Food 4/5. Most of days were plenty of options. Nice views but hotel rooms outdated, swimming pool too, not heated and a bit dirty. Cleaning process has to be in place. And it's far from all the beaches, you gotta have a car. 90% of people older than 50, so if you are young, I would suggest to pick something else, you will get bored!

I used to go to Cala Millor with my mother to another hotel in the group which I really enjoyed, but wanted to go to the quieter and slightly more remote, and less populated, Costa dels Pins. I got a great price for the booking (though, unlike it says on the hipotels website, it is cheaper on booking.com if you have "Genius" status). I arrived late at night, and was wonderfully welcomed, with a cold dinner kept back for me. The room was very spacious and the bathroom was particularly good, with a strong shower. I liked the way the bathroom was off the spacious reception area in the room, which was, in turn, separable from the room by an internal door, which meant that any corridor noise did not get through to the main room. I had a 'mountain view' room. It does get a bit of noise from the small roadway below - from the service area of the hotel as well as from people using the road as a way to the sea. However, I preferred the privacy of that side of the hotel, rather than the pool/sea view rooms.
The staff at the hotel were excellent. I didn't have many interactions with the reception staff, but they were efficient and polite when I did. The bar and restaurant staff are fantastically welcoming and very friendly, as well as good at their jobs. The restaurant reminded me exactly of the other hiphotel I've stayed at. The food is a bit repetetive for dinner, but extensive. There is a rotation of menus through the week. Certain nights better than others. Breakfast is generally excellent, and eating on the terrace with the marvellous view is a lovely way to start the day.
The hotel itself is very spacious and light and airy. The entertainment in the evening is a bit all pervasive - and it would be nice to have a quiet bar too without it. There is such a space but contains a large screen TV with football on, so not there's not a quiet place to sit and chat in the late evening.
All in all, I really loved staying, and will be back for a stay next year.

I have found my favorite resort hotel. The breakfast and dinner buffet are wonderful. They don't do lunch. They have a nice gym, an indoor pool & outdoor pool, super cool view restaurant in the front of the hotel, everyday events (concert, Flamenco and some sort). It is a kids friendly hotel.

I had mixed feelings when I first read the reviews, with some people loving and others hating the place. However, we are frequently visiting Hipotels around Spain, so I also knew roughly what to expect.
I would say it’s not 100% up to the hipotel standard, since it was formerly Eurotel and some of the facilities need renovation (rooms, air conditioning). However, the location makes up for it, being located at this hill and overseeing the bay. Yes there is no beach, but the sea is amazing to swim. The service is definitely great and I have the feeling some of the criticisms were taken serious (e.g. we found coffee and tea in the room, got a welcome drink, all these things people complained about).
We had a good room, but i can see that some people have problem with the kitchen entrance very close to their room.
You have to understand that one restaurant and the beach beds are not part of the hotel, so yes they cost extra. However, you can still walk from your hotel bed to the sea in less than 1 minute! Also, it’s a hotel with limited space and obviously not everyone can sit outside for breakfast or overlook the bay at dinner.
My criticism:
Traveling with a family, I would like to see more facilities for children (e.g. other 4 star hipotels we stayed had water playing areas and kids clubs).
People reserve beds and there is nothing done about it! Obviously this is due to the guests, but one morning we asked a manager about it and he was just smiling and moving one. The worst thing is though, people reserve beds before breakfast (like at 8:00) and don’t show up until 11/12. Some even reserve empty beds next to them. As a guest this only gives you the option to join the game. I think this can easily be solved with some engagement from the hotel (hint: many libraries give out parking discs to people).
EDIT:
I lowered my rating after completing the stay. At first we didn’t care much about the old facilities but towards the end it really annoyed us. The shower had no water pressure and it took ages to wash our hair. The aircon started every 30 seconds with a super loud noise, so we decided for the window open. However, the trash is collected with a super loud truck around 2/3:00 am!!! Some maintenance work was carried out in the morning, starting with drilling around 8 am. The gym contains many broken machines and there are no weights. The understaffing was really annoying sometimes, as it took on average 10 minutes to get a simple order (e.g. coffee, ice cream).
We complained about the facilities but nothing was really done about it. Despite the nice location, we will probably not come back unless the building gets a renovation. We are also cautious to book Hipotel in the future, as the quality seems to vary a lot (even within the same star level).

Very pleasantly surprised by the fact that it is away from the mainstay of hotels and resorts. Tucked away in a quiet cove that is not packed with people. Hotel has recently been refurbished and is clean and well staffed. The pool area is magnificent with poolside bar and food area. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a relaxing spot to spend your vacation.
