The supposed upgraded rooms are not upgraded at all except a reasonably new bathroom. Very dated hallways with uneven flooring. Big banners advertising late check outs which you have to request on the morning of check out (so what's the point?) and even then it wasn't offered. The room was clean but nothing to clean dishes with etc. The balcony looked on to the exhaust fans for the restaurant downstairs.

I am disappointed and would never go back to this hotel. The problem started with the fact that we booked through Booking.com. It was impossible to contact/get anything from the hotel management. Our plane was expected to arrive earlier than the allowed check-in time, so I tried to contact the hotel several times and all in vain. Finally after about 8 hours on the road and plane we arrived at 3pm to the reception where we were told our room was not ready. Ok, we left our luggage and waited another hour. When we got our room I was honestly upset. It's not what I saw in the photos when i was booking. It looks more like an emergency room, to be honest. There is no microwave, there is not even a kettle, I had to make tea in a coffee machine. The appearance of the kitchen, the cabinets are hanging, the refrigerator is old, the look of the room is as if I came to my grandmother in the village, and not on vacation. The room is dark, scary. At night I could hear a beeping electrical sound from the lamp. I do not think the air conditioner works for heat, I tried to make it warm but I was cold at night. When I went to the reception and wanted to know what the problem was, I was told that there are renovated and non-renovated rooms, I have exactly that. I tried to find out from them how I could know renovated or not if their photos are all the same? There will be no such photos on their website either. The corridors are terrible, it's all old and I think it's an emergency condition (Lobby is beautiful but far from lobby …) . When we had a plane at 7 pm and asked to stay a couple of hours after 12pm, we were refused. This is really the worst hotel I have ever been to, I don't think they are interested in customers . The location of the hotel is great, you have many buses nearby, shops, the sea is not far away and also the Dunes.

The reception staff are incredibly rude & make you jump through hoops just to get back into the hotel past midnight, one night we were told to get out because we didn’t have ID after returning from the club. I’ve never seen this before. The room was a nice size but many things didn’t work. The TV didn’t work at all, the shower was broken and fell on me. The aircon was also blowing freezing air throughout the room for the entire week, even when we put it on a hotter setting or tried turning it off. Not the worst place in the world but don’t book if you’re looking for somewhere to feel welcome, it almost felt as if they hated tourists

This is one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed. The booking process took over an hour! The old receptionist was so unbelievably rude and dismissive and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. The hotel it's self is impressive in 1960 the rooms are old run down and needs a complete refurb. Also no plug socket in the bed room none in lounge apart for the one for the TV and 1 in the kitchen. So forget changing your phone and table at the same time. This hotel was so bad I had to book into another hotel, please safe your hard earned money and book another hotel.

The hotel is undoubtedly one of the most charismatic properties around, with a rich history that shines through. However, it doesn't seem to withstand the test of time as well as one might hope. After staying for a month, here are my conclusions:
Reception and Staff:
The reception area and staff are excellent. The team is friendly and welcoming, though the service could be a bit quicker at times. The reception has undergone renovations that thoughtfully blend the charm of the past with modern updates.
Pool Area:
The pool area has been renovated and is pleasant to use, though I did miss the larger pool that the hotel once had. On a positive note, the sunbeds are not made of plastic, which adds a nice touch.
Corridors:
The corridors could use some attention when it comes to cleaning. It seems that instead of using a vacuum cleaner, the carpets are cleaned in a way that doesn’t effectively remove dirt or debris. This left the hallways looking less than fresh and affected the overall impression of the hotel.
Room (Deluxe):
We stayed in a renovated deluxe room, but unfortunately, it didn’t fully meet the expectations of its description. While the room is spacious and minimalistic (with a predominance of white), it felt a bit too sparse, especially with limited storage options. A drawer or two would have been a welcome addition, particularly for longer stays.
Housekeeping:
Housekeeping was disappointing. While towels were changed, the bathroom cleaned, and the bed made, the service was limited to basic maintenance. The description of the service mentioned “limited cleaning,” which was accurate, but it would have been helpful to have cleaning supplies available, like a mop or dishwashing liquid, for guests to use as needed. The staff are though really friendly and respectful.
Beds:
The mattress, unfortunately, was a significant letdown. It was uncomfortable, and certainly not what I would expect from a "deluxe" experience. This is an area that definitely needs improvement.
Shower:
Poorly design shower that cause some mild flooding in the bathroom. They took care of it within 2 days.
Wifi:
Quite unstable WiFi which did not allow you to stream or scroll on social media.
Room Finishing Touches:
Finally, the finishing touches in the room were not well executed. Some areas could have been more carefully attended to, as there were small details that detracted from the overall impression.
In summary, while the hotel has undeniable character and charm, some aspects, particularly in terms of comfort and attention to detail, need improvement to truly match its potential.
