Having booked directly with the hotel and having stayed here a few years ago, I would have thought there would be some benefit of loyalty but instead was treated with none!
This time, I was given Room 203 on the ground floor—a basic room with an incredibly dated interior, complete with an old 80s carpet. The view from the balcony was awful: a kids’ playground to the left, the car park and roof in front, and the pool to the right.
Unhappy with the room, we raised our concerns with reception. After waiting 40 minutes, the room manager, Miguel, informed us there was “nothing they could do.” Fortunately, during that wait, we found an alternative place to stay.
The customer service was disappointing on several fronts:
1. For a direct booking, a hotel should recognize guest loyalty ( having stayed in the hotel previously and also in the Gran Residencia, the sister hotel) by providing the best available room in the selected category. Although we were told there were similar rooms on higher floors, they wouldn’t accommodate us.
2. Despite voicing our displeasure, they showed no genuine effort to address our issue.
Given this poor treatment, I won’t be returning to Palm Beach or Gran Residences, despite having been a loyal visitor to both.”

Great hotel, very friendly staff, and great service. Known for good food and they did not disappoint. Short walk to the beach and boulevard. Wonderful SPA pools are adults only. Live entertainment every evening and al fresco dining. During our stay majority of guests were German. Staff speak several languages.
Alcohol was expensive compared to outside hotel, but similar to other hotels in the area. Bar menu is also quite good. Just a few steps outside the grounds are small supermarkets, Italian restaurant and also close to the main bus stop. Great shopping close to the Faro.

We enjoyed our stay at Seaside Palm Beach hotel. It's concept seems to be 70s tourism - and this can be in both good and bad way.
Pros
- Service is attentive and courteous, all of the staff are well trained (unlike some of the newer hotel)
- Room, whilst 70s decor may not be for everyone, was clean and spacious
- shower pressure was good and good amount of space in the bathroom
- dinner was pretty good. On half board, 4 out of a week is serviced dinner with 4 course meal, each course from a choice of 3 dishes and dessert is buffet. Other 3 nights were 'bbq' buffet and meat here was very good
- breakfast was also good on par with other true 5 star hotel.
- we went in October and the resort had plenty of sunbeds and pool side was well maintained
- complementary Yoga session was very good with knowledge instructor. It was about 1hr 15-30min and catered for beginners like us.
- location was convenient. Couple of supermarkets within walking distance as well as beach, bus stop etc. It's sufficiently away from the beach to provide a bit of calm which we liked.
Cons
- the hotel is a bit tired and it's 70s style is not for everyone
- shower only had divider and no door, consequently the bathroom floor was always wet
- Aircon was a bit weak. It was ok in October but it might get a bit warm in summer
- this was our major dislike. Entertainment went on till 11pm most nights. Thankfully it wasn't heavy base music but loud enough to hear every word of a song from our room. We don't always want to hear it every night till 11pm. It's a bit questionable when majority of the clientele were older people. If they stopped at 10pm, it would have been more bearable?
- Pool was advertised as heated but main pool wasn't heated. A bit debatable if October is considered to be colder month but water was certainly starting to feel a bit chilly
- Adult pool only allows 14 years onwards despite the hotel charging 12 years old with adult price for the room. A bit of discrepancy?
- Alcohol was hideously expensive. I don't mind resorts charging more but charging for a bottle of wine more then 4 times in the local supermarket? I think that is a rip off...
- As it is 5 min walk to the beach, there is no direct access to the beach from the hotel (despite the name of the hotel!). Mind you, Atlantic ocean is choppy and cold so we didn't really mind.
- the hotel is not near sight seeing locations except for the sand dunes. Maspalomas is a tourist spot and there is not much else to do than usual beach side stuff. There is a major bus stop near by with good connections to the capitol and other towns.
Over all, we'll be happy to go back in October but we might ask for rooms but facing the poolside to avoid the music keeping us awake

Exceptional Hotel. Stayed there last week with family. The facilities are top notch, rooms very clean, staff couldn’t be nicer, it’s right next to the beach, you can’t hear any other noise from the other rooms at night, lovely bar by the pool. I could go on and on. 10/10.

The food at this hotel is magnificent - so much choice and to such a high standard. The staff in the dining area are fantastic, they are professional and friendly in equal measure.
We visited with our 2 year old daughter and it is a lovely close proximity to the sandy beach.
We left our jacket behind and have been so very impressed with the service from the hotel who sent it to us in the UK despite it being our error.
I would certainly recommend this special hotel.
