We stayed at this resort 2 weeks ago, first time. Myself, husband and 2 girls (14 and 15). I gave 4 stars for our room only because the sink drain had a strange smell. But the water pressure and temp in showers were always perfect. We stayed at building 6. Housekeeping had our rooms super fresh, the rooms were very clean (despite being dated, they keep their property very clean). Fridge was always stocked. The service from every single staff member there was phenomenal. Staff was so kind, attentive, helpful and made us laugh, feel so welcomed and really connected with us. We requested our room be decorated a certain way for our daughters 13th birthday, and it was beautiful! She felt so special.
At the steak night restaurant a server made Minnie mouse ears out of their cloth napkins and put them on our girls heads, it was so memorable for us. They laughed so much. I really appreciate the kind gestures they have made to make our stay very enjoyable. The food was fantastic and so many options - even for picky eaters (hot dogs, burgers, fries, salads, fruits, the list goes on). They had many shows, which we all absolutely loved. We were however a little disappointed in the lack of loungers throughout the day by the pools. I would see alot of people leave towels on loungers for 3 to 4 hours (while being absent from the pool area), which could have been left open for others to enjoy. But this issue didn't put a damper on our great stay. Our stay was fantastic nonetheless. We will definitely be back. Thank you all at blue bay grand Esmeralda. We appreciate everything you did to make our stay incredible 😊

We stayed at the BB for 7 days with my family and it was beautiful and relaxing. The entertainment team was incredible and so full of energy! We had the pleasure of meeting Silver, Kaci and Alondra. They were so fun!! Their energy was contagious!! Thank you to the all the staff for being so kind and accommodating. I highly recommend this resort for families!

Staff is very friendly and helpful, Jonathan at concierge gladly helped to arrange a chocolate cake for my daughters birthday. Food is good kitchen staff is very pleasant. Service staff is also very pleasant and helpful.
I was not happy that Sunwing never told us about Resort fee. They should have just included it before as it's an all inclusive trip.
Overall good experience

this is in reality more like 3* hotel. We were extremely excited to be staying at your hotel. However, member of your staff named Marco (with glasses) was extremely rude and kept asking us if we have cut the line (even though we havent, we have been waiting the longest! he just didnt see us) just gave us the cards in the envelope without explaining a single thing to us. No one helped us with bags and no one helped us get to the room - we had to ask 3 different people to find it. We didnt know anything about bars and restaurants aswell. All the restaurants were booked days in advance - fully booked - so you cant really get into them. And even when you can then they complain about your shoes (cant go inside with flip flops) and dress. If you plan to act like a 5* fancy expensive hotel then at least behaviour of the whole staff should match this. Dissapointment :(
for this price should have been muuuuch better.
and pools close at 19.00! what the hell!

What a huge disappointment this all-inclusive hotel has been. This is the first and last time I will come. We are a group of 13 people spread across 5 rooms in building 6.
The rooms have worn-out sheets and pillows that are completely flattened, offering no neck support.
There is no hot water supply.
Some rooms gave coffee makers others not.
One of the building's elevators is out of service.
Several rooms have rusted mirrors and rusted sink faucets.
The A/C does not cool properly.
There is no water pressure in the showers.
The 24-hour snack bar in the Black and White area has never been open.
The sound in the theater is deafening due to poor acoustics.
The food is terrible. And instead of using disposable cups we have been using recicable ones that who know how are being wash and sterilized.
5 members of my group got food poisoning and no one seems to care.
The hotel tend to rent or organize private parties for guests and while you are enjoying the pool the staff comes and kick you from the area to set up.
There are no enough beach beds in any of the pools neither on the beach. If you want a cup of wine in a bar near the restaurant they serve you the wine in glasses instead of cups because they don't hav.
The hotel is understaffed, and the remaining employees seem more focused on keeping their jobs than on providing good service.
Additionally, my youngest child had to cut off the wristband identifying him as a guest. When I went to get a replacement, neither reception nor guest services would help. The assistant manager didn’t even show up and only offered a 50% discount, something that was never explained during check-in regarding the importance of keeping the wristband number.
To top it off, a receptionist threatened to call security simply because I was asserting my rights. As someone with over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, I know the saying, "the customer is always right." It’s clear that in this all-inclusive hotel, everyone is afraid to speak up and make improvements.
If you wish, you can find out who I am, as I will be staying here for several more days. I am a highly dissatisfied guest. This hotel does not deserve the 4-star rating it claims to have—it doesn’t even reach 3 stars.
