Beautiful Hotel with Potential, but the All Inclusive Package Needs Improvement
I stayed in a Premium Room on the 9th floor (room 913) with the All Inclusive package at Don Gregory by Dunas. The hotel has a lot of positives, but I also experienced several issues that I think future guests should be aware of, although management did respond very well.
---
The All Inclusive package was disappointing at first
For a premium all inclusive, I expected more. Many basic items were not included, such as:
- Smoothies
- Iced coffee (they gave me ice and coffee separately to mix myself)
- Ice cream
- Heineken and some other branded drinks
It felt more like a half-board with drinks rather than true all inclusive.
This was my biggest disappointment.
---
Management did listen and take action
I spoke directly with the Hotel Director, and he was very professional and understanding.
He told me that:
- They plan to expand what is included in the All Inclusive
- They will hire mixologists to improve drink quality
- I would be reimbursed for everything I had to pay extra
This response was impressive and gave me confidence that the hotel is moving in the right direction.

Huge thanks to Bojana from Guest Relations
I also spoke with Bojana, and she was extremely helpful, friendly, and proactive.
She made sure my concerns were addressed and handled everything smoothly.
Her customer service was one of the highlights of my stay.

Room – Beautiful view, but some upkeep needed
The Premium room had an amazing view and was comfortable.
However, some small maintenance issues (like minor wear and tear) made it feel less “premium” than expected.
I believe they are working on these details, but it’s something guests should know.
---
Buffet – Small but good quality
The buffet isn’t very large, but the food changes daily and tastes good. It offers enough different options to enjoy the meals without getting bored.
---
Drinks and Cocktails
To be honest, the cocktails were quite weak and not very tasty, except for the mojito.
The quality didn’t match a 4-star “premium” hotel.
However, with professional mixologists coming soon, I expect this to improve.
---
Pool and Beach Area
The pool area looks nice, but:
- It gets very crowded
- Sunbeds are very close to each other, with not much space to relax
The beach is right in front of the hotel, which is fantastic, but the sunbeds cost 9€ per day, which feels expensive considering it’s an all inclusive hotel.
---
Staff and Service
The waiters were really nice and tried their best, even when the all inclusive limitations made things a bit awkward. Their friendliness and effort made the stay much more pleasant.
---
What makes this hotel stand out
Despite the issues, the management and staff truly listen.
Many hotels ignore feedback, this one actually acts on it.
That gives me hope that things will get much better very soon.

Overall
Amazing location, lovely views, and outstanding service from people like Bojana, the Hotel Director, and the waiters.
Yes, there were disappointments (especially the all inclusive limitations and crowded pool), but the hotel is clearly working on improvements.
Would I return?
Yes! Especially to see the positive changes they are implementing!

Been at this hotel for 7 nights and I'm very impressed. The staff are very friendly, the food is great, the views are spectacular, the rooms are modern and clean. Upgrading to all inclusive is definitely worth it if you can, the drinks menu is very large and there's plenty of cocktails included. They change the food each night, they have done a few different themes - tonight was Asian and there was Indian, Chinese & Sushi, food was OK.
I would definitely come back to this hotel again.
The pools are fantastic.
The only disappointment is the air con in the room is terrible and we haven't been able to get a sunbed all holiday. Luckily we have a room near the pool so just go back to our garden chairs.

Our stay at Hotel Don Gregory can be summed up in one word: perfection.
The housekeeping team deserves special recognition. The rooms were always kept in immaculate condition – everything was spotless, the beds freshly made every day, and our pajamas neatly arranged on top. It may seem like a small detail, but it made a huge difference, adding a sense of comfort and care. I’m truly grateful for this level of attention and precision – it felt as if a caring mother had looked after the room while we were away. Cleanliness was absolutely top-notch – it’s been a long time since I’ve experienced anything at this level.
The food was varied and very tasty – even the pickiest eater could find something for themselves. A huge plus were the fresh local fruits and vegetables available at every meal, as well as the wide selection of oils and dressings. Every day offered something different – themed evenings featuring Asian, Italian, Spanish, or Mexican cuisine added a fantastic variety. The waiters made sure nothing was ever missing – service was efficient and always with a smile. And the breakfast omelets prepared just the way you wanted… simply amazing, one of the best I’ve ever had!
The entertainment program was a real hit. After breakfast there was time to relax a little, and by 11:00 the active day would kick off with aqua aerobics. The classes weren’t just enjoyable but also a lot of fun. Evenings were just as well organized: bingo (I almost won once!) and artistic performances such as ballroom dancing or acrobatics shows.
The entertainment host, Patricia, created a light and cheerful atmosphere that encouraged everyone to join in the activities. I think her personality contributed greatly to the overall comfort of our active holiday. Patricia deserves special praise – not only was she professional, but also incredibly friendly. Casual chats, tips on what to see from a local’s perspective, her daily smile and sense of humor made us feel as if we were among friends. I will truly miss our conversations!
Our stay at Don Gregory was the perfect escape from the corporate rush. I was able to clear my mind, recharge my batteries, and enjoy a holiday full of relaxation, flavors, and great fun. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and will be delighted to return.

I had a great stay at this hotel. The location is perfect witt nice view close to everything and very convenient. The food was delicious, with a good variety at every meal. The service was also very good and quick; the staff even helped me organize a surprise birthday celebration for my girlfriend, which was a big highlight of our trip.
One minor downside is that some rooms could use a bit of cosmetic renovation — nothing major, but noticeable. Also, the cocktails varied in taste depending on who made them, so the quality wasn’t always consistent.
Overall, a very enjoyable experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel!

The riu is better located think there are 3 in masspolomas area, I would book there if the price isn't too different. I enjoyed my stay staff are really nice and seem to make a real effort. Food is normal all inclusive but the selection is small. Two pools not enough beds, normal get up at 6am put towels down benedorm style. Views from the room are amazing room is nice, although no privacy with the toilet... make sure your relathionship is strong 🤪. I won't stay here again personally and genuinely if your making the decision between riu or here there is no competition. Went in August so tried to avoid kids.
