We returned to this hotel August 24 after a lovely holiday here last year. The location is outstanding - right on the beach with lots of restaurants/shops in the area and an easy bus ride to the old town (or 30 min walk). Lovely walk along the beach into the main town for even more great restaurants/shops/markets/marina. This year we went half board and were able to swap dinner for lunch when we wanted to eat out locally at night. The restaurant was fantastic - food amazing and the staff were incredible - so friendly and helpful. There is entertainment every days and night and several different pools to choose from. The rooms are tired but perfectly functional for what we needed. Caters really well for little ones - best I have seen. We cannot fault this hotel! Thank you Ciudad blanca for another amazing holiday.

First, the good bits. The food here was fantastic, both the availability and the buffet in particular. We had a view room on the 6th floor that was good for both the scenery and for the shows. On the downside, the beds in bedding were quite uncomfortable. Beds were very hard, and their solution to a double bed was to push two single beds together with no mattress topper. Rooms were a bit dated but very clean and everything worked fine.

This was our second time to visit the hotel after 12 years.
And there is so much to like about it:
+ The crystal clear water,
+ perfect fine sand,
+ excellent beach location and
+ amazing entertainment for guests of all ages.
+ The pools were great,
+ the room was clean and
+ the food was amazing.
There were also some things that we think can be improved:
- Our bathroom had no ventilation and from all the showers we could not clean the room from the humidity
- The windows/doors still do not have mosquito nets. There was not that much mosquitoes, but it would be a welcome improvement.
- Finally our bed was quit loud, would squeaky on every movement.
But overall the vacation was great and we would love to come again.

At first, I wondered why they named their hotel 'The White City' in Spanish. But when you stay there, it makes sense, as they have several white buildings and a large common area, which includes pool areas, an entertainment stage, and a quieter zone near the beach.
We liked everything a lot. The staff were super friendly and helpful, and the view from our room was spectacular. The air conditioning in the room was working well.
The only thing you need to be aware of is the classic sunbed-blocking issue. People go out as early as 06:00 to reserve sunbeds for their entire family, but they rarely start using them before 10:00 because they have breakfast, go for a walk, and so on.
So most of the time, except near the main pool, you'll see sunbeds reserved but unused, making them unavailable even though they’re occupied for only a few hours each day. I’m not sure of the solution, except perhaps implementing a booking system for morning or afternoon slots for the sunbeds. But I guess this happens at most hotels these days. Anyway, we were out walking, so we didn’t mind.
The rooms are not soundproof, so if you plan to sleep early, forget about it, as they have loud music from events until 23:00 each day. However, if you plan to attend the events, I’m sure it’s great, as you won’t be concerned about sleeping.

There are many great aspects of this hotel that stand out and some areas that need urgent attention. We were extremely impressed at the entertainment and staff overall. They are the hotels biggest asset. Food, bar and service is quite good and excellent value. The location is amazing and the grounds are superbly maintained. The rooms however are in desperate need of love. The beds are awful. We needed massages just to recover. The room in general is run down and feels like it hasn't been updated since the 90's. In general we were very happy with the stay but would not really visit again sheerly because of how badly we slept. Animation team are superb though. Impressive you and passionate people providing high energy activities. I don't know how they do it!
