Ok, I've spent a nice week at the hotel in first part of October so here is my review.
First thing first, if you are looking for a real 5 star experience this is not it. While some elements are almost up to par, other lower the rating.
1. Localization:
Good - next to the beach, close to the biggest city on the island, nice park next to the hotel, nice clean pools.
Bad - Nothing interesting in walking distance, power plant as a view, next door hotel can get noisy (so can be the workers picking up supplies and trash), no chance for a sea view.
Rooms:
Good - Clean, comfortable bed.
Bad - outdated and in need of renovation (bathroom!!!), extra paid safe!
Restaurant:
Good - Wide selection of foods, themed restaurants.
Bad - Overcrowded! even after the main season! Main restaurant is just too small! sometimes the staff took the old plates while I was getting more food and I lost my place!!!
Food:
Good - traditional food from Crete, fresh, some good items in the selection almost all the time (fish, shark, seafood, beef, salads).
Bad - very uneven taste and quality, pork and chicken usually quite bad, breakfast is just repetitive and bland (scrambled eggs are just terrible, not freshly made omelet), watered down juices, small and repetitive lunch selection at the beach bar.
Drinks
Good - some good selection with few that are ok
Bad - some are just laughably bad, especially with orange juice or rather orange looking water! Everything felt as cheap as possible!!
Beach:
Good - clean and good number of sunbeds
Bad - some rocks, not really much of an infrastructure
Staff:
Nothing bad to say, very nice and helpful. Some nice animations and live music but not too often sadly.
Overall 6/10 experience and I am being very generous here. Only take all inclusive as half-board is beyond ludicrous expensive! Also as this hotel is rated 5 stats the local tax is very high!!!
The price to quality ratio not great!!
PS.
Side note for the travel agency - Coral Travel - Avoid them due to overpriced trips and no real care for the person paying!!!

It's a really nice location with mostly friendly workers. Great animators are the souls of Apollonia and do everything to make this place alive and interesting. Great beach, pleasant pools. Near to the airport. The hotel shop is not overpriced. Spa is expensive, but massage is really good. Night life in the hotel doesn't really exist. After the show, you can just enjoy drinks at the lobby bar. If you are looking for silence and relaxation, with not overcrowded beaches, it's a good choice in September.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The food was delicious, our room was kept very clean by the excellent housekeeping staff and the evening shows were very entertaining. (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️😄)
The absolute highlight of our stay was the animation team; they were very friendly and engaging, and the Mini-Club was fantastic for our kids. (⚽️🏓🤽🏽♂️⛳️🎨🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🤩)
The only minor downside was the room amenities, which didn’t quite meet the expectations of a 5-star hotel. (⭐️⭐️⭐️😐) Unfortunately, the response to our complaint was not better. (⭐️⭐️🙁)

We had a lovely stay. If you are able to accept the Greek easy going style of life, you will be have a good time. The resort has it's quirks, given it's age, but the stuff is making sure you are well cared after, some going extra mile, namely Lefteris, working in main restaurant and day bar area, what a top guy!

Beware of Payment Issues and Rude Staff
I recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights with breakfast included, booked through Booking.com. I paid €429 in advance, and the payment was confirmed by the platform. However, upon check-in, I encountered a frustrating and unpleasant situation.
The two receptionists, one older and one younger, both of whom were extremely rude, presented me with a note stating that I owed €405 for the stay, plus an additional €40 as a climate tax. I was confused because I had already paid in full via Booking.com, including all taxes. Despite showing them my booking confirmation, they insisted that they had not received any payment and demanded I pay an additional €445. They even presented a card terminal and expected me to settle this amount immediately.
When I refused, the older receptionist called what she claimed to be the manager, and I was told the issue would be sorted the next day. I contacted Booking.com as suggested. When I returned the following day, neither of the receptionists seemed to know what was going on, and the younger one rudely said, “Excuse me, what?” when I inquired about the payment. It was a very unprofessional and stressful situation.
Though the stay proceeded normally after that and no further payment was demanded, the initial experience was enough to put me off. Furthermore, when we asked to upgrade to all-inclusive for just one day, the hotel refused, saying it was only possible for the entire stay – which was incredibly disappointing since we only wanted to enjoy a day at the beach with drinks due to the great weather.
While the hotel itself was fine, I strongly caution anyone staying here to be prepared for confusing payment issues and rude staff. Watch out, especially for the two women at the front desk.
