This is a very nice hotel we enjoyed the food and the location is perfect. The room was good and everything was immaculately maintained. We have noticed over recent years that the area, La Carihuela, which used to be fairly quiet has become more and more popular with Dutch people and most guests were indeed middle aged Dutch people. Few children, but not quite adults only.

We booked a double superior room with a front sea view, expecting comfort and quality, but what we got was far from it. The room felt like something out of a horror movie—on the second floor but felt like the first. The walls were yellowed and stained, giving the whole place a dirty, run-down feel. The bed was uneven, making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. To make matters worse, there was a loose socket with exposed wires hanging out of the wall, which was a serious safety concern.
We brought these issues to the attention of the reception staff, hoping to move to a better room. However, they told us it wasn’t worth it because all the rooms were in a similar state, which was incredibly disappointing. The room looked nothing like the photos on the hotel website, and the overall quality was shocking for the price.
Overall: Our stay at Amaragua was far from enjoyable, and the price-to-quality ratio was poor. Unless you have no other option and don’t mind compromising on comfort and safety, I wouldn’t recommend staying here

My wife & I stayed for 10 nights 12th - 22nd July. Had a lovely time & on the whole enjoyed our stay.
A minor gripe was the lack of a double bed in our room & no tea/coffee making facilitie
The policy for not reserving sunbeds was not implemented & we resorted to an "if you can't beat them join them" by putting our towels down on sunbeds while we went for breakfast, the pool area attendants just shrugged their shoulders when questioned why towels were placed first thing of a morning & the beds not used until lunchtime. On one occasion we had to pay €14 to hire 2 sunbeds on the beach behind the hotel. Other than that great hotel

This was my second time visiting MS Amaragua and I was looking forward to going back! Back in 2022, they didn’t have any rules regarding sunbeds (expect for if the bed was unattended for 30 mins, towels would be removed - this was not enforced) so my husband and I enjoyed being out by the pool from early morning. This time however, we weren’t allowed access until 9am - cue the massive queues and madness to get beds as well as sharing with the hotel next door!
Something I noted was the lack of friendliness with majority of staff. None of them looked happy to be there and didn’t come across as approachable. If you went with a query or issue, it felt like we were an inconvenience.
Facilities brilliant - pool big and easily accessible and despite mad rush for beds near the pool, they do have a large grass area with more beds. Had pool noodles and balls to play with which was fun!
Location wise - perfect. Private gate to the promenade / beach which is a great addition. Restaurants and shops close by!
Room - lovely! We were on 7th floor on the opposite side of the building so not above the pool area like our last visit. It was nice and quiet, air conditioned and nice balcony area!
Food - all buffet style. We did B&B this year rather than half board so can’t comment on dinners. Breakfast had a large variety of things for all diets and preferences! Fresh omelette / fried egg station which was great. They have a restaurant by the pool which will bring food over to your bed which is a nice touch!

A strong smell of chlorine is felt only after entering. The furniture of the rooms is outdated, the bedding is poor. The service staff is rude. The food served in the hotel is not tasty, the dishes are broken... The experience in this hotel is disappointing.
