We stayed at the hotel for 5 days. The garden, beach and the hotel surroundings are beautiful. We booked the garden view room and we were assigned a room on the first floor looking at the back of the hotel towards the desert. We spoke to reception about it and showed the photos of the garden view room on booking and hotels.com to explain why we were disappointed with the room. They eventually moved us to an actual garden view room after our second night. The staff are usually very friendly and helpful but we had some interactions with staff who made us feel like they did not care at all about our experience. The prices of food and drinks are super expensive and not worth it. The spa is extremely dated and they charge for ALL spa facilities even the heated pool and steam room and they don’t even have the most basic stuff like a sauna which is shocking for a spa hotel. The spa treatments are as expensive as 5 star hotels in London. Our overall experience was good but they need real improvements because it definitely does not feel like a luxury 5 star hotel.

The hotel grounds are beautiful! The staff are super friendly and it’s really nice to lay on the pool or beach lounges in the sun. The breakfast is also super delicious and slightly varied each day.
The hotel is a bit far away from restaurants (other than those in the hotel) or local shops so you’d have to be ok with walking 20-30 mins or getting taxis.

The hotel itself was fab. Our Prestige Suite was beautiful. However - as travellers who prefer to sometimes eat in our suite, we cannot recommend the Sofitel Agadir Thalassa sea & spa in 2025. Without exception, our room service meals were stone-cold, not fully cooked and late. The staff seemed incapable of understanding our basic request to have the food arrive warm and properly cooked. No effort was made to compensate for this disappointing experience. I'm only posting this because nobody asked us how our stay was when checking out. Customer service 101 🫤

We visited at the end of November when it was still lovely and hot… but the hotel was so quiet! It was great. Two pools and the spa mostly to ourselves, and I beat my other half at table tennis lots. (Apologies to anyone who heard his disgruntled losing noises). We got room service and ate breakfast out on the balcony and I think I probably put on weight. The pastries were worth it though.
This hotel had so many places to sit. Sofas to suit everyone. You could sit on a different chair in the communal areas every five minutes and still have more chairs to sit in by the end of the week. Perfect for chair lovers (and people who want a quiet read) alike.

Ok, but not a five star experience.
Positive: nice lobby, good location, access to the beach and close to a nice surfing school
Negative: the room was advertised with a partial ocean view - there was no view at all. It was pretty pricey, compared to the other hotels in Morocco we stayed in it was underwhelming. The staff was sometimes very nice (during breakfast), but sometimes we needed to wait for ages for something we ordered. The food in the restaurant by the beach was unfortunately not good, we were surprised - also quite expensive for what it was. The wait at the check in was quite long as well.
