I had high hopes for this hotel, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. From the moment I arrived, multiple problems became apparent that significantly impacted the quality of my stay.
The first red flag was the unpleasant odor permeating the stairwells, which was immediately noticeable and quite off-putting. The room's acoustic design was severely lacking, with sound traveling effortlessly between rooms. Throughout the night, I was constantly disturbed by the sounds of neighboring guests' snoring and the continuous slamming of doors, making restful sleep nearly impossible.
Customer service and room amenities were equally disappointing. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find no toiletries in the room, and I had to specifically request a shower cap from the reception desk. Even basic courtesies seemed to be an afterthought - a simple cup of tea I enjoyed was not replenished the following day, a small but telling detail about the hotel's attention to guest comfort.
The elevator situation was frustrating. It was extremely slow and overcrowded, especially during meal times. The security protocol was particularly concerning, as restaurant guests from outside could potentially access room floors by sharing an elevator with hotel guests.
The breakfast was uninspired and repetitive, offering the same limited selection of pastries, yogurts, and cereals each day. This lack of variety quickly became monotonous and failed to provide a satisfying start to the day.
In summary, this hotel requires significant improvements in hygiene, soundproofing, service quality, and guest amenities. I cannot recommend it for travelers seeking a comfortable and restful stay.

Easy advance check in and efficient, friendly staff at the front desk.
Fast lift which is useful given the number of floors.
Rooms clean and neutrally decorated. Everything present that you might need. Great views.
The bar and restaurant on the top floor are worth a visit, although it can get crowded and noisy up there.

The hotel has great location right outside the port. It is a 5 minute walk along the promenade to the beach which is ideal.
Upon my arrival at the hotel, I was greeted by friendly and welcoming reception staff who made my check-in easy. The hotel has 2 small lifts and these were one down-side of my stay as they often took a long time to arrive and often were already full of people. There are stairs but using them would not be practical for anyone staying on higher floors.
My bedroom was spacious but the double bed was formed of two single beds next to each other. This was slightly annoying as it meant the beds could move apart, disturbing me and my partners sleep, but thankfully I did not experience this a lot. The room had the basic amenities, such as towels, a safe to securely store high value items, shower gel, shampoo, hand wash, hairdryer and a bidet. The water pressure was good and water did heat up when showering. There was a mini-bar offering water, soft drinks, beer and snacks, however, items were not complimentary, and you would incur a charge if taken. The prices of the items are shown on a card which means you will know how much you will pay if you take something. The charge was disappointing as I normally encounter complimentary mini-bars in hotels.
Room service was good. My bedding was changed and towels were replaced when needed.
Breakfast was offered between 7:30am-11:00am on floor 2. I would recommend going for breakfast before 9am or after 10:30am, due to these being busy times. The breakfast area was quite small and I had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated the first time I went for breakfast, due to arriving at a busy time. Despite this, I was pleased with the breakfast menu, which offered a variety of expected items, along with pastries, hot drinks, and juices.
The highlight of my stay was definitely the amazing views offered from the hotel of the port, the sea and Castillo de Santa Bárbara nearby! Unfortunately I did not visit the restaurant on the 26th floor which also offers amazing views, maybe next time.
Overall, I was pleased with my stay at the hotel. Despite some small downsides, the majority of my stay was positive and I would definitely stay here again.

Worst melia hotel I have ever stayed in! Reception staff rude! First room we got was dirty, the bedsheets were stained and the toilet was not clean! Went down to speak to reception and they did not care! I asked to move room to a cleaner one but was told only view rooms were available hence I’d have to pay and no apology. They don’t care if you’re a loyalty member. Got told we could do late check out by the night staff but then in the morning have been told it’s an extra €15 for an hour! Been to so many hotels in the world and no one has ever charged for 1 hour late check out, especially a melia hotel. Hotel definitely old and falling apart. Staff have no customer service skills and need to learn some manners.
