We just spent February midterm at this hotel with our 4 children on half board basis. We had the most wonderful time there. We were a bit put off by the reviews but our experience was amazing. It was perfect for families. Two of us are gluten free and the chef was amazing and always showed us what we could eat at each meal. The rooms were clean and the pool area was amazing with the kids, although the pool isn't heated, it was fabulous. It's right on the beach so we walked along the board walk every day and swam in the sea. We even managed to see the sun rise one morning. Nice playgrounds within 5 minutes. Good WiFi in the room as I had to work from there. Our balcony was a suntrap in the evening so we could sit out and enjoy a glass of wine. It is definitely in need of painting and some upgrading but it's spotless and the staff are friendly and welcoming and even though we arrived late at night, they kept dinner for us. Great value for money and we will definitely return! Thank you for our holiday in Paradise!

I’m Spanish and I went on holidays to see my family in malaga for new year with my husband and 2 children. The staff are absolutely Amazing!!! I need to highlight Miguel who entertained my children in the mini club every day so my husband and I have some time for ourselves too. One of the girl (from Cadiz )in the restaurant was such a wonderful lady who made me feel so welcome. Thanks to her and a lovely man who welcomed us to the restaurant every day. I could thank everyone as they were all amazing. The location couldn’t be better right at the beach. You can hear the waves from the rooms which is wonderful. Very close to everything. The variety of food was excellent. All type of food and all tastes even for fussy eaters. So very highly recommended even if it needs a bit of update it’s all super clean. The rooms wear great clean with a really nice view. The location was really good too plenty of restaurants about, but we went all inclusive and the food was terrible especially that me and my partner were vegetarian and non of the foods were labeled properly, just things like salad or sauce ... and the staff seemed like they couldn't be bothered dealing with any of us.

Great hotel but unfortunately the food isn't great. It's cold and they seem to offer the same food every service. Tonight whilst I was sat eating my dinner I watched a guy cooking the meat put rubber gloves on. He picked up raw chicken and put it onto cook then he picked up raw steak with the same gloves on and put that onto cook. He then went and leant against the wall with his hands behind his back. With the gloves still on. He then walked over to the meat cooking and put cooked meat under the hot plate. All of this whilst wearing the same gloves her touched raw chicken with. To top it all off he then went into the fridge. Took out a bag of chips put his hand into the chips and took out hand fulls and put them onto cook. I think he needs to learn about Cross contamination. Put me right off my food

We have stayed here before as he location is perfect. Right on the beach with amazing views and a short stroll along the boardwalk into la cala. The downside is the rooms are dated and could do with attention, especially the bathroom, with a stained bath, dirty floor drain and small, threadbare towels. We used the tea/coffee facilities within the room on the first day however supplies were not replenished for the remainder of our stay which was disappointing. Breakfast was the same every day with plenty of variety it was just not hot enough. Sunday there was no one preparing fresh eggs and bacon which was again disappointing

We stayed as a couple and had a really nice trip the room was beautiful but did have small things wrong like a few ants on the bathroom floor and the tv didn’t work. However the hotel was in a beautiful location with amazing views and 5 minute taxi to the local town of Mijas Pablo - which was stunning. The hotel also had a private swimming pool, sauna and steam which we enjoyed. Overall we had a nice stay and would come back again.

We had a lovely stay for our honeymoon, the staff was made aware and would congratulate us. We were received with a bottle of very nice fizz in our room. Excellent service, very clean and beautiful views. Buffet for breakfast had plenty of options. Would definitely recommend. Not very far.from Fuengirola beach

I had a great stay at Hotel Ilunion in Mijas. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The staff provided excellent service throughout my stay, always friendly and attentive to any requests. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice, well-kept place to stay in Mijas

This is a nice hotel with fantastic gardens and pool. Very good food evening and breakfast. Open shady courtyard a pleasure to relax in. Only let down by the rooms not being ready when our party arrived. We were delayed our planned arrival to accommodate but still had to wait for nearly 1 hour before our room was made ready. The location is outside Mijas making the need for bus trips necessary if you want to go out.

Beautiful hotel set into the hillside overlooking the coast and the sea. I would describe it as "old school charm". Tastefully decorated, lovely bar area and salon. The terrace next to the bar is wonderful. Whilst it was too cold to use the pool ( we were there in early February) there were plenty of loungers and one didn't feel cramped. The pool looked lovely. There are lots of terraced where you can sit and read and have a wonderful, view and listen to the many birds. The location is excellent,a short walk to the many bars restaurants and shops. Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. The room, whilst a little tired, was perfectly comfortable and very clean. We only ate there once ( club sandwich) which was excellent value. I would certainly come back here again.

Read some of the reviews before coming here-when they say the walls are thin... they re paper thin and you can hear everything your neighbours are doing ... coughing, farting, making a brew, talking... everything. Apart from that, the rooms are nice, cleaned daily, comfy beds and a kettle! Food is alright... choice at breakfast is ok but not changed up much so bit tedious by end of the week. Beer is quite expensive. Billiards room in the lobby bar was a great activity to do when the weather wasn't great. Outside- there are lots of loose flags on the patio areas, sun loungers are uncomfortable but plenty to go at so always have somewhere to lay. Pool is freezing so be brave! We were put in a room on the lower floor overlooking the outside terrace - this is where they host biking excursions and they have vans outside your balcony door early in a morning, loading up bikes and people every day with lots of noise which isn't great when you've come away to rest! Spa was closed due to plumbing works on our trip which is a shame so never got to use this facility. We used the gym a couple of times which is a nice addition and a nice sized room with a good selection of equipment. Great location for the village of Mijas, shop across the road, lots of restaurants to choose from and some nice walks to do too. Although after a week, you're limited to what you can do/see as you've seen it all in a couple of days. Not much to do if the weather isn't great! Staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, some good and bad points but still had a lovely holiday as the atmosphere around the hotel is very calm, quiet and pleasant.

Room was adequate and was cleaned everyday. Had some issues with the sound of water gushing through the pipes. First few nights it lasted between 1-1 half hours but fifth night it started at 2.30 until 6.50 am. I mentioned to reception and after that we had two quiet nights. It's Room 26 above the Spa so try and avoid that. Other than that no negatives this is a beautiful authentic Spanish hotel. The views are stunning and the location is perfect the town is on your doorstep. Breakfast was good but we didn't have evening meal so can't comment. Bar and restaurant staff were great. Reception staff were great too. Would definitely go back.

The rooms are clean although need a complete refit. The walls are so thin that you can hear bathroom noises and conversations in the rooms next door. The man next door snored all night for the week he was there. Luckily I had ear plugs but asking your neighbor's to turn their music and tv down was not very nice as they were not playing them loud but the walls are too thin. The beds were comfortable . It was not the best weather while we were there and while the public rooms were warm the bedrooms were not very warm and it's not possible to change the heat settings. The patio doors do not fit very well and opening and closing them proved difficult and the wind whistled through them moving the curtains. The staff in this hotel are fabulous especially Maria in the bar and allways have a smile and are very helpful. The hotel is also in a fabulous position within easy walking of the beautiful shops and fantastic selection of bars and restaurants. I hope they update the bedrooms soon which will make a huge difference to the comfort of the guests. The public areas are very traditionally Spanish which was lovely and the views from the Restaurant and bars are spectacular. The breakfast was not great , plenty of choice but poor quality.

Just spent a fabulous week at this gorgeous hillside hotel , spotlessly clean , every member of staff greets you with a smile . The breakfast is an amazing banquet of hot and cold foods. Evening meal was a bit hit and miss but I will book B+B next time . Although not marketed as adults only it attracts an older age group I seen 2 children during my stay . The pool is fabulous and the sunbeds are in abundance. The beds were so comfy and the outdoor balcony terrace had 2 chairs and a table . The fridge kept my water and snacks nice and cold It's location on the hillside gives it the most breath taking views and it's a very short walk to local restaurants/ bars and shops .
