Firstly, big shout out to all service staff, who work exceptionally hard.
The hotel complex is lovely, spacious and modern, well maintained and clean.
The pool is salt water based, always ‘fresh’ when you first get in. The pool area is kept well cleaned, maintained, hosed down daily etc.
public facilities are all good.
Hotel offers same daily activities such as water pole/daily tournaments/aqua aerobics from the animation team.
Street bar at night has a great vibe!
Food is lovely, lots of choice, definitely worth a visit to the Italien, tavern and steak corner for the all inclusive offer. The steak was amazing! Tavern, great atmosphere. Drinks are chargeable in the Italien and steak corner.
Location, the hotel is just outside Analipsi, there are a few bars here, sadly, not much else. If you want nightlife or shopping you need go to heronnissios. The hotel does a bus (chargeable) a taxi is 10€ each way it’s a 10-15min drive, not really walkable.
We do not speak German so sometimes, although we had a lovely holiday, on occasions, staff spoke to us in German.
We stayed for 10 nights, paid 36€ for a room safe (shame this is chargeable) and 70€ accommodation tax for one room (informed on check out, would be good to be advised on pending charge when checking in)

My friend and I had a great time at Hotel Anissa during our one-week stay.
A few disclaimers before the full review. First, as we came in late April for a week the hotel was at around 70%, which means our experience might be quite different from the full season. Although we were very lucky that the weather was perfect, continuously sunny and between 22 and 27 degrees.
Second, the hotel manager graciously upgraded us to one of the newer, more premium rooms. So I cannot comment on the standard rooms.
Now, the room we were provided was absolutely perfect. It was comfortable, sufficiently spacious and would have been suitable for a family of four since it offers a double bed and two superposed beds in a separate room. The AC was very effective, a dehumidifier was also provided and the sound isolation (considering we had the room just next to the breakfast area) was very good. The only noise disturbances were the neighbour from above stomping and dragging furniture, but no amount of sound isolation can fix this, it's more a matter of individual behaviour. One negative is that the WiFi isn't too great so plan to rather use your phone data if possible.
The cleaning ladies did a good job daily and provided us refills of soap and else when needed.
The hotel is adjacent to its private beach and near small shops. The location was a bit isolated but a bus stop was at 20min on foot with regular buses to nearby cities. Ideally get a car but it isn't mandatory.
The staff in general was very welcoming. Most staff spoke English and German in addition to their native Greek, some even spoke French. Whenever I had a question, whether about the hotel or about touristic recommendations, I always found them very keen to help and pleasant. They would also remember things I mentioned several days before and would come check on me. We had however some rare rude encounters, notably at the early breakfast where the manager proceeded in explaining everything in German in fast-paced despite me answering in English and then got upset at us for failing to comply with his indications. I understand preparing the morning rush is stressful for the staff but it left a sour taste on our departure day.
The hotel offers a very good variety of activities for everyone: tennis (4 courts, 2 of which are free to reserve for all-inclusive guests), minigolf, table tennis, yoga, outdoor pool, indoor heated pool, massages, private beach, etc.
The food and drink options are really great and make the all-inclusive totally worth it.
The various bars offer around 20 drink options all along the day and until quite late in the evening, including cocktails with and without alcohol, red and white wine, beer and soft drinks, all of them for free and without limitation as part of the all-inclusive package.
For food, choices are varied though similarities start to show after a few days, but we never got tired or failed to find one or two new dishes we could try each day. Three specialty restaurants (steak house, Italian and Greek) are also available for free once a week with the all-inclusive, with the exception of drinks which are extra. But by being mindful, one can get away easily with less than 5€ per person per meal.
At the spa, I was guided through the offers by Maria, who spoke great French and went out of her way to help (she even picked us at the side of the road as she drove past us walking back from a walk and gave us a lift to the hotel!). The prices are on par with what one would encounter in a regular spa. I especially recommend the Cretan massage, performed by one of the spa's chiropractors, in my case Leonidas, which I found great.
Photo shoots are also provided "for free" which is nice to get souvenirs (the photos were nice imo) BUT each picture costs 13€ in digital format (unsure about the price for physical but I would assume higher). A discount if you get 20+ or 50+ photos but unless you plan on getting 6 or 7 photos max, be prepared for a spending of at least a hundred euros.
All in all we had a great time and would certainly consider returning!

We are very happy here. The staff are friendly, polite, happy and would do anything they can to help you with whatever you might need. Lovely people! We found the food really good too. There is so much variety and it's cooked to perfection. There are always some typical local dishes from Crete as well, which we appreciate. The hotel has a fantastic pool area, with a bar and palm trees, but if you prefer the sea like us, it is situated right at a beautiful beach.
