It's just average, not a 4 star experience. The room and the breakfast buffet were fine. Building work meant a trek outside the hotel to find the gym - half the equipment wouldn't work. Swimming pool couldn't be used without changing in the room - building work.
Location good, just on the edge of the old town.
Would not go again and probably avoid the hotel chain.

Pleasant stay, brilliant customer service and very nice room, Will stay again. Entertainment is in spanish but to be fair the location is right next to alot of bars where you can go out. This hotel is very chilled and relaxed, lovely swimming pool and bar tenders where the best hard working people and they make good cocktails.

We Stay in Benidorm every year and thought we would pay more and upgrade to the Benidorm Plaza this year. What a disappointment. Apart from the location which is great for ‘old town’ I can honestly say I should have saved the extra money. There really is no atmosphere or vibe at this hotel. Advertising as having 2 swimming pools but only have one (put a cover over it to make it indoor). They insist on wearing swim caps (who does that on holiday)? Food was bland but a varied selection but again they don’t start serving until 8pm. Reception staff abrupt and rude and to finish it off I plugged my phone into charge in reception before leaving and the plug socket fell out. I would not rate this hotel as 4 stars and think the hotel should look at what their customers would like and offer that little bit extra.

Rooms clean .lovely entrance
Great staff in bar..
However.. this time of year... solarium closed.
Hardly any sunshine reaches the sunbeds because of all the hotels surrounding.
Rooms well looked after..
Food... plenty of it..
But I'm sorry to say..tasteless..very oily and luke warm..
Will I go back? No

Room was spacious, clean and modern. Bathroom was big and clean but the shower tray could have been bigger because the shower soaked the floor every time. Balcony was a decent size but the tiles were all cracked and need some replacement and repairs. There's a hairdryer in the bathroom and a kettle, safe and fridge in the bedroom.
Reception area is nice and modern, there's a little robot that will give you local information and it's fun to have a little chat with it. Reception staff are amazing, so helpful and friendly. Restaurant staff are great however there was one man who the management need to have a conversation with about personal hygiene because he smelt like a public toilet.
The pool is nice and warm, it had the winter cover over it when we were there so it held the heat in very nicely. First time using the pool we were about to enter and a staff member from the bar came flying outside shouting at us like we had just punched his grandmother or something. He was shouting "HATS HATS WHERE ARE YOUR HATS. YOU MUST HAVE HATS" and he started aggressive tapping a sign on the door about wearing swimming caps in the pool. This rule didn't seem to apply to everyone though as there were people in there without them. You can buy them from reception for 3€ each which isn't too bad, they're stretchy fabric caps and not the horrible rubber ones.
The food in the restaurant is not at all what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. The breakfast was very basic and just not great at all. We were half board so you can either choose to have lunch or dinner, we always went for dinner because we were out most of the day. The dinner was better than the breakfast but also it just wasn't what you'd expect from a 4 star hotel. There was very little choice and what was available was just a bit bland. We stayed at the primavera park hotel last year which is also 4 star and the food was so much better.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, right on the edge of the old town, about a 5 minute walk from the beach and about 15 minutes from "the strip".
I understand that the hotel has recently changed to the brand "Climia" and they are in a transition phase, there's still some old branding about the place, they're still doing renovations but this doesn't seem to be reflected in the price.
Overall the hotel is decent and I'm sure once the renovations are finished it will be fantastic, but I wouldn't stay there again until it's all finished.
