We were warmly welcomed at Pickalbatros Citadel Resort. The reception staff were kind and helpful, and they allowed us to check in early, which we truly appreciated. The hotel’s view and overall cleanliness were impressive. Our room was very spacious and functional, which added to our comfort.
However, we were quite disappointed with the food and beverage services, especially when compared to hotels we've stayed at in Turkey. The food lacked flavor and was excessively oily. Chicken was served almost every day, and there was no quality red meat available. The drink options were also very limited.
Unfortunately, my wife got food poisoning after eating grilled chicken at the hotel. Thankfully, the hotel doctor provided immediate care during the night, administering an injection that helped her recover quickly.
As for entertainment, we’re not even sure if there were any animation activities going on. Additionally, the hotel photographers were quite intrusive. They constantly tried to convince guests to take photos and later demanded unreasonably high prices. This behavior negatively affected the overall experience and lowered the perceived quality of the hotel.

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the treatment we received at your hotel. As Asian guests, we were deeply disappointed and disturbed by the poor and unfriendly attitude exhibited by your staff towards us. It was clear that your employees were far more welcoming and friendly towards Middle Eastern and Western guests, creating an atmosphere of inequality.
We believe that as paying customers, we deserve equal treatment, regardless of our nationality or appearance. During our stay, we encountered a staff member named Mohamad Ahmed at the front desk. When we politely inquired about some room-related issues, he responded with a very impatient and indifferent attitude, offering us no real assistance or useful answers. This unprofessional and disrespectful behavior left us feeling uncomfortable and unappreciated.
The purpose of this email is to bring this issue to the attention of your senior management. Your hotel has a beautiful environment and a wonderful location, and it would be unfortunate for the actions of your staff to negatively affect the reputation of your establishment. In the eyes of many Asian travelers, your hotel is already receiving criticism for its poor treatment of guests from our region.
We trust that you will take this matter seriously and address it to ensure better service and fairness for all guests. We hope to see improvements in the future, so that all visitors, regardless of background, feel equally valued.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
And last thing, the employees under your group have given me an unforgettable and disgusting experience, ruining the mood of my trip.

This hotel is too beautiful! My kids think the best and biggest in the world. My wife is already considering coming back again next year. The staff Karim from the reception has been very helpful during our stay. He is so nice to answer our questions and being very kind.

SALMONELLA/ food poisoning
the food is horrible, to call themselves a 5* hotel and have the audacity to serve food made days before and not cooked- enough chicken is crazy. I had salmonella, luckily it was mild symptoms. I know what salmonella is, I am third year medicine student in Europe, incompetent manager, please know that you can suffer food poisoning and salmonella and ONLY suffer mild symptoms which can be medicated at home, whilst more severe symptoms ,such as blood in your stools and prolonged (3+days) mild symtoms require hospitalisation but I forgot you’re Dr House.
You’re a supposedly 5* hotel, your food should be exemplary, but it is expectionally mid.
The manager said I am the only one to ever suffer from food poisoning at their hotel when literally less than 48 HOURS PRIOR, a person commented on google maps that they and their friends suffered from food poisonning. And I found so many many comments of food poisoning at their hotel but he’ll reply to comments saying they don’t understand the true meaning of food poisoning 😂, I know I do, I study medicine you fool.
Also the woman that spoke to us about our issues said we had told her by whatsapp that there was no issues and all was good, that was 2 hours after we had arrived at the resort so of course nothing bad had happened yet🤨
They say they have multiple cocktails but nope, they only have mojitos and beer. 😂 5* hotel yes ?😂
The staff, they are very rude, only a scarce amount are nice, the majority when you ask them something it seems like you’re disturbing them. Only 20% actually speak english, it’s such a headache trying to be understood. We’re at a 5* hotel, train your staff or hire staff that speaks english.
Only good things is that the hotel’s architecture is very nice and the infinity pool
is beautiful and the views are amazing.
Horrible establishments, due to illness cancelled two costly activities and shortened our stay there to go to a different hotel (Meraki), a 4* hotel and the rooms are 10x better, the food is 10x better, the whole staff can speak english and is 10x more pro and more friendly.
AVOID THIS HOTEL 3* at most.

Loved our stay at Citadel Resort! The place is absolutely beautiful — amazing views, crystal-clear water, and that unique Egyptian vibe. The food was seriously great, with tons of variety every day. We got to try different dishes all the time, and everything was super tasty. Would definitely come back!
