are past their prime and that is putting in mild. The toilet for example is to low and so close to the wall that it is problematic.
Now the good, I mentioned the location already, the buffet in main restaurant is excellent and the staff if fantastic from cooks until service staff. Food has good variety and of good quality, it is a joy to eat there. Second is the sports classes have improved vastly both Joyce and Matias give worthwhile lessons in a "entertaining" atmosphere. Way better than last year. The location apart from smokers around you, needs to be clean of glass as I found glass on the ground there and people walk around there bare foot.
Overall the Hotel is good but bathrooms need renovation and smoking needs to be controlled better. Food and location are great with good sport team.

Perfect for some winter sun for me and my family.
Everything you need for an all inclusive holiday; amazing food, nice rooms, comfy beds, easy access to the BIG sandy beach next to the ocean, plenty on for kids and adults. Iberostar ticks all the boxes!
All staff were all very friendly and made us feel welcome.
We stayed in a ground floor double premium side sea view which was nice because you could open the sliding doors which gave access to a nice garden area with the private sun lounger things. There was also a really nice jacuzzi pool at the end facing the ocean which was so cool to chill out in! You could easily spend all morning out there until the sun moves to the other side where the main pools and bar is!
We could argue and say we couldn't properly see the ocean from our room but we aren't the kind of people that stay in their room on holiday and look out the window!
I'm conclusion we give it 5 stars and enjoyed our stay here very thoroughly.
Good they have bottles of Erdinger at the bowling alley bar for 2 Euro a bottle, would of been good to have access to those during the day and not after 1730.

We had a fantastic stay at Iberostar Playa Gaviotas, having opted for a Star Prestige room. The experience was exceptional, with the highlight being the exclusive infinity pool offering stunning ocean views. The ability to exchange towels at the pool anytime during the day was a small but appreciated convenience.
Room: Our room had a nice ocean view, though it was partially blocked by the roof, and unfortunately, the balcony was in the shade too early in the day, so we couldn't fully enjoy it during the winter months. Additionally, our room was located beneath a shared terrace with umbrellas, and we could hear noise from chairs and loungers being moved around throughout the day. Fortunately, we didn’t spend too much time in the room during the day. The minibar was well-stocked, and we appreciated the regular replenishment of coffee capsules and milk. Although the rooms are a bit dated, they were always immaculately cleaned.
Staff: The staff was outstanding, and I’d especially like to highlight Mireia, Andrea, the always-smiling Alfredo, the cheerful Ruben, and the helpful porter (unfortunately, we didn’t catch his name). They greeted us warmly, were always smiling, and were available whenever we needed assistance.
Food: We truly appreciated the premium offerings available to Star Prestige guests, such as fresh strawberries, blueberries, butter, and yogurts. The Christmas dinner on December 25th was a grand affair, focused on seafood and a variety of delicious treats. The dining room was well-organized, even with a high occupancy, showing how well the team worked together. However, we were less impressed by the lunches, which were served at combined tables and offered less comfort and privacy. Unfortunately, midway through our stay, the juices at breakfast became undrinkable due to being overly diluted. The coffee throughout the hotel was also disappointing, as it didn’t resemble coffee, and we didn’t enjoy the tap water served in the dining area.
Suggestions for Improvement: As we typically visit the Canary Islands during the Christmas period, we would have appreciated more festive decorations in the common areas, especially by the pool. It would also have been great to involve the Grinch more in entertainment for adult guests, such as a Christmas photo corner with a special holiday drink. This would create a fun experience and memorable moments. However, we think the Grinch mask could be improved, as other hotels in the area have more elaborate versions of this entertainment.
Since the pool bar is self-service, we’d also love to see more options for mixing our own drinks, like fresh mint and fruit syrups (e.g., grenadine, elderflower syrup, etc.). A chill DJ session at the Star Prestige pool one afternoon would also be a nice touch to elevate the experience for adults.
Surroundings: The hotel is located near a beautiful beach, and we enjoyed walking or cycling along the scenic path that stretches to Morro Jable. I also recommend visiting the area by the children’s playground at the edge of Morro Jable, where you can see green macaws (parrots) and feed them with a generous serving of seeds.
Despite a few minor issues, the hotel left a very good impression, and we would happily return. However, I do believe that the Star Prestige experience played a large role in making our stay so enjoyable, and without this service, we may not have had the same experience.

Our family enjoyed our stay at this wonderful hotel. At the reception all issues were resolved very quickly. Great food, beautiful hotel, friendly staff, very comfortable mattresses and restful sleep! Those who love silence and want to get a good night's sleep come here! Beautiful pool and lots of free things. There is of course a beautiful view of the ocean and a beautiful beach. There is a large balcony overlooking the ocean, you can drink a cocktail and enjoy the view and that's the best thing! very friendly, fun and active guys who lead the activities. They organize: archery, making natural soap with your own hands and teach you how to make a delicious drink Sangria. We will return to this hotel with great pleasure. Thank you and see you soon

We spent seven days there and I must say, the hotel is absolutely great. The food had variety and the tables aren't too close to each other like many reviews say. The staff was really nice and kind. The shoes weren't great but okay. I definitely recommend it.
