This is an apartment-hotel and not sure how it is a 4 star one. It is spacious and conveniently located on the marina. You are a few steps from the marina, where there are plenty of restaurants. The grocery is also a short walk away if you are not planning to rent a car. However, this hotel has little to no amenities. They give you 2 coffee capsules and any additional, you will need to purchase with front desk. We reserved a marina view but was given a pool view. When asked, they said it was all booked. Ridiculous. Didn’t even bother to do any compensation for it.
The self-service if nice but a pain in the rear to use. You will need to purchase a token from the front desk. And many times it is not working, then you will need to walk back to front desk.
The pool is spacious. However, there isn’t a lot of umbrellas. And the few they have people wake up early to claim the chairs by clipping their towels to it all day. Wish the hotel could control this. A lot of the chairs are unkept and dirty.
Would I return? Most likely not. For the price you pay, you get the same amenities if not more with an AirBNB near by.

We're just back from a really enjoyable stay at the Marina Club Lagos; our second time. We (2 adults and 2 seven year old children) stayed in a one bed apartment in the Suite Hotel part of the development.
Room - had everything we needed. The double bed in the bedroom and two sofa beds in the living room were all comfortable. The sofa beds were 2 meters long and were open on both sides which made them feel like proper single beds when sleeping on them. The kitchenette has a full sized fridge with a small freezer section, hobs, a microwave, kettle, toaster and coffee maker and plenty of utensils - would be handy to have a small oven. Bathroom was nice. Towels were changed regularly (plus you can drop into the spa reception to get free towels for the pool!!!).
Pool area was really nice. It's got a splash pool for toddlers. The main pool has a shallow end that takes up around a third of the pool. It gently goes to about 1 metre (3 foot) deep, then a drop to a short section at 1.2m deep and then 1.8m deep. The pool could benefit from some depth markings, or lines, within the pool as the depth markings are on the surface outside the pool. The were plenty of loungers available. And I always found it a relaxing place to be - thankfully no music, just the sounds of other guests and splashing of water.
Food options were fine. We ate breakfast at the hotel for a few days and had lunch at the restaurant a few times. There's loads of choice for restaurants in Lagos, at the town, at the marina and at the beaches.
Service was generally very good. Reception was always efficient, gave good advice and were very friendly. The spa staff were very friendly when we were getting the pool towels. Housekeeping staff were good. The restaurant service was a little hit and miss depending on the server - they accused us of not paying for a previous day's breakfast which was pretty irritating and took time to sort out.
Any tips? Pingo supermarket is 5 minutes walk away (adult pace) and has everything. Bahia Beach bar on Meia Praia Beach was really good.

Front desk people seemed not to care about much. 10 euros yo work out I the gym. That’s not in the advertisement. Room is a large and good for families but if you’re solo traveler or a couple, stay away. There are many many small children. Stayed at many other hotels in the Algarve with the same price. They were much much nicer. Disappointing.

The apartment was great for 2 adults and 2 kids, especially if you want to cook instead of dine out. The walk to downtown was about 12 minutes, and same with the beach. The grocery store is close by which was nice. Overall a fine stay for a small family with an average budget.

I got the dates wrong on my no-refundable booking for a 3 bed apartment. Arrived the day we were booked to leave.
Resort team were very understanding and allowed us to say without further cost.
Many thanks Marina Club Resort.
