There is a reason this hotel is limited to a 3 star status. The rooms are tiny. They overcharge for what they call panoramic lake view. I needed a stool to see over the wall infront of the so called lake view. Housekeeping walks into your room at 7:45am unannounced. Very rude. Bait and switch on the free breakfast. Parking is advertised as included but actually 20 euros per day. Nice pool area but the water is frigid and you can't consume their overpriced drinks poolside. We got a very harsh tonge lashing for doing so by a manager after the bartender agreed we could. Don't waste your time or money here.

Hotel Bellavista has an exceptional location by the lake in Menaggio. We booked an attic room with lake view and it was incredible to wake up to the view every morning. We were a bit concerned after reading guests previous reviews but we found the hotel staff to be polite and welcoming and our room had very good aircon! The service in the restaurant was slow but again all staff were polite. We would recommend for a 3 star hotel with an exceptional location and would stay again when in Menaggio. Thanks for a great stay

I will never stay at this hotel again. The price point for a lake front hotel in Lake Como/Menaggio may be enticing, but my sanity is worth more. Being laughed at by staff and ridiculed is absolutely appalling. Previous reviews are conflicting, however this is my real experience of this hotel. The staff do not attempt to be hospitable in the slightest. Upon check in I received no information at all, literally just handed my card and on my way. Didn’t even know where my room was, no info on the pool or breakfast. Nothing. Please note that these rooms have no air cons. They have decoy panels and a random ventilation system, but it doesn’t actually work. This probably wouldn’t be a problem, but as an Australian the heat was even unbearable for me. I asked on my second day what the deal was and she told me the panel needs to be set at a higher temp not a lower temp to cool down which seemed really strange. It then became unbearable and 28° in my room at 11pm (opening the door doesn’t do anything as there is no breeze in Como). I saw on a previous review someone got a fan so I went down to ask for one, and I literally got laughed at by the lobby man when I asked, he immediately was defensive and agitated and flat out extremely rude. He made me feel very uncomfortable. Not to mention, he had a lovely industrial fan at his desk, must be nice. The hotel is in very average condition, and the wifi does not work. Lake Como is often most a bucket list destination for most, however this stay completely tainted my experience and I’m leaving feeling underwhelmed and uncomfortable. I strongly consider anyone spending the bit extra for surrounding hotels.

I stayed at this hotel in May 2024. The hotel itself was decent, but unfortunately, the staff was exceptionally rude. I usually prefer to avoid negativity and focus on enjoying my holidays, so at the time I chose to overlook their attitude. During that stay, I took some nice photos from the restaurant, which has a beautiful view of the lake. Today, a year later, I wanted to recreate one of those pictures in the same spot. While I was taking a photo near the restaurant entrance, the manager approached me and asked if I was a guest at the hotel. I replied that I was not, but mentioned that I had stayed there the previous year and just wanted to take a quick photo. He responded with, “I don’t think so,” in a dismissive tone, which felt very much like “you don’t look like the kind of person who stays here,” and then asked us to leave. It was a disappointing and unnecessarily humiliating experience, especially considering I had been a paying guest in the past. I would not recommend this hotel based on how poorly they treat people.

Wonderful hotel on the lake in the center of Menaggio! The location is unbeatable and some of the rooms have balconies which makes you feel like you’re waking up literally in the water! The pool is a great addition and the restaurant staff are amazing!
