I recently stayed at Crowne Plaza Vilamoura for a few nights, and while there were some positive aspects, a few issues left me feeling underwhelmed. To start with, I was disappointed to encounter silverfish in the bathroom on multiple occasions. This made the bathroom feel less clean and put a damper on the overall experience. Cleanliness is a basic expectation, and this was definitely below par. Another issue was the EUR 25 deposit required per pool/beach towel. While I understand the need for security, this seemed excessive, especially for a standard hotel. It felt more like a hassle than a necessity. The coffee capsules in the room costs EUR 2.5 which I have not encountered at any 5 star hotel I've stayed before. Finally, the queue at breakfast was quite long most mornings. On the positive side, we did get a nice surprise in our room on my birthday with a bottle of sparkling and cake. Overall, while the hotel had some good points, these issues made my stay less enjoyable than I had hoped. I would not recommend or return to this hotel.

We spent a week there with our 2 boys. The service was superb and all staff were so incredibly friendly and helpful. The room was nice and light, with a great view. The pool was huge and the boys were happy to play in it all day long. The breakfast and dinner buffets were fantastic and food was absolutely amazing. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone

A stunning hotel, which leads directly onto the beach. To the right is the new vilamoura, with the yachts, bars, restaurants, and stunning sunset, and to the left of the hotel is miles of beach + the older town of Vilamoura . The breakfast is delicious, a great variety . The lighting around the entire hotel has been so we'll thought through. It's all very soft lighting, giving everything a calm appeal. On arrival, make sure you have a " spare" €25 per person, as you'll need to reserve a towel for your sunbeds.

Absolutely perfection! 5 star quality. We were so sad to leave. Hotel is superby clean, bright and airy. Staff are fantastic and very knowledgeable. We booked a few excursions via the hotel reception whom did it all for us. Swimming pool is huge and very clean with pool bar staff regularly coming to us asking if we needed any drinks. Restaurants are wonderful, good portion size and quality of food was exceptional. Beach is literally 5min walk from hotel. No need to worry about reviews regarding building works we had a side sea view directly opposite the so called building work - see photos (it is 99% complete). It was absolutely no problem at all. Housekeeping was done daily by the excellent cleaning ladies and everything restocked and towels changed daily. Standard Coffee and complimentary water left daily. Mini fridge in the room. The most enjoyable 5 star hotel we look forward to returning too :)

This is an amazing hotel from start to finish, spotlessly clean, friendly & helpful staff on reception, at the pool area, behind the bar and in the restaurant. The rooms are fabulous, huge comfortable beds and so peaceful and quiet. The pool is one of the nicest I’ve seen, huge and really clean. What I liked is that the kids pool area is off in a separate area so there were very few kids running around / playing in the main pool area so it was very relaxing. The hotel is in a great location, you have your own access straight onto the beach and just a short walk from the marina and all the lovely restaurants around. I Would highly recommend this hotel it is definitely worth the extra money.

We have been holidaying at The Residences for ten years now, returning every October. On each visit, we have found it such a delight to return and receive such a wonderful, friendly welcome from all the staff here. The staff at The Piazza Restaurant are always so happy, friendly and welcoming where nothing is ever too much trouble. They work incredibly hard. The rooms are spacious, bright and beautifully laid out and the daily cleaning service is amazing. I think it is very unfair of the negative comments I have read. If you want entertainment then please go and stay at a hotel, the idea of a self catering establishment is just that, you entertain yourself! The majority of people wander to the marina or anywhere else to have dinner and drinks. This is a wonderful holiday complex to visit.

Fantastic place. The apartment was very good, with all the commodities that we needed. Nice balcony to our meals and a full equipped kitchen. The only thing that was less good, was the lack of supervision in the pool. Although there were signs, people still brought their inflatables, games, balls, drinks in a glass an so on. Sometimes you had 3/4 families playing games in the pool from on side to the other. But, overall, it is a fantastic place.

The hotel is relatively small and very friendly. All of the staff were welcoming and whilst out of town away from the marina the area is pleasantly quiet and handy for golf courses. The rooms are relatively spacious and the pool facing balconies nice. Avoid the ground floor rooms especially 011 as they are noisy and close to the reception / bar area.

It's a great hotel for a family situated in a nice, quiet neighborhood just opposite the Hilton. A nice hotel overall, clean rooms and decent breakfast but not many choices. The pool is a bit small but the rooms are spacious. The rooms do need an upgrade, everything works but just need a bit of a new touch. Parking is not an issue, plenty of parking outside of the hotel, the hotel itself has parking area but it's always full. One of the staff, Pedro made our day. He's super friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. Love his energy!!

Such a lovely hotel, with amazing staff and food was the best! Staff was so attentive, very clean room, had an issue with aircon but maintenance was at our room within minutes and offered another room if we wanted. Will definitely be back just for food alone! 100% recommend.

Hotel, staff and food were wonderful. Location quiet which suited us. There is a shuttle bus to the Marina but it is on a limited schedule. Would definitely go again.

Solid 4 star property. Very attentive staff at desk, restaurant and bars. Rooms were very clean but a bit dated. Showers are the absolute worst. Not sure how rooms are not flooded daily as water gushes out over the glass. Service in restaurants and bars was very good. We were there golfing and it served us well.

We stayed at the apartments… excellent facilities… and free access to the spa. Beds comfortable, shower good. A few things need attention - the sofa needed a clean, the spa bubbles in the main pool don’t work. But all in all I’d recommend it.

Incredible hotel. Had a great stay. Would definitely come again. The breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts i’ve had. Food very good and they catered well for my gluten free diet. Bed was comfortable, shower was great. Staff super friendly. Cannot fault my stay! It’s a bit of a way from the marina, but there is a free shuttle and ubers are quite cheap too if you don’t fancy the walk down.

Amazing stay. Great staff. I was upgraded to presidential suite from the start and the customer service was amazing. Anything I needed was resolved ASAP. I would definitely stay again, the location was very peaceful too.

I was very surprised and unhappy I must say. First of all,thank you for the upgrade. The room was very pleasant. Other than that I was not happy. During check in I was told i have an access to the Spa and wellness center and also to the indoor pool. I was very surprised when I came to the spa and was told that I have to pay 25 € in order to use the spa. I was not informed at all that the access is only for gold and diamond members. It is not written at all,anywhere. Not on the voucher,and not on the site. So,yes, I wasn't happy at all. The reception was also not forthcoming in regarding the issue. Your staff needs to be more educated in what a guest can and cannot do and what is included in the price,aswell as acknowledging its own mistakes. The best thing about the hotel is the restaurant and the food,and the rubi bar. Workers there are perfect and very friendly. Other that that,i would not recommend this hotel as a place to stay.

Just had an amazing stay at Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort! The rooms were spacious and modern, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. We enjoyed the variety of delicious dining options and the beautiful pool areas. Perfect for a relaxing and luxurious getaway – highly recommend! PS : Try the Thai pop up best Thai food I ever had !

We booked Anantara having visited the hotel in Oman for a dinner and thinking it was one of the best hotels that we had seen. We therefore had decided that we couldn’t go far wrong, however we were very disappointed. We paid £2500 for 6 nights. The website makes the pool look beautiful, and looking out over an amazing golf-course. However this is old. This golf course is currently a building site. There is not a single patch of grass to be seen. What you can see is diggers and rollers as far as the eye can see building the new golf course. As an added bonus you get all of the dust and noise of a building site while you try and relax by the pool. This had been the case for 3 months already and will be the case for a further few months. The hotel knows this. They deliberately do not let prospective guests know this as otherwise you would not book. The website had boasted adult only pool, eating areas and other facilities. Unfortunately this is not the reality. Large numbers of the families from the family side come over to the adult side every morning and set up camp for the day. The pool regularly had children playing ball games etc. It also meant that the sun loungers were at full capacity at all time. There are no adult only eating areas. It isn’t really possible to have a romantic, or intimate dinners. There were children in the gym, in the lounge by the bar, in all the restaurants and by the pool. The only children free area was the adult rooms. We decided to go for the half-board option at the hotel. The Anantara Vilamoura fell short again. The salad bar, cheese bar, and cold meats are all fantastic, but beyond that the food is more akin to school dinners. The meat, fish and vegetables have all pretty much been sitting hot for hours (especially if you try and eat late to avoid the crèche). The meat and fish was always dry, and the vegetables were grey and soggy. It was underwhelming enough that we ate out on 2 of our nights that we were there despite having paid for dinner. We were told that drinks weren’t included (not an issue given my wife was pregnant and i was choosing not to drink alcohol with her). However when we were charged 14 EUR on the first night for a singular bottle of water i was pretty shocked. They assured me that as it was Panna water this was definitely worth it. Given that a bottle costs roughly 2EUR this seemed ridiculous. We brought our own water going forward. My wife has Coeliac disease and is therefore allergic to gluten. This is especially dangerous when pregnant. At the restaurant they kindly mark up what allergens are in each item in the buffet. However further investigation highlighted that these were not correct. On two occasions we had plates of food taken off us after we just decided to check that they didn’t have gluten in. We were assured on 3 consecutive nights that they would rectify this on the subsequent night, but eventually they gave up and put a sign up in the entrance saying that if you have any allergens you must declare it when you enter and meet directly with the chef. This seems crazy. These meals are charged at EUR50 per head per night. I will leave you to decide if it is worth it. On the positives - the rooms were beautiful and very well set up. The reception and porter staff were charming and very helpful, and, if you eat late in the evening, the restaurant was, if anything, OVER attentive once you were at your table (be prepared to be offered drinks c.5 times in your first 5 mins of sitting). We are generally not big complainers at hotels, we don’t view ourselves as hotel critics or having particularly difficult tastes. However, we felt that we had over-paid for this trip and been mis-sold what we were getting. We are young(ish) and had splashed out a lot on a big holiday that fell quite a long way short of what we were hoping for. Our friends and family have been shocked when we told them that it was an Anantara hotel, given the reputation.

Pay for use of indoor pool. Pay for drinks brought to pool side. Breakfast wasn't the greatest. Meant to be 5 star hotel, seen better 3 star hotels. Free shuttle to maraina at Vilamoura, from hotel and back to hotel wasn't a good service. Had to use taxi's

I’ve been to Portugal a few times and haven’t found a hotel that I’ve really liked that I would go back to. However, I cannot wait to stay in the Anantara again. Me and my partner loved it. The food was great, location was great (especially because we are both golfers) and what made it extra special was the staff. The cleaners were so lovely and they come in a few times a day and make sure everything is stocked up in the fridge. I found the staff really cared about their guests and tbh that can be rare to find. So well done to everyone’s team work. What a lovely holiday we had.

We checked in today and it was below all of my expectations. Since we were early we where offered to go to the pool. The kids pool area looks nothing like the adult area. It's looks like a budget hotel area with dirty sunbeds. We ordered lunch and got served nothing that can be compared to 5 star hotel restaurants. My ceasar sallad was uneatable. The taste was just of anchovies and I had to send it back. My son ordered fish stick and was served some precooked fish sticks that you can buy at Aldi or Lidl. Even though nothing was homemade it was still high priced. We went to the sunbeds and didn't get any service. The toilets was not clean and without toilet paper. The bartender in the lobby area was unable to make a virgin pina colada since it was 90% pineapple juice. Our room was over 30 minutes late and while we got there the shower was full of mold. Later on the late housekeeping continously rang on the door at 9 o'clock while I was in the shower and my kids was sleeping. Who has housekeeping that late on the family area? Since I was in the shower I couldn't open but that didn't stop them from opening the door and after that thet didn't close it properly. Please do your self a favor and book Domes Lake instead. We stayed there the last time and they definitely work harder for their 5 stars.

Booked the hotel as part of a golf package. Great transfers from the hotel to the Dom Pedro golf courses, which were 10-15 minutes away. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel was good for access to the Marina area and the beach. The pool was a good size with plenty of room around it with enough sun loungers that it was easy to find a space. Good bar to service the pool area. Very happy overall and would definitely use the hotel again for another trip.

This was our second visit to this hotel, the first being for our honeymoon in 1999. Whilst the rooms are somewhat dated (still some of the same room and bathroom fittings from when we first visited) this should not detract from what is a wonderfully located and appointed hotel. Firstly, all of the staff were attentive and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. When they found out it was our silver anniversary visit, we received a surprise bottle of fizz and chocolate covered strawberries. A really nice gesture. The best aspect of this hotel is the gardens to the rear. Plenty of space for both sun seekers and those preferring the shade. Always enough sun loungers and thankfully no early morning rush to reserve beds is necessary. Location wise, this place is perfectly situated. Close to the beach and marina but far enough that you can't hear the music etc. From the late night bars. Breakfast offering was excellent with something for every taste.

We enjoyed our 5 night stay. The location of the hotel is convenient - short walk to the beach and harbour, with a convenience store close by. We enjoyed the pool and surrounding area. The pool bar was fairly priced. The hotel was well staffed and staff were polite and helpful. There was a nice view of the beach from our room. Towels for the beach and pool are given to guests which is helpful. The gym didn't open until 10.30am, it would be nice to use the gym in the morning from 7am before it gets hot (even if it is a very small gym). The breakfast area gets very busy in the morning after 9am. The TV in our room worked intermittently. We experienced a leak from the air con in our wardrobe. Luckily it did not ruin our clothes as we noticed it straight away during the night. This was tended to straight away in the morning by the hotel which was good. There were some activities such as aqua Zumba and yoga which were great, it would be good if the hotel promoted these when booking and on arrival. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

From the moment we arrived the staff were helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, even opening the gym up early for me each morning. The rooms were clean and tidy and cleaned each day without any fuss. The location of the pool to the hotel amenities was perfect and the gym well sited next to the pool. The long and sandy beach is really close, no more than a 2-3 minute stroll and from there a stroll along the beach front to the lively Marina - for more shopping! Looking forward to returning next year. Thank you for a great stay.

This is the best hotel in the Algarve. Great location. Clean and well appointed rooms. Fantastic service. The buffet breakfast is top notch and has enough food to keep you full for the day. Every employee makes an extra effort to make you feel welcomed and valued. Lots of restaurants within a 5 minute walk. The beach club was the best I’ve ever been to. If hang around until 3pm the chill out music turns to a great DJ. I’m a travel agent and I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels. This one is extra special. I’m going to be recommending it to all of my clients. Thank you to Mummy and Leandro in the breakfast buffet for remembering my breakfast tea every morning. I can’t wait to go back!

Just finished a 4 night stay here and had a great time. I’m quite hard to please when it comes to hotels but I can’t find anything to complain about with the Tivoli. The pool staff are always coming round taking drink orders, the breakfast has lots of choice, the pool side restaurant has a great daytime menu with amazing pizzas and there is plenty of room around the pool areas! Location wise you cannot go wrong, very close to all the marina bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay here again . Thanks

Nice hotel in a good location. Room was good apart from a few maintenance issues ( balcony door not closing correctly etc.). plus no kettle for tea facilities. Definitely do not book a Marina view if you want sleep. Local bar ( 19th hole.) has pounding music until 2am. I feel the hotel should advise of this considering the cost to stay here.

Expensive but you get what you pay for. Rooms, staff, facilities food all excellent. Location is probably the best in the area. Pool is a bit busy and on the small side for the price, but still amazing and we enjoyed it a lot. Breakfast has everything you would want, high quality food. Star of the show is the coffee shop at the lobby, high quality coffee and don’t skip the sweets as they are very tasty as well. Highly recommend this hotel and would say one of the few hotels we would repeat as we typically like to change it up and don’t go to the same place twice.

We have been coming to Vilamoura on and off for 30 years. Having read the reviews of the Four Seasons we decided to give it a go for a quick 5 day break. It really lived up to its 5 star review rating. Firstly, the staff, Tony at reception, Andre and Paolo at the bar, and everyone else were fantastic. It feels like a family run hotel such was the warmth of their service. Second of all, our room was magnificent. Spotlessly clean and extremely well appointed. Really well maintained by the housekeeping staff. The pool area again was spotlessly clean and had ample well managed sun-loungers. Breakfast was adequate and although not the most luxurious buffet breakfast we have had in our previous stays in Vilamoura, there was enough to keep us both happy. For a value break in lovely friendly surroundings We cannot recommend this hotel enough. Thank you to all the Management and Staff.

Had a week here at the end of June 2024. The staff were lovely. Superb omelette for breakfast. The room was huge and clean. Very well kept gardens. Nice little gym. Amazing huge and comfortable bed. Could not fault the place.

This is a pretty good family resort. We had the one bedroom apartment, which is plenty big for four people (they allow up to three). We were also fortunate to get a room on the top floor, so the views were epic! Service is basic - it's certainly enough, and the staff is friendly, but it's not over-the-top like I've experienced in other 5-star resorts (e.g. in Asia). The breakfast spread is decent - again, good enough but not crazy good. We had just one small meal in the resort, and it was good. The location is pretty good, so long as you have a car. It's a 10 minute drive into Vilamoura. There is nothing of interest within walking distance though. Overall, we had a more than satisfactory experience. Would come again.

I just have to let the world know how wonder everyone in this resort is My husband had a fall today, thanks to the incredible people here they made sure all his needs were met, an ambulance was called and someone stayed with us through all this, until we arrived back at our room seven hours later. Just back from our stay. Can't speak highly enough of the Four Seasons. Staff are so so lovely. The food is superb. Apartments are really big and have everything you need. The cleaning staff are amazing. Probably the cleanist place I have ever stayed. We had an amazing stay!

Lovely quiet area of Vilamoura with a small supermarket, super Indian restaurant, sports club & hotel within 10 minutes walk. The villas were complete with dishwashers, washing machine, iron etc etc & had balconies/patios with seating in a private area. Lovely swimming pool & bar/snack area. The only negative was that the complex was too far out to walk into the town/marina but Uber transport was very reasonable & easily obtainable, also car hire was another option. All the staff were very friendly & helpful. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again

Rooms and Villas are great. Location is fine if you don't mind walking or taking an Uber into the marina or along the coast to more busy towns. Service is great except for the one girl at the bar who's always got a door face on and is quite rude at times. Also likes to close the bar area early even though it's signed closing at 8 pm. Don't try to order cocktails from the bar after 7pm as she's apparently not trained to mix vodka and fruit juice.

Lovely comfortable and clean apartments. Wonderful pool. Helpful and friendly staff. Easy to get a cheap Bolt taxi to anywhere . Lovely place away from crowded places like Albufeira. Quiet and relaxing.. Supermarket very close.

Booked a superior 2-bed villa far from superior . Moved to a 2 bed luxury apartment, which was lovely . Outside areas, lots of rubbish thrown atound bin over flowing . Pool area lovely, but bar shuts at 8 pm reception shuts at 6pm Quiet area but uber service great 👍

Perfect for a quite holiday with a snack bar the snacks are good and the staff are very friendly chips and melted cheese with bacon bits are to die for but if going to marina you have to get uber taxis what a very reasonable priced £3 / 5 euros ………..
