Stayed here for 1 week in February 2025.
Positives:
- Location, location, location. Direct on the promenade and the beach
- Great animation offerings and personnel. Jose and Irina did an amazing job. Unexpectedly good shows in the evening given the size of the resort.
- Pool area is large and we could always find free loungers - the towel policy helps (and keeps people from "reserving").
- Drinks prices fair
- Restaurant staff very friendly. Vicy did a great job for us!
- Cleaning staff friendly and thorough.
- WiFi worked well for us.
Areas for improvement:
- we were initially assigned the wrong room type, but this was corrected. As we booked direct with the property, it would have been nice to get a preferential higher floor though.
- evening buffet seating area gets crowded - if it wouldn't have been possible to eat outside, it would have been difficult to get seating.
- evening buffet food choices were average - there were themed nights and a good variety, but no show cooking and standard quality. Drink prices were good though (we had half board)
- the ocean front rooms are somewhat small, but well appointed. Bathroom was nice if small.

What a fantastic slice of paradise!
From the moment we checked (Miriam was fantastic) to our final meal the entire hotel staff have been fantastic and friendly.
Everywhere is spotlessly clean, and the housekeeping team do an excellent job.
So many activities to do!!!
The hot & cold food is varied with themed nights each week.
So close to the beach and listening to the waves to get you off to sleep is magical!!
Thank you x

Overall had a nice stay, but a lot of cons and the hotel unfortunately doesn’t seem able to help with the problems.
To start with the pros: a nice location right on the beach, with a gorgeous boardwalk for walking and running. The ocean was really lovely to swim. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of sunbeds near the pool. The staff were friendly.
For the cons: first we didn’t get any sleep, as there was a lot of noise. Our room was on the highway with buses, and one side was a sports club and the other side a lot of bars. Loud music and talking and traffic all day and night. We asked for another room but was told it is impossible. Apparently if you pay more money, they will put you somewhere quieter. Given how much we paid already I was surprised by this.
There were also a lot of little things- the “heated” part of the pool is cold (no one was swimming), the gym has no real equipment, the food was not very good (the pizza is literally supermarket quality but the same price as the amazing Neapolitan Italian restaurant next door), bar drinks not too good and overpriced, etc.
The hotel also tries to be very frugal- if you want to change your pool towel , have a bathrobe, use a safe in the room, literally everything costs extra. All you get is your room with the very basics.
We didn’t get all inclusive but based on the few times we ate at the hotel and the price, as compared to the very good restaurants right next door for fair prices, I’d say not worth it.
So, if you get a better price and can have a quieter room and know you won’t have any frills, it is worth it. Eat next door at the great restaurants - especially Italian, Thai, Indian, etc. Otherwise look elsewhere, in my opinion.

“Exceeded Expectations – Highly Recommended”
We had an amazing experience here! The food, cocktails, and staff were all fantastic. Cleanliness and upkeep were clearly a priority, which we really appreciated. For a three-star hotel, it exceeded our expectations—especially since we typically stay in four-star or higher accommodations.
The surrounding area is quiet but offers plenty of good restaurant choices nearby, all of which were great. The only minor issue was that the sunbeds were a bit uncomfortable, but this didn’t detract from the overall experience.
Highly recommended!

First the pros - The hotel is in a good location right on the beach. There are loungers where you can swim in the sea, but these are not part of the hotel, so will cost you 9 Euros for 2 people. The pool area is clean and there are plenty of loungers, though the pools are not heated, so you won’t see many people swimming. There are some seats at the front of the hotel overlooking the beach with a nice view. The fact it is adults only is great.
The breakfast buffet is average. The fruit selection is good at the start of the day but towards 10am there isn’t much left, only tinned fruit. We didn’t have any other meals at the hotel, but there are lots of places nearby you can eat, Italian, Thai etc
Now the cons - if you book a double standard view, be warned your room will be above a supermarket, in a separate building, away from the main hotel. The balcony overlooks the main road into town and a smaller road, which means the room is very noisy at all times of day. There are frequent buses, trucks and you can hear loud music and talking from the bars nearby. At no point did we sit out on our balcony or spend much time in the room as it wasn’t relaxing.
When we said we didn’t like the room, manager Francisco did not care. No “sorry to hear that”, he just said, bluntly, “this is the room you booked”. Fair enough, I said, are there any other rooms available? He then spent 5 minutes tapping away on his computer, completely ignoring me, then said “yes, but you have to pay 55 Euros extra (11 per night)” to upgrade. I asked him where this room was, if it was a better view. He said “second floor, over there” while vaguely waving toward the main hotel.
We decided against this as we were already on the second floor and some of the rooms in the actual hotel overlook a side road and the hotel car park.
As someone who works in customer service, I can safely say, Francisco should NOT be working in this job - he has no people skills and cannot even smile from my experience.
Onto the next issue we had - the room was very far to walk from the main hotel. As you will see in my photos, there was an exit opposite our room, which you can leave by, directly down to the supermarket entrance, but you cannot enter this way. This could be very easily remedied by putting a key card at the top of the stairs for the “budget” guests away from the main hotel.
There is a massage spa, “Sbanga Spa” as part of the hotel, so we booked a couples massage for our last day for 4pm, but when we arrived, the woman working there said there had been a mix up, and it wasn’t possible. She was, however, very apologetic. I would recommend the nearby “Daysen massage” company which is a short walk away from the hotel.
Lopesan’s marketing makes them out as a high end chain, but all you get are the basics, there are charges for any extras you want, such as a clean beach towel. The hotel will not provide you with an iron. There is a “48 hour” laundry service which you have to pay for. Fine, we thought, we handed in 3 items of clothing on Friday morning. We did not get them back until Tuesday evening, 4 days later - why? The laundry service does not work weekends! This information is not included on the paperwork for the laundry service. So we ended up paying 15 Euros for our clothes to go on a little journey, be ironed, then come back as we were packing our bags to leave. When we complained, the woman on the front desk, again, did not apologise or offer a refund, and was very blunt.
We have stayed in a Lopesan hotel before, Kumara Serenoa, where the customer service was much better, but sadly we will not stay in this chain again.
