We were a little nervous before arriving at the Aegean View Aqua Resort & Spa, having read a few concerning reviews online. But after spending time here, we genuinely wonder if those reviews were for the wrong hotel entirely, because our experience was nothing short of phenomenal.
From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded expectations. There were plenty of sunbeds available, no dreaded early morning "sunbed wars" here! In fact, the whole resort had a relaxed, well-managed feel to it. We were pleasantly surprised to find more pools than advertised, giving us lots of space and variety to enjoy throughout our stay.
Our room was spotless and cleaned daily to a high standard. The shower was the strongest we’ve ever had in a hotel, which might sound like a small detail, but it made a big difference and added to the overall comfort.
The food was excellent, with a wide variety of well-prepared dishes catering to all tastes. The waiting staff were efficient and not once did we see a dirty table left uncleared. Their speed and professionalism really stood out.
In short, we couldn’t be happier with our stay. The Aegean View Aqua Resort & Spa gave us everything we hoped for in a relaxing holiday and then some. We’ll definitely be back and we recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone considering it!

Part one When we booked the hotel, we kind of expected not to be 5 star hotel.
We arrived at 1.30am no front of desk just a security guard who gave us room number and key.
We thought it looked lovely felt relieved after hearing horror stories
The first room we were treated by 6 to 8 cockeroaches a filthy dirty sofa bugs crawling out of bed. Droppings all over floor. My autistic grandson was devastated. We went to reception nobody was there
Phoned jet2 the advisor was amazing but couldn't do anything
The following day we went to see staff we were moved room. Hotel manager is brilliant she's trying to save a sinking ship.
No hot water
The second room was better
But again cockeroaches ant invested
The food is disgusting no to mention ants crawling out of stale bread limp cold food
There no phone line in case of emergency
Our experience is unique there at least 7 family's we've spoke all having same experience
Jet2 said they be back in touch for us to move hotel at our cost
Please see photos, I hate other families to spend their hard earned cash and be traumatised like us
Charlotte jet2 in resort basically didn't care. However the helpline team were amazing
The hotel was advistesed to entertainment, pool party, etc none was there, apart from one entertainer
The staff, especially the manager pavlova I think was amazing, she really cared and took action within the parameters of her role.
On speaking with management and staff, local .people the hotel was used down last year for same problems
It was also opened by German/ Dutch owner basically they don't care they just want their roi
Day two, we could use pool, there were dead baby chick's in and around the pool. My son in law fished a few out as she did ise the pool.
The kids and one adult came down with sickness severe diaharea
Had to go pharmacy to buy anti sickness and anti diahrea
Still waiting for Charlotte from jet2 to move us
Oh sorry we were moved room, plaster facing of wall window bordered up
No housekeeping in 3 days
Severe ant investiation see video ants in the bed

Exposed electric wires
Food even worst no lables
Calamari was eaten believing it was onion ring by vegi
The whole family now ill
More room changes same thing happen,
Insect nest in room
Blended with Charlotte to move us
A drunken guy severely beat his partner, albeit not hotel fault, but two neuro diverse friends and grandaughter witnessed it, blood everywhere
The hotel refused to call police.
I spent holiday counselling other holiday makes
A guy with severe ocd, like my daughter was in such a distressed state because of period blood and human excrementment ants bed bugs and cockeroaches in his bed. He slept outside
The couple who witnessed attack like my.grandaughter were terrified to stay on site
Eventually the amazing manager got us moved to the the Village Kipriotis Aqualand
In arrival we were all excited it was short lived
It quickly became apparent
It had very simular challenges
As does all 4 of hotels
Panoramic stunning views
Dated
Whilst there power cut at service - meant to be 5 star
People were expected to eat in pitch black and cold food as both generator and electricity had feed, no lifts
Disabled people struggling to climb stairs
Anybody could walk in of streets
Not once we're we approached imagine 16 people just walking into restaurant
We left with out eating
Aqua land we gifted by hotel, the water was funny colour

Food awful
Stunning outdoors for all 4 hotels

Food even worst no lables
Calamari was eaten believing it was onion ring by vegi
The whole family now ill
More room changes same thing happen,

While there’s definitely room for improvement at this hotel, we were overall quite satisfied with our stay — especially considering how little we paid.
We were fortunate with the room we were given. Although we booked a standard room, we were upgraded to an upper-level sea view room with a balcony overlooking the impressively long pool. If we’d been given a choice of any room in the complex, we would have chosen this one! The room was spacious and everything worked well — air conditioning, shower, and more (with one exception, which I’ll explain shortly). The toilet seat wasn’t the perfect fit, but it didn’t ruin my day!
Housekeeping cleaned the room and made the bed daily. From what I could tell, bed linens and towels were changed once during our week-long stay — perfectly reasonable in my opinion (more often than I do at home!). We also swapped out our beach towels with no fuss.
The views from both our room and around the resort were spectacular. I especially loved the long swimming pool outside our room and the water park pool at the top of the resort — peaceful, relaxing, and surprisingly quiet with few children around.
Some previous reviews mentioned bed bugs, but I haven't seen any photo evidence. Based on our experience, I suspect mosquitoes are the real culprits. My advice: keep your windows and doors closed, and use strong insect repellent with DEET in the evenings. I still got a few bites — pretty normal and hard to avoid entirely.
Now, about that door lock… One day we returned to find our room door left wide open by housekeeping, and the lock wasn’t functioning. We reported it immediately, but it took over six hours for maintenance to come and reset the lock. During that time, the room wasn’t secure — not ideal.
As for the atmosphere, I’ve seen complaints that the hotel lacks constant music throughout the day and that it stops at 10 p.m. Personally, I was thrilled by the absence of background music — it meant peace and quiet! If guests want music, there are headphones for that. Unfortunately, not everyone agrees — one couple even played their own music by the pool on a speaker. Honestly, I find that kind of behaviour selfish and inconsiderate.
One small suggestion I forgot to share with management: young children (under, say, 13) really shouldn’t be helping themselves at the buffet. I saw a girl pile chips on her plate, then return half of them to the tray — with her hands. Needless to say, I didn’t touch the chips for the rest of the week!
My only other gripe is with a small number of rude guests. While most people were friendly and respectful, a few treated the staff very poorly. This was one of the cheapest all-inclusive Jet2 deals when we booked — I imagine most people paid the same — yet some behaved as though they were staying at the Ritz! Not the hotel’s fault, of course, but worth noting.
All in all, I’d recommend this hotel if you’re looking for stunning views, great pools, and decent food at a very affordable price. Just go with realistic expectations, and you’ll likely be pleasantly surprised.

Summary: A good hotel outside of Kos with a great view of the sea and overlooking Bodrum. Rooms are okay, plenty of opportunities for food and drink (food is not very well labelled at the buffet so may not be good if lots of allergies) but a lot of work needed.
Would I return? Probably, but only because it is significantly cheaper than the nicer 5 stars in Kos.
Benefits:
- Great views
- Shop onsite (otherwise it’s a 30 minute walk)
- Very cheap compared to other AI hotels
- Big cocktail menu
- Hot and cold snacks all day
- Entertainment at night and day
- Plenty of sun beds and pools
- No early morning sun bed racing
- Pretty hotel
- Comfy beds
- Very attentive and efficient bar staff and restaurant workers
- A good single person room charge
However, I think generally the staff, rooms, and accessibility of this hotel need a lot of work for it to be classed as a four star.
Firstly, the cleaners are very slow, inconsistent, and arguably lazy. We saw them outside our room chatting instead of cleaning. It then took them an hour to finish the room, this was at 3pm. They do not work Wednesdays or Sundays and did not clean our room on Friday or Saturday. We saw them outside of our room cleaning the adjacent rooms, but they did not enter ours and just left.
*edit* there is one cleaner who knocks on a door, if you do not answer then she will not clean. We have just seen her knock on 3 doors all to no answer so she did not clean them. Not sure if this is a policy or something at the hotel but a bit weird
The young receptionist seems too overly nice and kind but is not actually helpful. When we had arrived only one rooms were ready. The other was to be ready for 6pm (check in is 3pm). We were then told it was not ready until 7pm. She had told us that they allowed “lots of late departures” therefore the cleaners were very behind schedule. I asked for another room and she did not let us until a manager came out and gave us one “directly below”. It was not directly below, it was a 5 minute walk away.
Secondly, the taxis from the hotel are surcharged. We paid €15 to town, and €10 back from town. They ordered us an eighteen seater mini-bus when there were only 3 of us. Also the shop onsite is ridiculously priced. For a medium sized tub of caprice tubes it is €7.50, whereas in the main market in Kos it is

We’ve just finished our 10 day holiday at this hotel as a family of 3, our child being 2 years old. When we arrived the check in was a little slow due to one person being on reception, however they were really helpful and the room on arrival was spotless.
The food was okay-ish, however the children’s buffet was not on for the first week of us being here which was a little disappointing as we do have a fussy toddler. This meant we had to buy snacks from the hotel shop which has extortionate prices! When the children’s buffet did eventually come on, it was just rice and pasta.
We also quickly noticed that the more people arrived, the more crowded the bar and restaurant became. You’d have to queue 20+ minutes to get a drink on an evening as there was one man on the bar, and also there was a few times the restaurant was too full for people to be able to actually sit down. The man on the bar was a little rude at times, however as he was on his own and there was always a massive queue I can imagine he himself was a little stressed.
The water park is inaccessible for the elderly and those with young children, it’s right at the top of the resort on a huge steep hill which is really hard to walk up in this weather so we didn’t really go there much. It was really far away from the bar and all else.
The playground on resort is also for much older children and the kids club was also closed the whole duration of our stay (not that we’d use it anyway) but was a shame for other parents and children.
Throughout our 10 day stay our sheets were not changed once and our room was only cleaned 3/4 times. The rest of the resort also seriously needs a good clean as it’s dirty in most places and I’m not entirely convinced the pools are cleaned either.
Despite the above issues, it does seem like the staff are really hard working and we’ve always had really pleasant encounters with them. Special mention to Olivia from entertainment, she was absolutely amazing with my son and we loved chatting with her.
Some good points of the hotel include the free transfer to and from Kos town, however again it’s a struggle to get on due to over crowding of the hotel. And also there is so many pools to choose from, but again, sun-beds subject to availability.
I think the hotel has so much potential and we did have a good holiday even with the issues above, I believe it was the overcrowding that ruined the experience. I definitely don’t think the hotel is built for as many people as there were here.
