You should be very careful when using the services of a tour operator or buying travel packages including accommodation at the four-star Palmea in Marmaris. You pay for and expect a standard room, and you find yourself in a hideaway on the attic floor - it's hard to walk without hitting your head on the cracks in the ceiling.
The hotel has two swimming pools and also it is very close to the sea but you have to dry your bathing suits and beach towels on plastic chairs - no other way. You have to move the plastic furniture every time to open and close the terrace door. You cannot fully open this door, the width of the balcony is insufficient for this. There is no place to arrange the clothes, except for two special ones, which may be hanging on a hanger in the wardrobe in the hallway. In it, apart from these two clothes, there is space only for shoes (on the ground) and in the superstructure, around the safe, you can possibly put something up there, out of sight. Your clothes must be in the suitcase during the entire stay.
Despite my tour operator's efforts to move me to a normal room, I've been living in this hideaway for the fourth day now. It seems this will be the worst 6-days accommodation in all my life.
And the attic "rooms" aren't even mentioned on the hotel's website, but they exist and people stay there.

This has got to be the worst hotel I've been in my life. Where do I start... We arrived at 2.30am and was told we had to wait for 20 minutes for our room to be cleaned. The room was filthy. No kettle, no iron, ironing board, tea or coffee facilities. There is NO minibar, a dirty fridge with 2 bottles of water. The food is disgusting, the same stuff gets served everyday. My mum was sick on the way home. The manager screamed at my mum for not wearing her bracelet to show that we are all inclusive. The pool closes at 5pm and there is no entertainment. It's so boring there. Cats roam all over the restaurant and jump on the tables. The staff speak little or no English and they're very rude. There is No WiFi whatsoever so be prepared.

The best hotel ever!!!
The food.. exceptional .. fresh grilled food every single day.
The service.. incredible! JIMMY and BEN, you made my trip so special.
Cleanness - I wish the rooms were cleaned to a better standard, however housekeeping were more than happy to accommodate once we called.
I love you guys and I’ll be back!

Hotel was dirty. Toilets broken. Shower not working properly. Air-conditioning filthy. Very boring low quality food. Cockroaches at the dining area and pool! From our room cleaner rob money! We called the police and they said it was not the first time. The staff and manager did want help because they know we are living the next day. I'm not recommended this hotel!!!

I booked Palmea as a last minute getaway, however was very sceptical about staying here due to the mixed reviews.
I found the food repetitive and limited at times but still tasty most days. Enjoyed the grilled selection of food (at lunch and dinner) and the male chef there was always smiley and welcoming. The ladies on the reception desk were also really helpful in assisting with my enquiries.
Rooms are decent, however found the bed extremely hard and uncomfortable. Cleaning of the rooms was also very basic/ minimal and could do with improvement. There’s a little fridge in the rooms, to which I was provided with 2 bottles of water on my arrival but noticed this wasn’t refilled during my stay.
The WiFi doesn’t work in the rooms, which was a bit of a let down. However, I was able to access WiFi in the reception, restaurant and by the pool. There are two pools (one with a slide for kids), a shop and spa facilities.
Key standouts:
I had a lovely massage at the hotel, definitely recommend the spa here.
Location is quite central, just under a 15 minute walk to the beach and shops etc.
The small cocktail bar by the pool is nice for something light to do in the evenings. Some live entertainment would’ve been a good addition as there is none.
Overall, for a 4* all inclusive hotel I found Palmea fairly basic but experienced a pleasant stay here.
