Ignore the bad reviews, would suit a stay for a family or couple, we came here for a family stay, we stayed in April and this hotel is excellent !,
I would highly recommend this hotel, hard to see why anyone would be disappointed ?
Comfortable bed clean room with hair dryer, safe (you get a key from reception) and fridge, the staff are really friendly and helpful, the food is excellent !!, one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in for food !
There’s a choice of 3 swimming pools 2 outdoor and 1 indoor, you’re able to rent large towels from reception, for a €5 deposit each so no need to pack your own !!, there’s also a well equipped gym,
Really enjoyed sitting in the Olive bar in the evenings the bar is so nice and peaceful after a hard day exploring Malta, some nights there was a singer which was fun !

Not a happy experience, staff tried their best, but hotel being renovated, lift and some public areas closed, builders everywhere. Pools looked good. Food at buffet good, a bit tepid, but whole experience spoiled by hordes of disorderly students and conference delegates with no manners, long queues to get food. Room tired and dated but clean enough. No view, just apartment block opposite. Located up a steep hill from main road. Altogether not the 4 star experience we were sold. Management unwilling to engage either in person or by email.

Soreda Hotel, Qawa, Malta: A Family Holiday Review (April 7th - 12th, 2025)
Our family recently returned from a five-night stay in Malta, based at the Soreda Hotel in Qawra. While the island itself offered a wealth of historical and cultural experiences, our accommodation and initial travel arrangements presented a mixed bag.
Our journey commenced smoothly with the efficient "pay and ride" scheme at Gatwick Airport's South Terminal. Arriving at a quiet time meant no queues and a swift 17-minute transfer. The short 3-hour flight to Malta was a definite plus, though we would advise fellow travellers to ensure they have onboard refreshments as in-flight options can be costly.
Malta International Airport, while smaller than Gatwick, proved to be well-organised and facilitated a quick passage through. The welcome implementation of technology at both airports, allowing electronics to remain in hand luggage, was a notable time-saver.
Our pre-booked airport transfer, unfortunately, was changed to a crowded shuttle bus a week prior to departure. This experience highlighted the potential drawbacks of such transfers, particularly on Malta's winding roads. The erratic driving led to discomfort for our 8-year-old, unfortunately resulting in travel sickness. As the second to last drop-off, the journey to the hotel exceeded an hour, a less than ideal start to our holiday.
Upon arrival at the Soreda Hotel, the presence of ongoing building works created an immediate impression of a construction site. Check-in proved to be a protracted affair, marred by a lengthy staff dispute with another guest followed by a frustrating 15-minute period of being ignored. This, coupled with our early start, left us feeling distinctly unwelcome. We also noted the mandatory city tax of €5 per adult payable upon check-in, a point worth noting for future visitors.
Our allocated room, while featuring the promised balcony, offered a disappointing outlook, facing an adjacent building and surrounded by others, devoid of any view. The room itself felt dated and lacked attention to detail. The patio doors were faulty, and the poorly designed shower screen resulted in significant water spillage in the bathroom. The triple room configuration comprised a double bed (two singles pushed together which frequently separated) and a separate single, neither of which offered exceptional comfort. The outdated television with incorrect instructions further detracted from the room's appeal.
However, our experience took a significant positive turn with the hotel's restaurant. The buffet-style dining was exceptional, offering a diverse and high-quality selection of dishes. Drinks were readily available, and the restaurant staff were consistently friendly, helpful, and efficient. For the culinary experience alone, we would award a five-star rating.
The hotel boasts a rooftop pool which, while offering a pleasant setting, was uncomfortably cold. In contrast, the basement pool and jacuzzi provided a much more inviting and warm environment. A gym was present, though appeared to require membership. Other services and classes were advertised but not utilised during our stay.
A large bottle of complimentary drinking water was provided upon arrival, a necessary amenity as tap water in Malta is not recommended for consumption. Subsequent bottled water purchases were required. We opted for full board, which proved suitable for our needs as we are not heavy drinkers, making an all-inclusive package less appealing.
Despite some initial setbacks, the culinary offerings at the Soreda Hotel and the captivating experiences on the islands of Malta and Gozo left a lasting positive impression. We would consider a return visit to Malta, perhaps with a different approach to accommodation and transportation, to fully appreciate all that this fascinating archipelago has to offer.

Review I am giving is of the buffet. We were invited to a Sunday lunch buffet
Vast selection of food and sweets to choose from. Place was packed so make sure to reserve a table beforehand. Parking is a bit of a nightmare unless you go around noon.

Good selection of food. We had a buffet, it was very good. For 33 euro p/p we had free flowing water, wine, beer and soft drinks.
