Me and my girlfriend stayed at the Costa Caleta hotel last week, I cannot fault the hotel in any way especially for value for money in comparison to lots of other hotels. Our room was spotlessly clean aswell as the pool, restaurant and bar areas etc. The food was delicious, especially the lunches, the only room for improvement could be better desserts at evening meal. There was building work over the road which we were aware of before travelling however we hardly heard any noise and didn’t affect us one bit! Self service for a nice cold Amstel beer at the pool which was great and also their wines and sangria were great. It’s also in a great location for the beaches and bars and restaurants etc nearby. And I can’t forget all the staff who were very friendly and hardworking. Thanks Costa Caleta for our stay and the pool view room. I will be recommending this hotel to friends and family 😎

Had a lovely relaxing week in Caleta, the Hotel was ideally placed just off the Town and a 5 minute walk to the volcanic coastline and Sandy Beach. The staff were very friendly, attentive and always on hand, food choices varied, and plentiful, lots of sun beds, and good entertainment in the evening in the lively Bar. My only gripe is the WiFi generally doesn't reach the rooms however is ok in the communal areas. We went at the right time for a peaceful stay (December) however I wouldn't want to go in the height of summer, I would guess too many children may change my view.
Try the rooftop for even more peace although the roof pools were not in use during our stay.
20 minutes from the airport is also a bonus.

The rooms are basic, no kettle, fridge, safe or iron unless you pay extra bearing in mind we are all inclusive. Depending on your room depends on how many channels the television has after you pay for the remote of course. The service seems quick and good to start with but we are on our second day and there are some issues that just dont get resolved, firstly aircon is switched off as it is still classed as winter which I could class as reasonable for locals even though it's 23 degrees and our room has the sun most of the day so heats up, except our aircon control unit is badly broken and missing parts so even if it was switched on it wouldn't work, also how can you say its too cold for aircon but then not heat the pool and the pool be too cold for children to enjoy or suffer? The staff seem to turn off cold drink machines at breakfast in the food area and turn off hot drink machines in the food area during evening meals which is irritating if you like juice with your breakfast or an evening hot beverage after eating. There is no mention of this and our first experience of an all inclusive not having a childrens menu, we have a toddler who knows what the food she enjoys looks like and does not entertain the notion of trying different food without causing issues, there are cold chicken nuggets available for breakfast and at the snack bar but when it come to the evening meal there is zero option for children only the repetitive adult options which are not children friendly. I think my biggest concern so far bearing in mind we are only on day 2, is the fact the "chef"/ server uses tongs to put raw chicken on the hot plate to cook then immediately passes cooked chicken onto people's plates with the same tongs, this is cross contamination and a real food safety issue hence my family will not be eating any meat or eggs after seeing this. The hotel boasts 5 pools yet 3 of these are closed suggesting maintenance but this seems to have been the excuse for months and so you are paying for one very cold pool and one sometimes warm pool both of which are not more than medium size pools and I would not like to see these when the hotel is near full capacity. Finally our last negative although not at all the hotels fault please bear in mind there is a hotel being built opposite this hotel and so there are workmen making noise rather early and have woken our child and us both days so far and this will affect your holiday. Onto a positive with a twist, the alcoholic drinks choice is very good with lots on offer even some cocktails, most locals spirits and beer on tap which you can pull yourself, the twist comes as we have noticed repeatedly different patrons not only requesting no ice but demanding different glasses if ice has been placed into thier glass, this gives the impression that the ice is made on site with local tap water leading to stomach problems. The entertainment is enthusiastic and do try thier best so far but the hotel seems to be running on the cheap and not wanting to reinvest, we believe the hotel may have changed ownership, management or business model as it was at one time highly rated and had good standing but we would not recommend infact we would encourage customers to avoid as this is no longer the hotel it once was and is now an enforcer of the captive market technique, a food safety concern and in an outdated dilapidated state unfortunately in our view. Our photos show the only pools open (please see the shade covering most of both pools) also our aircon controller which is zero use to anyone.

Poor service in dining room never any plates or cutlery ready available waiting or chasing round for these. Drinks machines weren't being filled often enough soft and alcoholic drinks for all inclusive. Very understaffed. Only one toaster for the size of the dining room at breakfast and tea and coffee machines being turned off before breakfast time had finished. The roof top adult only drinks machines were never filled enough especially the water and soft drinks. However couldn't fault the room, bar service day and evening and reception staff very helpful.

We arrived on Friday 8th Nov for a 10 night stay, and firstly our room faced a building site. I asked reception for another room but was told the hotel was full. we were woken at 8am every day Mon-Fri by driiling, hammering etc the usual building site noise. This also made it impossible to sit out on the balcony between 8am-5pm or have a 'siesta' during the day due noise. Pictures attached.
Website advertises 4 bars however only 1 was open at a time and 2 out of the 4 were self service that constantley ran out of cups and different drinks. It was also only possible to get coffee from 1 of these 4 bars.
Then comes the restaurant, i have never experienced such chaos, poor service, poor quality of food and utilities like this before. It was constantley running out of plates, bowls, glasses, cups and cutlery to the point where people were arguing and nearly fighting over these when they were available. This made the whole experience of visiting the restaurant very stressful, and not what you want or need when on your holidays.
The food was very hit and miss, breakfast was ok but didnt always have a fresh egg chef cooking, lunch was ok but again did not always have someone cooking fresh meat and evening meal was awful forcing us to go and eat out nearly every night.
There were also loose tiles on the floors throughout the hotel, many in the restaurant which were unsafe and you had to watch out where u were walking.
For 7 out of our 10 night stay we didnt have any entertainment day or night.
All the above we found out was due to the fact that the hotel owners had not paid the staff hence the lack of entertainment, staff in the restaurant, chefs and also bar staff. They were paid on our 7th day there and i can say the service and facilities improved then. All i say is make sure staff have been paid before you book or you are in for a nightmare.
