The hotel is getting a single start because someone decided they were starting construction and refurbishment, during the Easter holidays, the one week that they have the most guests. I stayed in room 405. I woke up daily to the sounds of drilling and hammering, I suffer from migraines and it’s been torture. Imagine only having 1 week off from work, to sleep, rest and relax and paying a lot of money, only to have spent the last five days suffering from excruciating migraines because they decided to replace the windows during the school holidays. Not happy at all.
Just to add they have been carrying out construction work for the last year consistently. Please read other reviews, where the same issue has been highlighted and nothing on the hotels owners part to avoid disturbing paying customers. Please do not bother replying to my review, with some unhelpful apology. I will not be recommending anyone to this hotel and won’t be staying here again.

We stayed at this hotel for a special occasion, hoping for a comfortable and relaxing experience. Unfortunately, there were several issues that impacted our stay.
1. The sofa bed in our room was very uncomfortable, to the point that two of us had to sleep on the floor for several nights.
2. On our last day, we had a late-night flight and planned to rest in the morning. However, starting at 8 AM, there was loud construction right outside our room, including drilling, stone-cutting, and woodworking. The noise and dust made it difficult to rest before our journey.
3. We reported these issues to the hotel staff, but despite following up, we did not receive any resolution or response.
While the location may be convenient, our experience was not as expected. We hope the management takes guest feedback seriously to improve future stays.

Hotel Maya Alicante is located approximately a 15-minute walk from the beach and a 25-minute walk from the city centre. The breakfast is rich and varied, offering options for every guest. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the hotel’s terrace provides a pleasant space for relaxation. The only minor drawback is the sound insulation in the rooms; depending on your neighbours, there may be occasional noise. However, this does not diminish the overall positive experience of staying at the hotel.

The location is very good with convenient bus connection from Alicante airport, 15min walk to the beach and a great view of Santa Barbara Castle.
The sleep quality is extraordinary with great spacious bed, great mattress and pillows. Rooms are freshly renovated including bathroom.
Breakfasts are a bit dull but some vegetarian options can be found, Cava is available and the breakfast room is bright and sunny to start your day, also no waiting required.
The only downside is the AC/ventillation issue in rooms: there is a lingering smell of cigarettes, bathrooms and other smells possibly from other rooms which means you need to open balcony door when you come back to your room, and when you wake up the smells are still there. Definitely requires attention from hotel managers.

Hotel is situated very conveniently near the castle, bus stop no2 and a tram line which gets you to Benidorm and the city.
Rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. In my eyes the hotel has deserved another star. We only had breakfast and I have to say that the cooked breakfast was awful. HOWEVER all other options were great. They even offered “breakfast Cava”.
I can only recommend the hotel and would return anytime!! 👏👏👏👏
