THE WEAKEST LINK.
We stayed here in January 2025.
(Returning customers)
Great fast check in and check out, the staff at the reception are very efficient, friendly and polite.
The room was nice and fairly clean (at the beginning)
The break and the dinner was very nice with a good choice of food.
The staff at the restaurant were very efficient and polite, we loved how Tatiana welcomed the guests: with a nice smile.
The hotel offers a free shuttle bus to the beach, the bus service stops also to few other hotels, this year they had a bigger bus and was no problem to find a seat.
The hotel has 2 swimming pool and a nice bar.
I would give the highest score if we did not have issues with the housekeeping.
The housekeeping was THE WEAKEST LINK during our stay.
They barely made up the bed in a very bad manner.
The first 4 days they did not sweep or wash the floor, a lot of dust bunnies formed in the room, we had to invite someone in charge for an inspection.
After the inspection the room was properly cleaned and dusted off but the following days they went back to the lazy routine.
The housekeeping almost never filled up the coffee, the tea and water.
The phone in the room was not working.
Once we needed an iron-board and iron but since the phone was not working I had to go down stairs to the reception to ask for them.
We waited and waited but nothing was delivered to our room so after one hour I went one more time to the reception to remind them about the board and the iron, of course the receptionist was surprised that no one delivered what we asked so he requested again a iron and a board to our room, he made the call while I was there.
I went in the room and we waited and waited and waited but nothing was delivered to our room so after waiting one more hour I went, again, to the reception since the phone was not working and I asked if this situation was a joke. The receptionist one more time, while I was present, called to request an iron and an iron-board.
Finally after over 2 hours the iron and the iron-board was delivered, I told to the lady that delivered them that we waited for more then to hours, instead of an apologie she blamed the reception that she said never made such a request (the request were made in front of me).
When the housekeeping was coming in the room they NEVER knocked on the door prior entry, it was so annoying the situation!
We were happy with our stay but super disappointed with the housekeeping and their unprofessional behaviour.
We surely will come back at this nice hotel but we hope that the housekeeping will be well trained.

Lovely hotel, staff were efficient and very helpful. The housekeeping was exceptional.
The room could have done with a lick of paint, but apart from that it was functional and had everything you required.
The choice of food choice was wide and varied, something to suit everyone. couldn't think of anything more, pity the hot food was lukewarm, at best which let's down an otherwise excellent hotel.
Sort out the food temperature and this hotel would get five stars

I stayed here for three nights and am quite happy about the hotel’s facilities, hard-working staff, good food and comfortable rooms. I am honestly a bit puzzled about the few, negative reviews that can be read here… I would almost believe these people (?) are just extremely demanding or have other motives to be negative and not truthful.
I especially appreciated the heated pool, contrary to some reviews there are TWO not one…, the second one can get sunny enough.
And the masseuse unblocked my shoulder completely 🥲

Hotel Barceló Margaritas is a nice and clean hotel, offering a generally good experience. The rooms are decent but show signs of wear and tear. The beds are very comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. However, it’s worth noting that the rooms are quite noisy, and sound travels easily between them.
The service is mostly friendly, and I’d like to extend a special thanks to the staff in the downstairs bar, especially Juan Ramon, and to those who worked hard clearing tables in the restaurant. Their efforts were much appreciated. The young lady in Ambra pool bar on the other hand was not up to standard. She actively ignored people in the bar by doing other things and often disappeared into the back room. I often saw people give up and go down to the other bar.
The breakfast was excellent with a wide variety, though the other meals felt somewhat repetitive. The Christmas buffet was nice and lavish, but unfortunately missing on preparation and quality. Got a raw lobster, and some of the shrimps were mushy so had to throw them away.
Overall, Hotel Barceló Margaritas is a good choice for a relaxing holiday, but improvements in soundproofing and meal variety would make the experience even better.

We stayed here a week as part vacation / part work abroad and thought it was a good value for the price. The rooms and space in general was very clean. Our room had a nice balcony looking over the pool area and it was surprisingly still quiet. Enough that we could leave our door open for a breeze during the afternoon while we worked. The sink has a plug and the balcony a clothes drying rack which made it easy to wash clothes during our trip. They offer a laundry service, but it was kind of expensive unless you were just wanting to wash an item or two.
There are two pool areas, one is more family friendly and the other is near a cafe area. Despite being fully booked, there was plenty of space in the lounge chairs. Some people left towels to reserve spots, buy it was discouraged by the hotel, so it didn’t create competition for good spots.
We didn’t do full inclusive, but just breakfast which was plenty for us. The breakfast buffet is quite large including a station for fresh omelettes, crepes and waffles. There was also a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables. We had someone with us who had a food allergy and they were accommodating. We also had the avocado toast and a salad from the cafe by the main pool which were delicious. They also offer free self-serve water by the pool and the tables were also nice to work by. You get a card at check-in and use it to borrow a fresh towel each time you need it by the pool.
Location is good, it’s about 20-25 minutes by foot from the Dunes or Play de Ingles, but the hotel also offers some free shuttles. Taxis were also very easy to hail and fairly cheap to these locations too. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes within 5-15 minutes walking with nice large sidewalks. There is a convenience store across the street with basic toiletries and snacks.
They offer live music and other things each night it seemed downstairs in the lounge area. They also had bingo and other games in the afternoons. We didn’t participate, but they seemed popular.
The staff were all quite friendly and seemed to speak Spanish, English, and German in some cases. Overall would recommend to other couples or families seeking a more chill vacation / work abroad trip.
