Morocco Beach

Best Time For Weather

Morocco maintains a consistent year-round warmth, with temperatures rarely dropping below 20℃. This makes it the perfect destination for getting active with some outdoor fun like water sports, adventure activities and sightseeing. If you’re seeking a beach holiday in Agadir, you have a myriad of months to choose from. July and August are the hottest, when highs can reach a glorious 37℃; perfect for sun-worshipers who want to come home with a bronze glow. September and October also see high temperatures, though they are slightly lower, falling to between 28 to 32℃. Family holidays are recommended in March, April and May, when temperatures become cooler and more pleasant for action-packed itineraries. Temperatures are between 23 to 28℃, though March and April see more rainfall in comparison to May. Travel during December, January and February for some sublime winter sun. With an average low of 19℃, Morocco is by no means cold.

Best Time For Activities

If you’re looking forward to a magical holiday filled to the brim with fun activities, we’d recommend travelling to Morocco in the springtime. May in particular is an exemplary month as it is warm, but not too hot, and receives minimal rainfall in comparison to the other spring months. This is perfect for traversing across the country, ticking your most anticipated adventures off your bucket list. The south borders the Sahara desert, where you can try camel riding, sand boarding, animal safaris and, for the brave-at-heart, hot air balloon rides over the amber-coloured sand. The Atlas mountains are a nature haven, where you can hike, camp, mountain bike or zipline above the lush foliage. Explore the history of Morocco for a full immersion into the local heritage. Culture-lovers will adore an afternoon touring the Koutoubia Mosque in Marrakech or the Kasbah of the Udayas in Rabat and investigating the mythical Caves of Hercules in Tangier.

Morocco Culture

Best Time For Festivals

The Moroccan calendar is packed full of exciting festivals throughout the year, making it an exceptional destination to visit all year round. One of the biggest and most anticipated is Mawazine. This music festival is held every June in Rabat, Morocco’s vibrant capital. Literally translating to “Rhythms of the World", millions of enthusiasts come to watch award-winning artists like Mariah Carey, Rhianna, Calvin Harris and Bruno Mars perform. Held annually in November or December is the International Film Festival of Marrakech. Actors, directors and producers come to promote the film industry and creative arts with movie screenings and an award show. A wonderful time to experience Morocco is during Ramadan. While the dates for this festival change yearly, it is always in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. Day-to-day life changes during this time, as Muslims fast in the daytime and then spend the evenings feasting and celebrating, making it an extremely special time to visit.

Morocco Souk

Best Time For A Bargain

We have a host of deals for a holiday to Morocco throughout the year, meaning you can travel to your dream destination on a budget that suits you. For couples and solo holidaymakers, many deals are available to you as you aren’t restricted to visiting during the children’s school holidays. Spring, excluding the Easter holidays, will see a number of great deals as March and April are regarded as the wetter months in the year, although any showers are usually short lived. For some, rain isn’t their cup of tea and a few attractions may close until the summertime. If you want to explore in between the showers, you’ll find a mesmerising country that’s oozing natural beauty. Winter is another wonderful time of year to hunt for deals. Cooler temperatures means that only those seeking some winter sun will travel, so hotels will offer better prices to entice you in.

Morocco Fort

The Best Time To Avoid Crowds

If you’re hoping to avoid large groups of people on your Morocco holiday, we’d recommend travelling out-of-season. Summer and autumn will see the most crowds, as this is when the weather is at its peak. High temperatures and the summer holidays will draw in families, meaning hotels are likely to fill up faster and the beaches will be busier. Winter is a great time to enjoy the scenery and attractions in peace, like shopping in the famous souks. Jemaa el-fna in Marrakech is a hive of culture and colours, with rows of aromatic spices, vibrant fabrics and traditional crafts. Families will love having aquatic fun at a waterpark, such as the jungle-themed Tamaris Aquaparc in Casablanca, and a day at Crocoparc to see crocodiles, giant tortoises, anacondas and giant pythons up close. Plage d’Agadir is the family-friendly beach that will be more accessible off-peak, where you can feel the thrills of some water sports.

The Atlas mountains and Sahara desert are a playground for those seeking epic thrills, with ziplining, mountain biking, sand boarding and hot air balloon rides the best for getting your heart racing.
